I go by Leonard Salvatore Cipolla II. I have spent my life in and around the construction industry. My father was a talented carpenter and was proficient in many trades. I began working with my father after school, on weekends, and throughout summers before I even started high school. I gained experience in carpentry, including framing, drywall, spackling, and painting. When I graduated, my father insisted I explore either plumbing or electrical work. I opted to enter the electrical trade back then. As time passed, I accumulated experience across all trades, including Plumbing and Air Conditioning. I qualified my experience and passed all required examinations for the other trades. I am now licensed and insured in all trades. My company now has a team of over 30 employees and undertakes various projects, from light residential work to new construction. During this time, I met my wonderful wife and we have three amazing children. I am truly grateful for how everything has come together.

We recently got our house renovated and Southern Coast's electricians did an excellent job at the lighting work. Chris and Mike did a thorough job and also installed some ceiling light in our lounge after my wife requested them. We are very satisfied with our experience!

This company scammed me multiple times over the course of a couple of weeks before I realized what they are doing - unfortunately my gullibility cost me $8000.

On February 26, 2024, I had a scheduled air conditioning maintenance check with Southern Coast Services. As far as I could tell on this day, my air conditioner had been working fine, and this was just a service check. When my technician showed up, he went to the roof of my townhouse, where my AC unit is located.

He came down and said there was a serious problem - that multiple parts were about to die, and that it is dangerous to run the unit right now until they are able to replace the parts. My air conditioner was less than 3 years old, and all parts are still under warranty.

They quoted me $1221.30 in labor to repair the unit, and said they would need to leave it turned off until they finished the repair (which took them a week to do).

At that time I inquired how my air conditioner could be completely non-functional after only 3 years with regular maintenance. They sent over supervisors to do some more tests, and they told me after further investigation that no matter what they did with my unit (including completely replacing it) the unit will keep breaking because of problems with my duct work and venting system.

They told me this will increase the cost of the job to $6500. He said this was not an itemized list of repairs, but an all encompassing ""ONE STAR Package"" that ensures they will leave with everything operational.

At this point I was incredibly concerned. The technicians put me on the phone with the company's engineer, Nick, who told me that this is absolutely the fix that needs to be done. I expressed my worries, and asked what happens if they do these repairs and the unit still doesn't work. Am I going to then be hit with even more repairs while bearing the cost of the repairs that didn't work? Nick assured me that won't be a problem - that the package ensures all necessary repairs will be done to get the unit and duct/venting system operational. He said, directly ""if you buy this package, you will not have to call us for anything but regular maintenance for the next 10 years.""

So, they do the work, and my unit still doesn't work. I call them back and they said that my evaporator coil sprung a leak. They sent me an estimate for an additional $3500 in repairs (even though the part itself is under warranty - this is all labor and company profit).
- I told them I was promised the package I purchased would fix my problems, and Southern Coast's Director of Operations, Brad, told me that they can't just fix my AC for no money every time a new part breaks. I called another company for a second opinion. And they told me the following.

There is nothing wrong with my evaporator coil.

The leak in the unit was caused by the last person to work on the unit. He sent photos that showed a damaged factory process tube, which could only be caused by a human being interfering with it. As my unit is on the roof of my 2-story condo, Southern Coast technicians were the only people who had access to this space.

He sent pictures showing that the wiring of the previous repairs was sloppy, and dangerous due to the carelessness in which Southern Coast Technicians managed high voltage electrical cables.

He also said that the work Southern did to my duct system (Aerosealing and widening vents) would have in no way addressed the problems with the parts breaking in my unit, and any air conditioning professional would know this.

He charged me $1385 to repair the leak and the wiring problems both created by Southern Coast Services.

Based on this experience, there's no way for me to believe that Southern Coast Services was acting in my interest. And at worst, it's very possible that they purposefully and nefariously created all of the ""problems"" they reported specifically to scam me into purchasing more of their services.

Please stay away from this unethical, scamming company. My heater leaked today and i found water all over the floor, through the walls, into another bedroom. I was frantic and called this company to come out.
When Gareth showed up, he could not really explain why it was leaking but just the unit had burst.
He then went on to say that we had to replace it and took him like 20 minutes to ""work up "" a quote. The quote was for $4900.00 !!!!
My Rheem unit cost $500.00 in 2018, plus paid $250.. to have it installed.

When i said that that price was extremely high, his reply was, ""well did you guys have a price in mind i can try to get it down a little""!!!! We said, NO thank you"" Paid the $69.00 fee and said goodbye.
I then called COMFORT ZONE AIR CONDITIONING, INC. whom i had used before, and Chris, the owner came within 1 hour. He said that the unit looked like it was defective and should not be leaking where it was. He said the unit may still be under warranty. He picked up his phone & called Rheem and explained where the unit was leaking from and they said they would REPLACE IT. Chris told me he would drain the old unit and bring go get the new one and charge me a minimal fee just to install it.
This company could have done that. They knew the unit was fairly new. They could have done the right thing, but instead tried to rob us!
STAY AWAY!!

Beware of this company. My AC was working great, and they called me for maintenance. I haven't used them in over 3 years. Only used company to inspect  my house before buying and everything was good. Now I have to call another AC company to fix whatever they did just to get business from me. BEWARE
Couldn't post this without giving a star, but they don't deserve 1.

I can't prove that these guys are dishonest, but they're certainly ""economical with the truth"". They came to the house to install five smoke alarms and presented me with a bill for $1,579. When I questioned it I was told that it included new, state of the art products that had a ten year guarantee. Regrettably, I accepted this explanation. When I checked pricing the next day I discovered that the smoke alarms themselves had cost only $240, and that the rest was for ""installation"". I complained bitterly and was informed that company policy precluded itemization of costs for either estimates or final bills, that service charges are automatically invoiced at six times material costs (regardless of the time spent or the services provided) and that clients are not allowed to purchase the items to be installed. However they did tell me in an email that their charge included procurement of a seventeen foot ladder, which I hadn't requested and didn't need. If you care at all about fair prices and transparent disclosure don't even think about these guys unless you're absolutely desperate and have no alternatives that can meet your timing requirements.

Total scam company! Dishonest from the first call. I have a plumbing project, they wanted to send a technician. I objected to a technician because I did not need a repair but the response was all employees are considered technicians. Waited 2 weeks for the appointment 2 days before the appoint they had to cancel and reschedule. I chose cancel. Day of the original appointment (cancelled) they call and say a technician is in my area to do the repair and can arrive in 10 minutes. They don't have a clue.
