This company stole $28k from me and show no effort of correcting this. I bought solar panels and they installed them. Part of the contract was for them to pay off my old solar loan (existing solar panels) and to provide funding for improvements on my house. This is very clear in the contract. I have called and written letters and emailed. They just kept saying that they will send the money soon. It has been over a year now.

The salesman, Stephen, was responsive throughout the process and beyond. Great service through the sales process, but no communication after.
Unfortunately, he is the only one. The second contact I worked with, Maya, made me feel like a burden whenever I requested support. I contacted Nick for help with my system, which I believe is not providing the power output expected. I received no response.

Millholland installed the solar panels on our house prior to us moving in. Since then we have had several issues with how the solar panels are functioning and with the PVS unit. I have called multiple times for them to come out and have only talked to a person once. I leave voicemails that don't get returned and work orders that get closed on me without anything being fixed. Find someone else to install your panels

Stay far away from this Company! They are terrible in every aspect! Crappy company! Their customer service is non responsive! They may "" sell you a system "" but after that, BEWARE!

Contractors license SUSPENDED!
Amazing service when you are signing up, BUT THEN THINGS CHANGE AFTER YOU SIGN!
First of all there were weeks delay putting in my system! They blamed it on the city taking so long for inspections. So I went to the city myself finally and they have a next day inspection. It is NOT two or three weeks out. It is Millholand that is weeks out to do ANYTHING!
When you want to get a hold of them they DO NOT ANSWER their phones. You leave a message and get nothing back. Go online and you are promised someone will call you the next day. Yea, doesn't happen. Maybe a week or two later in the beginning but since September NOTHING!
My service went live July 21, by Aug 5 one of my panels stopped working. They came out in September to take pictures to send to manufacturer. I was told part was ordered and should arrive in two weeks. Three months later and many messages later NOTHING!
I contacted the manufacturer and they said that they asked for additional photos so they could determine if it is a whole panel replacement or just a part but they have not heard back from the service person. They have tried numerous times, according to them.
Went to finally complain to the contractors license board and lo and behold their contractors license is SUSPENDED!!!
DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! EVER!

Milholland installed our solar system 14 years ago and we've been very satisfied until recently. I've been unable to reach them for 3 weeks. Went to the address listed on their website (1475 Cuyamaca St, El Cajon) and found their offices to be abandoned. I went to the roofing company next door and they said Milholland went out of business. A travesty that their website is still on the internet.

UPDATED 11/28/2023: I have not yet received any communication from Milholland. I was forced to file a complaint with the BBB and they have not yet responded to that complaint either. Does anyone know if they are still in business? I am growing more and more concerned about how we will maintain and service our solar system. Additionally, we need to add panels as we have an electric car and need to up our panels.

Nearly 10 years ago I have this comment a glowing 5-star recommendation. But now, they are totally unresponsive to calls or contact via those website.
Maybe they will see this Yelp review and the complaint to the BBB and get their act together.
If you are looking for solar, regrettably I think you should look for someone else to install it.

I had a problem with my Solar System Waldo who I spoke with quickly remedy the problem by sending his team out. Waldo has great customer service and professional skills. I will remember his kindness.

The help provided by Maya made me want to leave more than a 1 star review, but honestly the experience overall was easily a 1 star experience. Took almost 10 months to complete our project, expectations were poorly set from the beginning, and communication was quite poor as we were often left wondering where we were in the process and what was coming next and when the next step would take place without any answers (again, Maya did eventually step in and take some ownership into providing more consistent communication when it seemed obvious that nobody else would help).
We also had to change our panel selection 3-4 times; we originally picked what we thought were the best option knowing they would be available within a few months (initially told by end of December-early January after signing contract in September), and we really weren't offered any alternatives or given options or explained the differences between any panel options during the sales consultation. In February we were told those panels wouldn't be available and that we would have to chose other panels, given only one option but no real explanation as to what the differences were and left on our own to determine that these panels were not as efficient, yet we were still having to pay the same price for our system that now had worse panels. Then that happened again, and we had to pick another panel option that was even less efficient than the second option, then it happened one more time shortly thereafter.
After panels were finally installed, we had to wait another several months for inspection and approval for NEM and many other details to progress and be finalized, some of which was due to the energy provider and not necessarily in SunPower/Milholland's hands, however it would take a series of constant and consistent emails to multiple people to find out where we might have been throughout the process and be told how much longer we would have to wait and what else we might be waiting for after each subsequent step was completed; Maya finally provided a point of contact to keep us updated along the way, so I do want to thank her, but otherwise the communication was severely lacking in both volume and clarity.
Our system seems to be working fine now, and I don't know what our billing is going to look like outside of our loan payment, but we had to pay several months of both energy bills as well as loan payments, so this was another factor of our experience that was less than satisfactory.
Overall disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. If I were to get solar again after the experience I had I would not go through this company again.
