I found Sunny Boy Home Repair through a local FaceBook group. Because Gill is friends with a few of my close friends, I decided to contact him. He answered his phone immediately, and we discussed my needed repair: my dishwasher that has ceased working, for no apparent reason. We set an appointment time for the next morning, and Gill arrived, early in fact. I was impressed with him thus far.
Gill began tackling the dishwasher right away, and found the issue right away. He said it needed to be cleaned with apple cider and baking soda, and asked for these items, which I did not have. As a Repairman, these are tools of his trade, and something that he should have on hand. I wound up going to the store to buy them, while Gill used the time to connect on his phone.
Upon my return, Gill was able to clean the dishwasher's hoses, and get it running well again. This was a great positive. Afterwards, he kept reiterating his request that I post positive reviews both to Yelp and to his FaceBook site page. I told him that I would certainly post a review. He went so far as to say that '...there are about four Gays that have posted negative reviews, but other than that all the reviews are great.' I told him that there's no need to identify any group of people, for any reason. I also said that my finding is that reviews are based on work provided, and that mine would be dependent on his work.
The next morning, he texted and reminded me to write a review. I hadn't done so because I hadn't used the dishwasher yet. He also called later in the day to inquire. I understand that he wants to know the status of his work, but *I will write the review once I've used the dishwasher, Sir!*
Needless to say once I used the DW, it had not been reinstalled properly. It was extremely difficult to shut. I texted Gill, and we arranged for a time for him to return. When he did, it was very evident he was not happy. He made an adjustment to the machine, and asked me to check it; it was not correct, which I let him know. He huffed and puffed, made another adjustment, and had me try the door again, which worked properly this time. Yay for a working dishwasher.
Gill reminded me to 'post a review, since you haven't yet.' I told Gill, straight and forward, that I needed to be sure that the machine worked properly. Hence the wait in posting. I also said that with an attitude such as his he will certainly get his review.
I appreciate that Gill got my dishwasher working again, and with a warranty no less. What I don't appreciate is his negative reference to 'Gays'. That was uncalled for. I also believe that he should have his own baking soda and vinegar, so that a customer needn't be put out going to the store for these items.

We called Gil last minute and he was luckily able to come over and fit our sink. He was so handy that he was able to hang artwork and fix our toilet as well. I would definitely use him again. He did a great job and he was vey polite.

I called Gil from Sunny Boy HR and told him my 'sad' story of trying to get a master bath outlet to work. Gil came over to see what was wrong with the electrical outlet and why it was not working.
Gil was the 4th person that I had contacted to see about this repair.

First person told me the wire was broken inside the wall and it could only be repaired by tearing into the wall find the broken wire and replace it. Would also need to replace the dry wall and then repaint.

Second handyman told me just needed a new GFCI outlet switch.

Third man replaced the GFCI outlet - still did not work.

Gil arrived and immediately checked the outlet, and the wire connections. Gil ""did a little logical testing and checked some things out"". --It took Gil less than 10 minutes to find the broken wire inside the outlet area, and to correctly attach it. It works properly!! :)

I'm so thankful for Gil and his crew! I manage our Palm Springs property as a high-end vacation rental, but we live in Orange County. I needed someone right away to bring power back to our home after our renters tripped the circuit breaker and couldn't restore power. In addition we needed several lightbulbs changed that were broken inside the fixtures. I didn't have a person I already knew that could respond quickly so I depended on Yelp! I hired Gil based on the reviews, his professionalism over the phone as well as his quick response time.
2 days later we had another problem where the same guests pulled the chain cord out of our roller shades on the day of their check out. Unfortunately another set of guests were checking in the same day. Gil to the rescue once again! He was able to come the next morning and our guests were impressed with how quickly and cleanly they were able to service our home.
Batting 2 for 2, Gil is now my go to person for getting needs met at our home. This is such a comfort since we live 2 hours away from our property!

Gil and his crew came out to install a new over the range microwave. They arrived early and immediately got to work. The job was done in the time he quoted and that included clean-up. I highly recommend him.

I've waited a couple of weeks to write this review and realize that if I had seen the other bad reviews Gil Soliz has received I would not have hired him. As one of the other one-star reviewers said, this man is a CROOK! Do not be deceived, he will promise the moon, claim he is a genius, swear to take care of you but beware of the requests for money for materials (falsified, no receipts) and for advances.

Last time I saw him was a Friday and he promised, swore, he would be back on Monday with the requested receipts. Uh huh.

Do yourself a favor and move on. Do not hire Sunnyboy Home Repair!

My ""Handyman"" attempted a repair on some landscape lights in front of our house, to no avail. In fact, he probably made them worse. The c/b continued to trip.
I called Sunny Boy and they came out the next day. It was raining cats and dogs, but that did not stop them. They worked on the issue for hours in the pouring rain and got it fixed. They even dropped by the next morning to put on some finishing touches as promised and called a couple days later to follow up on the repair.
Excellent response time, great work (fixing outdoor electrical in the rain), courteous service... What more could you ask for? Hard to find an ethic like that in today's world.
They'll be my first call in the future when I need work done. Thanks guys!!!!

Called this morning, Sunny Boy was at my home by noon, and immediately fixed my electrical problem! 10/10 would hire again.

This man is a crook. I did not read the other one star/bad reviews, and I should have. Gill did the same thing he's done to many others....He did incomplete work, asked me for a check for $500 for materials, and then never responded to my calls to finish job. He essentially stole my $500 (which was in addition to the labor I had already paid him for). When i tried to call him, he wouldn't answer my calls, but if i used a different phone, he would answer on first ring.... then, once i ""caught him"", he would just give excuse after excuse. My car is broken, materials are on back-order, etc etc etc.

I'm going to go ahead and file a small claims lawsuit at this point. I should have never hired somebody with such bad reviews. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN.
