I called on one night and got an appointment for the next day. The guys gave me a call on my phone so I could come home from work and meet them at home. They saved me from a potentially disastrous situation! My electrical box was in terrible terrible condition and they recommended a completely new box. They were fairly knowledgeable and seemed genuinely concerned about my safety. They were so concerned that they did the work the same day for a great price (about 25% of what someone else had quoted me before I knew it was dangerous).
I wanted to get a quote for electrical grounding throughout the house but I dont think I ever got one. I'll definitely call these guys again though for anything electrical! These guys were awesome.

P.S. I didnt see they were giving a discount of 10% to yelp customers. I missed out :(

These guys are fantastic! I called this company earlier today and were able to come out SAME DAY! They even showed up early, which was great. What made them so awesome? They figured out how to fix (and actually fixed while they were here) three dead outlets, which two other electricians weren't able to do. Unbelievable! It's a given that we'll be calling them back for more work we need done. Very reasonably priced, too. I'm so happy we found these guys. Thanks, Yelp!

Called Ian for mounting a motion sensor light on the outside wall of my house. Sean and Derek arrived 30 minute late so that's a star minus. However they were nice people and most importantly, they did a fine work. I'd definately call them again in case I need more electic work done at my house.

Wonderful! Ian came to our place. WE HAD A BUDGET! Ian worked with our budget. We would have paid so much more. Ian and his team did great work! We thought our budget would only be for the garage side lights (SCONCES) and ONE outlet in our balcony! BOY WE WERE WRONG! He did everything you read and in our budget!

What did he do....

1. Installed a new outlet and prepped the wires so it won't be seen for my FLAT SCREEN LCD.
2. Installed outlet boxes for my balcony.
3. Looked at and FIXED my broken outdoor outlet (FOR FREE). He said it was just a loose wire and fixed it! Very honest!
4. My wife decided the night before to add lights to our garden. We didn't tell Ian until that morning. NO PROBLEM for him!
5. Installed a new outlet in the garage.
6. Installed the two lights (The side of the garage) See pictures above.
7. He even prepped it so that we can add a small fountain later in the future. (No charge)

I HIGHLY recommend South Bay Electric Company. NO BS here! Ian is straight to the point and will help you save money! (Especially now a days). He will give you different alternatives.

Down to earth person that doesn't give you the run around! I told my wife that we found an electrician for life!

Note: He did everything (with his team) in a few hours!

Ian Rocks!!! Can you give more than 5 stars???

In a nutshell, we're in the start of the first major storm of 2010, and I'm sitting here without heat. I have a heater technician come out and he says, ""doh, it's not the heater"" (ok , so those weren't his exact words). The problem is that you got no power to the heater. So its close to 5 pm and I call Ian (based on Yelp) hoping to get an appointment the next day. I explain the situation and he says I'll be there in 5 minutes. I was like, you're kidding right??? But Ian says it's gonna be cold tonight and I can't leave you without power. He arrives, and less then 20 minutes later everything fixed and the heat is back on. Shoot, even Domino's ain't that fast. So now I'm able to cancel my order for the Amish made fake fireplace, and return the Snugggies I bought to help keep the family warm - all because Ian fixed my heater problem.

I've used this company twice and have to recommend it to anyone who needs electrical work. Ian was really helpful. Very conscientious and just did great work. His prices are reasonable too. Cannot say anything bad about my two experiences. Simply put, if you need electrical work, call Ian.

I was very impressed with Ian and his crew. We had a job running a few thousand dollars, that needed to be complete ASAP. He came same day to give me a quote and on the day he promised he would be there he came, even though he was sick. He promised the job would be completed in a one day and it was! Even if it meant pulling several more guys in and making them work 12 hours straight! Also the quote he provided was the exact amount on his invoice. Highly highly recommend!

This cold front brought some strong wind last week and I was having some major power surges (I thought it was happening to everyone in the neighborhood but soon realized it was just my house). I came on here to find a really good reliable electrician and I tried South Bay first due to the reviews and I was not disappointed. He came over within an hour and half as I really needed to have this fixed before all my things got fried from the constant surges/spikes. Ian found out that the main power line (the one that keeps everything in check) had come apart from corrossion and the strong winds ultimately broke it off and yikes yes my tree which is in the way (will soon be calling a tree trimmer to get this fixed). He fixed it just in time before the big rain of the weekend came! PHEW! Thank you! Will be calling again for any other electrical needs that may come up. Call him!

I had South Bay rewire my 1000 sq ft home and the other yelp reviews are spot on. They did a good job and gave sage advice where needed. Replacing knob and tube in a plaster and lath house is messy, but they kept the work area clean everyday, in fact they cleaned up after themselves before moving onto the next room. As others have said, Ian is an all around good guy.
