I had an urgent electric problem at my home in Rubicon. Being July in Tahoe and the busiest time of the year, I had a hard time finding an electrician.
I contacted 4 businesses that came
recommended by others but the were unavailable.
The most frustrating part of searching was calling at least 13 companies around the lake and Reno and Squaw Valley Electric was the only company to return my call and understand the urgency of my problem.
Barry called me back within 30 minutes and arranged for one of the electricians to visit & diagnose the problem. Nick was not only professional & efficient, but at my home within a few hours.
It seems rare to even get a courteous call back anymore, regardless of the business.
I think it speaks volumes about the work ethic of this company and a common attitude & desire to serve their customers. What a great team.
I am one happy satisfied customer!

Last week's storm ripped the power lines off our cabin. A full seven days later, Liberty Utilities finally arrived to say they wouldn't do any of their repairs until an electrician repaired the damage to my electrical panel. Barry Thys of Squaw Valley Electric returned my call in ten minutes recognizing the sense of urgency (5 days before Christmas) and did what I thought would be the impossible. He coordinated getting all the components purchased and assigned a crew (Billy and Tyler) to repair all the damage, all the while staying in contact with us to keep us apprised of the progress. His crew did a fantastic job,

Phone call to Squaw Valley Electric Monday at 10:00 am and power to our cabin was restored at 8:30 pm. Tuesday!

Barry and the Squaw Valley Electric team did A LOT of work on my house, from A/V system to Lutron lighting and shades to core electrical system and high capacity hot swap generator. Across the board they did great work. They are smart, efficient and responsive. And when the work was complete, they still checked in and came by numerous times when we wanted to tweak various things like the lighting programming. I hadn't worked with them before this so I started with a ""show me"" attitude. Over time I learned that they were true to their word and they really did care about doing great work. Even now, Barry checks in to make sure everything is working the way we want it. I'm a huge fan and they get two ""thumbs up"" from our family. Oh, and their billing is easy to follow and totally transparent. Great people. Thanks SVE team!

After years of dealing with a bad internet connection and low-end gear, Barry at Squaw Valley Electric changed everything! My Truckee house is a very busy rental and I always getting complaints about the internet. Not anymore! With everyone working from home, having technology work optimally is vital. Squaw Valley Electric installed a high end Luttron lighting system in my home in Olympic valley in 2011. I have been very pleased with the system and the service. There haven't been many occasions to request service but every time I did Barry and his team were very responsible and got the issues handled quickly and in a timely manner.
Recently during Christmas week I needed some assistance with the system. Called Barry and he got one of his technicians Scott here almost immediately in spite of being very busy with the holiday . Scott quickly fixed the issue i and got me up and running.. Couldn't recommend Squaw Valley Electric more highly.

SHOUT OUT! We learned a couple years ago that the home we bought in Truckee had electronics installed by Barry's team at Squaw Valley Electric. I communicated with him a few times and we recently had an issue with our Lutron system. I called and he sent a technician out the following day who quickly resolved our problems right before the Holidays. Barry and Squaw Valley Electric are experts, courteous, prompt and fairly priced. What else could you ask for? I look forward to calling him in the future as technology evolves and more fun things become available.
