Our overall start to finish my experience with Soltech Electric truly was start to finish what you would want and hope to get out of a specialized solar construction company. Brad the president who is also their senior consultant and sales was able to explain everything very accurately and he was extremely knowledgeable on rates, equipment and any questions that I had, which made the whole process a lot easier.

Some highlights of Soltech Electric:
-Very good customer service and communication. I was always able to get answers immediately direct from Brad and he is handles their project management.
-Soltech Electric definitely spent the time to allow us to fully understand everything and make decisions that were best for us including financing versus cash and also the equipment itself which made us feel great about our decisions.
-Soltech Electrics install crew has been installing solar for over 20 years and they are extremely experienced electricians so everything was clean and our install looks incredible.

As someone that has adequate experience in this field. I've certainly not just felt welcomed but learned a lot more than I thought I knew. This team has made my husband and I feel like it's more of a partnership. The explanations of over view for our solar spread sheets with the cost per unit energy output has us thinking of not just using this for our house but our business. After speaking the the team about the quality of the product and trust worthy warrantee . I suggest this company from start to install to the finishing touches.

5 stars! I'm so excited that we just wrapped up our solar install project and could not be happier!!! Everyone from Soltech that we worked with throughout the project was super responsive and communicated every step of the process, they were all great to work with and the install crew was phenomenal - showed up on time and scheduled the next days arrival time with me direct and I felt even comfortable after seeing their professionalism. From the beginning, the owner of Soltech explained and planned out the process very clearly so we could plan accordingly for any deliveries or equipment noise and/or power downtime since we have had to work from home the whole time. Soltech set expectations for timing, which was important because we upgraded our panel so there were contingencies to manage with SDG&E but they took care of everything and made it easy to understand and convenient for us. They even went to bat for us and helped cut down on the turnaround time for our panel upgrade. Actually exceeded our expectations and took all the stress off! 

Soltech also got us set up on the app and we're obsessed with tracking our solar! So far, with our 29 year financing we are saving 25 or 30% monthly even with the loan payment vs. what we were paying SDGE for electric before, so it was a no-brainer to make the upgrade. We have a new panel for future projects such as jacuzzi or indoor sauna etc too. We're so glad that our friends referred us to Soltech and based on our great experience we highly recommend! I had high expectations when I picked Soltech Electric because they do commercial jobs and custom/spec residential houses and because I heard that they were known for really great customer service being able to work with the president direct with questions on system design and overall Those expectations were met throughout the process 100%! The owner/lead project manager (Brad) has a lot of experience from how it is physically installed to the roof and also in regard to batteries and we decided against a battery after getting a full rundown on them and the cost. 

As a first-timer, I had a many questions for going Solar so I am glad I was able to do the presentation phone call with the project lead (I'm very detail oriented). I got every answer and even more and felt like I was guided the whole time with accurate info that was not just fluff or a sales pitch. Throughout the process, the Soltech install team continued to give me updates on the statuses of all aspects of the project as it was being installed and everything was very timely and pleasant, which made the whole install really easy. Once install started it took less than a week!

Now that the install of the solar panels is completely done I actually really enjoy tracking it and watching them generate energy, plus the savings will be huge based on the accurate and detailed financial analysis Soltech provided. They did a great job on the overall project execution too and I'm confident they'll provide support in the case of any issues or questions in the future if needed.  The install crew also does their commercial so I knew they were very qualified. 

The project was top notch from start to finish. I am definitely happy with my decision and confidently recommend them for your proposal and bidding and of course execution and quality of their install.

Soltech Electric was truly the best solar contractor for our needs and has top customer service.  I wanted to ensure that we went with a company that knew what they were doing because of our cut up roof and large variance in energy bills so I did a lot of research on companies that have good reviews and custom approach. Soltech Electric does all sorts of custom spec home installs, ground mounts and light commercial and they do roofing so it was a very detailed approach from the start.  I spoke to a handful of the big companies and ended up going with Soltech Electric because they were tied for the best bid price, and I knew the owner gives fair bids to make sure it isn't an over priced proposal.  Soltech also used my Green Button Data file, so instead of just one kWh value for the month, they used a file with 34,000 cells of information so the offset and financials were very accurate compared to other proposals. The cost spectrum on solar bids is pretty large so I wanted to go with the best company but at the right price.  I worked with the owner of Soltech Electric and he made sure to have my roof inspected to ensure the waterproofing paper was in great condition.  Other companies did not offer to evaluate my roof first, they simply presented their bids without asking about my roof conditions.  The process was super seamless I am happy I am able to leave a review for a job well done.  They do incredible work and it shows in the quality and professionalism from start to finish.

