Peter and Adrian did a fabulous job of fixing our heater! They responded quick and fit us in the same day we called. ( Took pity on us since we were freezing even though they were booked up!) On top of that, they gave us the best price out of other places we called in the area. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and trustworthy! We can't recommend Peter Cross and Sun Air highly enough. He and Adrian replaced the 20+ year old furnace in our 50+ year old home, including all the ducts and vents. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beautiful to watch and the results are nothing short of magnificent. Peter and Adrian methodically and beautifully sealed every square inch of the system, from the intakes and furnace to the most far-flung vents. (I am still not sure how they maneuvered the tight quarters in the crawlspace, because I get claustrophobic even thinking about it.) Not one molecule of air could possibly escape before reaching the vents, providing us with the most efficient heating system imaginable. Prompt and reliable, personable and friendly, hire Peter even if you have to wait--he's in high demand (and for good reason.)

Sun Air installed a 3 ton heat pump to add cooling and high efficiency electrified heating to our house, including adding a retrofit coil into the provisioned section of our old furnace (a coil I sourced online), along with installing a new Honeywell thermostat that re-used the old heating only thermostat wiring by adding an equipment interface module and wireless outdoor air sensor that I also provided. As part of the effort Sun Air applied a new 200A rated panel (with the new outdoor unit breaker) downstream of our main PG&E disconnect, and then re-fed our original 100A sub-panel with minimal downtime. About 18 months later, Sun Air was able to promptly coach me through finding a blown fuse on the outdoor unit isolation disconnect, and otherwise the system has been working perfectly. The original effort didn't end up wiring the equipment interface module for dual-fuel functionality to use the propane furnace as a backup heat, but in the end the goal was always to use the higher performance heat pump in nearly all weather conditions we see in Scott's Valley. During the project a reasonable cost was added to the original quote to include the more decorative PVC line set cover (SpeediChannel) for the segment that we had to run up the exterior wall. The new condensate drainage provisions all seemed to be well done, and there was some sort of brazed connection that needed to be re-worked on the furnace coil unit I sourced online, which Sun Air graciously corrected during the process.

Sun Air just finished installing a furnace and AC unit at our home in San Jose today. I saw their truck at a house on our daily walk one Saturday in Aptos where we've been living and called. Peter has three contractor licenses so you're getting a ""full service"" contractor who knows all aspects of building not just HVAC. Peter looked at the job, gave me a bid in a timely fashion and when I accepted his bid he set a start date and was there as promised. He and Adrian, his helper, stored stock in the empty house on padded furniture pads. When I said that wasn't necessary because we were having the floors sanded he said that's not the way he works. Peter works to a high standard with quality equipment. I was very pleased with the end product, his last comment was that once we move in to give him a call if we wanted any adjustments made. Also, we were interested in Solar panels and a point of use water heater but Peter said to wait a year to see usage to get a history to know what we need, unlike others who have tried to sell us panels without that info, he said our hot water heater still had life and to wait. You feel with Peter that he has your interests at heart not just making money at your expense. Will definitely use Peter again and highly recommend him to you.

Great service, reliable and knowledgeable. Peter and his co-worker, forgot his name, nice guy also, anyway, Peter showed up inspected the AC condenser and right away new it was shot. He recommended a new unit (quality parts.) Was installed and completed within 3 days. Super knowledgeable and recommends quality parts that will last. I was referred by a friend...""give Peter a call!"" We had our main air duct in the attic crushed by a storage item. Peter and his team were here in the AM to diagnose issue, left to pick up more parts and were all done by lunch time! It's so nice to have the HVAC system air flow back 100% and no yucky insulation being breathed in! Will certainly call Peter for any HVAC installation needs/repairs/etc in the future and refer him to all my friends and family.

Peter suggested several options with clear explanations of costs and benefits for a complete system including ducting, 16 vents and furnace with AC compressor. He was timely with the installation, communicated during the process and was absolutely great to work with. My install was complex and had some unexpected twists, but Peter went the extra mile to make the project a success. I'm very happy with my new HVAC system and you will be too with Peter and Sun Air.
