Company Overview

Sumter Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is a community-driven electric cooperative delivering affordable along with dependable energy to more than 21,000+ houses, enterprises, ranches, including educational institutions. Functioning on a not-for-profit basis, our members guide and constitute the community throughout all or parts of Chattahoochee, Dougherty, Lee, Marion, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Terrell, and Webster counties.

We offer affordable plus consistent electric service, plus power evaluations for our clients. Moreover, we promote learning initiatives as well as development initiatives for our community, including the Round-Up initiative, the Youth Tour to Washington, Walter Harrison Scholarship, along with the Youth Leadership Conference organized by the Georgia Cooperative Council.
