We had used SWFL Electric prior to Hurricane Ian and were happy. Then Ian hit and we called them to fix all the electric damage in our house. We were given a price and asked to have it broken into 3 jobs because the entire lower level was destroyed and had no walls and the pool cage was in the pool and the electrical work needed to be put on hold. We needed the second floor working which included meter, box and wiring. Work was done and we turned on the air handler and the box caught fire. They missed the shutoff box which had been under surge water and was fried. I was charged additionally for this which I felt was their missed issue but paid it reluctantly.
When the cage was removed, pool cleaned and the box all the pool equipment could be replaced, the price rose considerably. When I questioned the increase over the initial quote Jeremy said prices had gone up! It was a 3 week difference!!!! The next one came in 3 times higher! A competitor said Jeremy was boasting about how much money he was making because ""they'll pay anything to get the job done."" Wrong. We went elsewhere for 1/3 the price. We weren't the only dissatisfied people. Others also felt the same as we did. Just gouging!!

Brence was here 11/6/23. We had no water due to an outdoor outlet to our water supply having issues. He replaced the plastic cover and outlet and suggested a surge protector for extra protection and CLEANED our electrical panel as well for better connection. We were very stressed as you can imagine having NO WATER. He came out the same day we called Southwest Electric and that in itself was very helpful. He did a great job. He was very knowledgeable and finished all the work the same day. Excellent Job!

I needed to have a light installed over my guest bathtub/shower. Wasn't looking for anything special but didn't want holes left behind in our drywall. I was told by your tech, Jeremy Bessemer that the only way to maybe accomplish this was to add an additional exhaust fan in the middle of the ceiling which was something I really didn't want. The estimate would be $1900.00. He Jeremy also explained that because I have no direct access to my attic on that side of the house he couldn't guarantee that the connection still couldn't be done without an additional hole to accommodate the wiring needed. At this point I decided to get a second opinion and payed the $79.00 charge to have Jeremy come to my home to give me an estimate. I contacted another electrician who came out and yes, was able to access my attic and run wires according to code and install a shower light. My final cost was $495.00. It seems to me that you guys send your employees out to bid jobs and if they feel that they don't want to do it, they will simply overprice the job so the customer will decline the bid and yet you guys get paid the trip charge. I understand time is money but if you send someone that really doesn't want to be bothered with a simple small job, or its something that can't be feasibly done, why would you think the $79.00 charge would be fair. I have been a previous customer with SW Florida Electric, referred family and friends to your business and have felt that your prices seemed for the most part in line and fairly average, but this last visit was blatant price gouging attempt and really feel being charged for something that this technician didn't want to do is outrageous.

We wanted to get a whole house generator & got a few estimates. Jaron's quote covered multiple options as far as just labor install with or without selling the generator vs others that only offered a package deal where it was hard to compare components. In all cases SWFL was more than competitive. Any questions we had were promptly answered. The install couldn't have gone smoother & we wouldn't hesitate to calling them again ! Overall a great experience !!

Jaron and Jason did a fantastic job not only educating us about our backup system, but about our choices. We are now prepared for hurricane season, even though we hope we never have to use our new generator.

My home was struck by lightning and is not safe so my family has been staying in a hotel. I thought that their website was great and I emailed them over the weekend. By 8:30 on Monday, I followed up with a call and the person who answered the phone was very nice and said that she would get an inspection on the schedule for today and call me back with the time. At 11:30, she called to tell me that they were not able to complete the inspection or work in a timely manner, so I should call another company. Now, the electrical repairs will be pushed back another full day while I find another company, leaving my family in the hotel for an extra day. It was a disappointing experience.

I had this company out this morning to my mobile home as I needed 2 new ballasts in my kitchen lights. They arrived very promptly at the time promised and even gave a call 15 minutes before arriving. Job was done neatly and quickly. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs electrical work and will use them again in the future.
