I called 5 San Diego electricians on a Saturday and Phillip Solomon was the only one who called me back. He arrived on time two hours later, did the job in a few minutes, and charged a fair price. He was friendly, too. I'll call him again if I ever need electrical work.

This company is great. We called Phillip at about 4pm yesterday and he arranged to be at the office I was working at the next morning!!

This was great because I am from Florida and I needed to get the job done that I was working on in order to get home. Phillip even drove with me to Harbor Freight and another supply store to get other add on items needed for the air compressor. Great company. Very knowledgeable. The warehouse manager even asked for Phillip's card since he was so impressed.

I have used Solomon Electrical twice now. Once over a year ago. An outlet in the kitchen had quit working and I couldn't find the cause. Since we had just installed an under the sink small hot water heater I assumed it had something to do with it, but I saw nothing. I checked yelp and found Phillip. Called him and he was able to come out the same day. He explained the process of locating the source to me as he worked. Turned out it was an outlet about 8 feet away that the wires had come loose. It could have shorted and started a fire. Glad I found Solomon Electrical and glad he was able to come out fast.
2nd time I used him was just recently. We needed a new line from our panel to a new spa. All the work had to look like it was done original to the house we told him. Yes this causes more work for an electrician, but Phillip and his son did it exactly as we asked. We also asked that it all be permitted and inspected, no problem they said. All of this caused them to make several trips to our place to meet with the inspectors, and be here when the spa was delivered so to do the final hook up. Everything turned out perfect. They also referred us to a drywall person to redo the walls where they had to cut inside. He too was great.
We will continue to use Solomon Electrical and recommend them to our family and friends.

Truthfully I just got lucky when I took a chance on this company. I'm I glad I found them and since I found them they have taken over all my electrical repairs. With a older house and a pool I need help two or three times a month. Between 28 years owning a restaurant and 28 years home owner I get a good since of who knows there job. Phil knows what he is doing, he is easy to talk to, responds to your calls calls if there is a delay, has fair prices and best of all he doesn't cause big damage trying to fix a small repair. He's good!

Noticed on their website that they were veteran owned, my father is a veteran so this was an easy choice. Phillip arrived at my home at the time we scheduled was very friendly and confident. I had him install 2 lights in two separate rooms in my home. The job was complete without any problems under an hour and the price was very fair. Will be contacting Phillip and his father in the future with any electrical jobs!

My situation was a simple fix simply because I haven't done electrical work before. Philip is easy going, methodical, and efficient.
He came, went straight for the breaker, then went inside the kitchen so I can show him the outlet and stove hood that wasn't working. He didn't say too much when he arrived, but I speculate he was running troubleshooting ideas in his mind as he approached my home. As he started collecting data from his troubleshooting, he started to be more open and tell me what's going on. In my case, it was just a wire in one outlet that was loose/bad. He snipped off a piece and reconnected it. The thing is, I checked that outlet and it works and has always worked during my 14 years in the house. Turns out, wiring is daisy-chained from outlet to outlet [I learned something]. Because I am an IT guy, I started asking all sorts of questions so I can do better troubleshooting in the future. He answered everything and offered all sorts of information that will help me. It is clear that he likes what he does and is more than happy to share information and experiences.
In my case, his work was extremely efficient and he passed on invaluable knowledge so that I may troubleshoot myself. I will definitely call on him again.

Home Depot provided company two different days with my cell number to contact me for an estimation on a ceiling fan installation. Didn't call either. Perhaps they should remove their name as a contact from Home Depot. Good thing another contact from Home Depot's list called and actually installed two fans for me vice just the one I originally intended.

I did receive a phone call and email from the company. They informed me they were out of town when the original info was sent to them, but called upon their return. Based on the contact, I have to presume that they mean well.

Some day I'll learn. The first time I had Solomon Electric out was just after we'd purchased our house. We wanted to install some smart light switches that could be controlled via our phones. I tried. I failed. I called Solomon and they were out the next day to fix what I'd messed up.

The second time was a few weeks ago. I needed to have 6 Nest Protect smoke/carbon monoxide detectors put in, some switch timers and a Z-wave ceiling fan controller.. Thankfully I knew better than to even attempt putting the switches in and called Solomon instead. They were out the next day and had everything up and running within a few hours.

Most recently, today, I tried installing a Wink Relay in place of a wall switch. Not only did I fail miserably at installing it, I also managed to blow 6 track lighting transformers and lost power to my garage. I immediately called Solomon Electric and within an hour or so they were here fixing my mess again and it all works perfectly.

Same day service for a fair price. I was really pleased with how fair the owner was and how quickly he diagnosed the problem with our outlet. Give them a shout when you are in need!

Power went out on the front part of my house and garage on Sunday morning. After resetting the fuses, the power would come back on for a little while and then went out again. As it was not an emergency, I researched electricians on Yelp, liked Solomon's reviews, and decided to call them Monday morning.

I called Solomon Electric at 8:15am. They said they would be able to come by between 9:30-10am. The owner and his son, plus helper, arrived exactly at 10am. After troubleshooting the problem, which ended up being more than one issue, I have a couple new outlets and breakers, lots of great info about future upgrades, and a better understanding of the electric that is in my house.

Very reasonably priced, all parts needed they had in their trucks, and they were able to come out almost immediately. Very professional, friendly, and took the extra time to ensure I understood what was done and what upgrades may be needed once the Underground project in the neighborhood is ready to connect to my property.

I will definitely use them again and would refer them to others!