I talked to the owner of the company and could tell how knowledgeable he was from the start.  (And it was cool to work with the owner!) I had questions about module and inverter options because every company has a preference on the equipment that they provide or suggest and he was the only company to break it down unbiased and not try to sell what they use as the ""Best option"". We discussed warranty on the top 5 solar panel module brands that Soltech uses and it was very transparent and he discussed the difference in price and his recommendation if were his own home. His head installer did a fantastic job and he helped show me the monitoring portal and helped me set it up. What a great install crew and the crew all had 15-20 years of solar experience. Wow! Highly recommend getting a proposal with many different financing options and great pricing.

If you are reading this trying to determine which company to chose, I recommend going solar with Soltech Electric. My husband and I received one bid that was cheaper but I didn't feel very comfortable with that company so I wasn't worried about saving a small amount of money for what we may be getting. The whole experience start to finish was informative, on time and went smooth. Our house was a pretty straight forward install, but we still had a lot of questions about financing vs. cash and how the whole process worked to get a finished product that would save me money. Their financial analysis for the follow up meeting made it very easy for me to know how to decide between a cash purchase or the different financing options. We decided to finance it and I am happy I was able to come to that conclusion with accurate information. They were accommodating to my work schedule and set dates to do the work and were spot on for when they showed up and how long it would take. The install crew was very professional and the install went faster than I thought it would.

For the person who wants to go solar with a dependable company they can work closely with you and give you what you want Soltech should be considered. For me, it has been all over the news that larger National companies are more expensive and typically overall not as good of an option compared to local companies. Soltech is a 'must call' for solar info or to bid your project, it's that simple.
I feel compelled to leave this review to let everyone know Soltech did a great job and impressed me on the install portion! I have a carpet and power washing company so being a nitpicky person on details, I know first-hand a job can be done with excellence or fast/sloppy and the end result may not be overly noticeable to the eye, but the details makes a world of difference. For Soltech this means their roofing practices (*compared to other companies that assumed the roof's waterproofing paper was fine and it didn't need any attention and they didn't suggest re-doing the waterproofing paper). I knew better with a 16 year old roof on my house so with a brand new solar system I assumed it would be good to re-do the waterproof paper in the area of the solar system. Brad with Soltech was the only company to suggest this as their best practice. Brad explained their company belief on longevity of the system vs. getting a quick install done which resonated with me.
Soltech takes pride in delivering a service that isn't just putting panels on the roof. I couldn't be more pleased to know the roof and system will be saving me money for decades! My hat is off to Soltech for a job well done!

Although I didn't want to get too many bids, because it is time consuming, I still ended up getting 4 bids because it became entertaining to learn more about solar and also talk to some of the highest rated companies. Soltech was tied for the lowest bid. Price wasn't a huge factor for me but the reason I went with Soltech over Palomar Solar:

1) They are a small business that has done their due diligence and I can tell they will be around 10 years from now! I admire their dedication and believe they have a superior install crew after discussing the project in great detail. This is a very important factor for me and it should be for you too! They care about their customers and truly want to install a system the owner will be happy with. I feel good supporting a local small business with all of the pieces together.

2) Unlike other companies which had a specific system in mind, Soltech created a handful of different sizes at my request because I have a lot of roof space so I was able to compare an undersized and over sized system and tweak the bids a couple of times to fit my needs for future usage.

3) They aren't salesmen like some of the other companies, they run the company so they take pride in their work and the system rather than trying to close a deal for a commission.

4) They use the best inverters and roof mounting stands but they also allow the owner to feel out the module/inverter products and decide on what they want after their suggestions and pros/cons. This was very important to me and it was good to hear Soltech and their installers know what they are doing.
