Having almost 35 years in electrical contracting field, we began in the year 1980 with a single Toyota pickup truck. Incorporation took place in 1985 and have grown into a reputable provider with numerous repeat customers. Marcia, our office manager handles the phones, interacting with customers and arranging visits for the electricians on our team.

I am disappointed to have to post a negative review for Strom Electric since my prior experience had been positive.
A few years ago, they installed outdoor lights controlled by indoor smart switches and all worked fine. A few months ago, one of the switches seemed to fail and I called, asking to have someone look at it. They promised to get back to me. When I hadn't heard from them after a few days, I decided to try the switch again and it had begun working. So of course there was no need to follow up on the request even though they hadn't got back to me.
Last week however, the switch failed again and again I called and was promised a return call to schedule the repair. When I hadn't received the scheduling call a day or two later, I called again and was again promised a call to schedule the repair. Still nothing, so finally called one more time. This time no human being answered, so left a voicemail with the same request. No response.
I can understand if they're too busy or consider the job too small or trivial, but at least let me know rather than promising to get back and not doing so.

This review is a bit late because we did not notice the problem until now when we are about to sell the house. We had them replace the electric panel and upgrade it a few years back. We found out today, he pulled a permit but never had the inspection done. So we now have to pull a new permit and pay for it. Also when they did the work they did not fill the empty holes where no breaker is located so we have to do that to. When they did the original work, they left a big hole in the wall and said it was not their responsibility to fix it. At that time we had to have someone else fix that. They also left a mess in the garage, cut wire, boxes, etc.

The owner and Fred came to our house to assess the problems. They did not fix the problem or even give us a diagnosis/ plan to do the work and then sent a bill for $400.00. When I called to ask why we were billed and what they did during the time he billed us for he didn't know and he said that's how we run our business.

Fast forward to 2016. We make an appointment with Storm Electric to have them resolve several issues around our house - a broken fire alarm bell and a non-functional doorbell.
The electrician arrives as scheduled and I show him what the problems are. Although he was willing to check out and identify the problems, his attitude made it very clear that he wasn't interested in actually resolving them - making it very clear to me that he didn't have the replacements parts needed on his truck. On prior visits, the electrician offered to get whatever was necessary and come back, but not this time.
I really had the feeling I was dealing with a totally different organization than before.
I contacted another firm to complete the work.

We were so pleased with our experience with Strom and Justin in particular. We presented him with some challenging situations, and he patiently troubleshooted until the deed(s) was done. He would also share knowledge and guidance without patronizing. Thanks for enhancing our home Justin!

First, it took awhile just to get the appointment set. Secondly, once the electrician visited and left the same problem occurred a week later. When I called and explained this I asked the owner if another visit could be rescheduled without being charged the initial hour of $125. If it was going to take more than an hour to determine the problem I was more than willing to pay for labor and parts. The response I got was... "" I don't understand, so you think we did a bad job?"". I gave up explaining and found another electrician to do the work.

We've had the pleasure of working with Gerry Strom and his team multiple times. They helped us replace the main breaker box on our house in Sausalito before we sold (a tricky job that required city approval) and Gerry made it happen in a short time-frame. Friendly, knowlegable, integrity - they are wonderful! Thank you Strom Electric! The only company I call.

The electrician, Fred, arrived at the agreed-to time, and quickly diagnosed the cause of our problem with a lighted street number sign required by the Ross Valley Fire District. Fred found and corrected a wiring problem installed at the time of our remodel activities in 2010, and also determined that there was an incompatibility between the voltage supplied to the sign's transformer and the expected power. Fred suggested consulting with a local lighting company to obtain the correct transformer and light bulbs, and the sign now works properly. Fred's total time on-site was less than one hour, and everything was properly re-installed before he left. Overall, an excellent experience and a real value for the amount we paid!

One of my GFCI outlets would not reset causing a power outage for about half my house. I called Strom and described the problem. They said that one of their electricians was in my area and offered to send him over immediately. Chris Strom arrived in about 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem as defective GFCI outlets and replaced them with the newer version. He did not have two of the correct color face plates and said he would return the next day with the correct one. He called the next morning and arrived shortly after to install the correct face plate. I'm sure glad I read Mansell C's review. That's why I called Strom and I'm sure glad I did.

Strom Electric completed a service upgrade and installed a new main panel and sub panel in my home. We ran into some headaches dealing with PGE... well, they weren't really headaches for me because Jerry from Strom handled everything. Great prices, friendly service... I would definitely recommend Strom Electric.
