Needed a major service done at my house. A friend who was an electrician said a couple of years ago that I should replace my service panel in the future. Well, when I finally needed to do it my friend had retired. I asked for a referral, he recommended Steen Electric.

My initial call was politely and professionally returned and an appointment was set. Mr. Steen was on time and the work was done totally to my satisfaction. He took care of securing the permit and later meeting with the inspector for the sign off. We decided to have some additional work done inside, so we had him come back to install dimmers and a new LED ceiling light fixture.

I watched much of his work and he was very efficient and thorough. This electrician is highly recommended.

Monday night I heard sparks and smelled burning wire. House lights flickered but everything stayed on. Our house was the only one that seemed to have had the problem. Called PGE who referred me to 911 and then to Fire Dept. After checking that nothing was burning in the house and no downed lines appeared in the yard, it was thought one of our circuits was failing. We were advised to call an electrician and not use washer/dryer until it was fixed. I was sure we were in for a very expensive repair. I called Steen Electric. After setting an appointment, Mr. Steen advised me to have PGE come check power lines into the house. I was so glad because that was exactly the problem. The neutral line into the house had broken and burned. PGE fixed the line and everything in the house is now working normally. Even the PGE guys told me I had called a very good electrician. Though I did not need his services this time, I will definitely be calling Steen electric for future needs. Plus, I learned that just because the lights stay on doesn't mean all is fine with the lines.

I selected Charlie Steen to upgrade the electrical service and install new wiring for a new central heating system in my home. Charlie presented a practical project in layman's terms and offered a very good bid. He asked all the right questions to help decide what exactly was currently needed and what might be expected in the future. He did all the work, obtaining the permit, completing the upgrade and new installation and meeting with the inspector to wrap up the job timely. I can't recommend Steen Electric more strongly. Charlie is an honest businessman and a good electrician. I am also grateful that he's local! Love to keep my hard earned cash with local good guys!
