They provided us with good service for many years .
We stayed with them despite high prices and poor communication.
They no longer seem to care for the small homeowner.
see you later ...

Thank you Chris Strom, you are a life saver! Last night, my hardwired ceiling Fire/C02 alarm went off at midnight...even after replacing the back up batteries it was still triggering at 4:00 AM. Needless to say I was exhausted this morning. Fortunately, when my daughter called, I shared my predicament. She immediately put me in touch with Strom Electric as she and her husband have used Strom Electric for their home needs for many years. Chris came right over and replaced the failing 8 year old fixture with an up to date combo device with a ten year life that does not require batteries. He was friendly, efficient, kind, quick and affordable! I am so grateful that he was willing to come over so quickly and resolve this issue as I was dreading another night of dealing with the ear piercing clamor. Instead, thanks to Chris, I am looking forward to a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep... So grateful!

Nice enough on the phone and very prompt. However, if you are unable to provide a written quote I can't consider having you do electrical work on my house. Thanks.

Since California had been experiencing blackouts due to wildfires my grandfather decided to get a generator. Strom quoted us and told us we will be able to power the house with a natural gas generator rated for the whole house. They installed it and everything seemed to be setup by their standards to work.
However recently we had PG&E do some electrical work on our lines and they said our power would be out for a few hours. Perfect we thought because we had a generator we should have no issues. When the power went out only half the house worked. We called strom and they sent out the person who installed our generator.
The guy who installed it said he didn't realized we had two breakers and they would need to reroute the system for it to properly work when he reviewed our breakers again. They then told us to just use an extension cord for the part of the house that didn't work. My grandfather paid thousands of dollars and got told use an extension cord and a power outage would only be temporary. What's the point of the generator if they are telling us a power outage is temporary?
I do not recommend these people to anyone because they took advantage of my grandfather who was told it would power the house and then said just to wait out power outages because they are temporary. They do not want to fix their error would and told us to use extension cords.

I have never felt compelled to write a negative review until now. I am so disappointed with Strom Electric, they do not even deserve one star. I spoke with a person by phone on 9/3 wanting to schedule an appointment to install 3 way switches. I was asked to send an image of our switch plates and then was told they were special item orders. The receptionist said that she would call back on 9/8 to schedule our job. We did not receive a call so I called back, several times, leaving several messages. On 9/17 my husband finally reached a person who explained that he would research and get back to us. He did not, so we called once again. This time the person answering said, ""didn't you get my message? ....we cannot do the job, we are just too busy."" There was no message. Two weeks of being strung along and now they are too busy to do our job. Undependable and poor customer relations! Highly doubtful they will remain ""too busy"" for long if this is how they treat their customers.

We hired Strom to do a small job, which was adding an outlet to a bathroom. We make efforts to utilize independents and small companies when possible. Our usual go to guy Greg Trinka was unavailable and this other independent guy, Victor Soares, although he was popular at one time on Nextdoor, his quotes were way off the charts.
Strom saved the day. He was punctual, quick, and efficient. He did
the job beautifully and no mess was left behind. Best of all their price
was very reasonable. Thanks Strom.

Chris Strom is a great electrician and easily handled all of our electrical upgrades! Thanks again Strom Electric!

I am disappointed to have to post a negative review for Strom Electric since my prior experience had been positive.
A few years ago, they installed outdoor lights controlled by indoor smart switches and all worked fine. A few months ago, one of the switches seemed to fail and I called, asking to have someone look at it. They promised to get back to me. When I hadn't heard from them after a few days, I decided to try the switch again and it had begun working. So of course there was no need to follow up on the request even though they hadn't got back to me.
Last week however, the switch failed again and again I called and was promised a return call to schedule the repair. When I hadn't received the scheduling call a day or two later, I called again and was again promised a call to schedule the repair. Still nothing, so finally called one more time. This time no human being answered, so left a voicemail with the same request. No response.
I can understand if they're too busy or consider the job too small or trivial, but at least let me know rather than promising to get back and not doing so.

This review is a bit late because we did not notice the problem until now when we are about to sell the house. We had them replace the electric panel and upgrade it a few years back. We found out today, he pulled a permit but never had the inspection done. So we now have to pull a new permit and pay for it. Also when they did the work they did not fill the empty holes where no breaker is located so we have to do that to. When they did the original work, they left a big hole in the wall and said it was not their responsibility to fix it. At that time we had to have someone else fix that. They also left a mess in the garage, cut wire, boxes, etc.

The owner and Fred came to our house to assess the problems. They did not fix the problem or even give us a diagnosis/ plan to do the work and then sent a bill for $400.00. When I called to ask why we were billed and what they did during the time he billed us for he didn't know and he said that's how we run our business.
