I wanted to replace a malfunctioning ceiling kitchen vent hood. Azat was responsive and punctual. I liked his humble and honest attitude, and he can naturally explain what problems he is currently facing and how he is trying to solve. This is because I am curious to know what's going on, but if you prefer to just leave it to him, he is probably also just keep working until the job is done.

So, I know that anything home related nothing is straightforward. In this case of vent hood replacement, it was no exception, and we had a number of obstacles, which Azat successfully overcame. Here are some of the highlights:

1. The old vent hood needed to tear down piece by peace, because some parts are very tight and stuck.
2. When attaching the very first part that screws into the ceiling, he found that one of the ceiling stud was broken and loose. Effectively it means that he couldn't screw into that stud. Withing the very tight available space, he came up with a few ideas, and ended up successfully securing it by moving and attaching the broken stud to the other good nearby stud with long screws. Observing how he explains the issue and options to solve it, I realized that he is genuinely an honest handyman who likes to solve the problem.
3. We had some missing pieces, so we needed to run to HomeDepot
4. At this point we were sure that we will go over the allocated time, but he pushed to keep going. After almost everything is done, what's left was to cover them up with stainless steel. All the electrical was hooked up at this point. He said he felt something is not right while holding the stainless cover. He said he felt some current is flowing when it's not supposed to, so he wanted to make sure if it's all fine. Eventually, he found that the old grounding wire wasn't clean enough that he needed to scrape off the old glue and tapes. I was impressed and appreciated how he does the right thing. The issue is then resolved.
5. The final step, the vent hood cover was of course an easy task ;) No, it was not straightforward, but he got the job done.

The final bill was surprisingly cheap that I asked him to raise it. After 3.5 hours of hard work and problem solving, he deserved more than he quoted. I definitely recommend him, and would hire him again.

Had an excellent experience with Azat. He replaced an old bathroom fan on my rental unit. He coordinate everything with my tenant. Provided a recording of the work product. Too reasonably priced so I gave him a generous tip..the guy has to eat folks! :)
