Recommended Customer Reviews

After the freeze in February contacted Generac about getting a whole house generator. They connected me with solarator who was supposed to contact me by the 1st part of April. Never got a phone call text message or anything. Found Citywide Electric who is a Generac authorized dealer And within days I had my Generac ordered, delivered and installed in a timely And professional manner. Thank you solorator for never responding.

Buyer Beware! I contracted with Solarator Electric LLC Darryl Ford on 03/19/20 for a 22kw backup generac generator for my home at a cost of $12,000.00. The generac generator was not permitted nor commissioned by CPS as required. It appeared that Darryl Ford did not know what was required by the city to install a backup generator. I relied on his expertise to do what was necessary to install the generator and identify all cost to install. He never mentioned permits and who would pay for them when negotiating the contract price. The generator was finally commissioned by CPS a year later on 03/05/21 the final step with the city and CPS.
The requirements for the generator permit was brought to my attention on 08/04/20 when I contracted With Green Light Solar LLC/Green Family Energy to install additional solar panels to my existing system. Green Family Energy was denied a permit to install additional solar panels because the generac generator on site was not permitted by the city nor commissioned by CPS as required. They were told that the installer of the generator had to get a permit with the city and get it commissioned by CPS prior to them issuing a permit to install additional solar panels. Darryl Ford required me to pay for the permit $281.46 before he would do anything. It took months to get the generator cleared with the city and CPS. The city issued a clear final inspection for the permit on 11/04/20 but it still was not commissioned by CPS. Darryl Ford was very difficult to deal with through this process. He was hard to reach and did not return phone calls. The generator was then turned off on 12/16/20 by city instruction upon completion of the additional solar panels due to non commissioning of the generator by CPS. I was without electricity during the severe weather between 02/15-18/21 and my water pipes broke as a result of no heat. Due to my efforts, I was able to schedule an appointment with CPS. However, Darryl Ford refused to be present at the CPS inspection for commissioning despite their request. The inspection was performed without him and was commissioned on 03/05/21 along with the new solar panels. Solarator Electric only has a drop box for an address with no physical address for the business. Darryl Ford moves frequently and hard to find. He moved approximately 20 times in 2020. Therefore, I recommend you take pictures of his vehicle when he comes and goes as well as his workers vehicles. Given what I know today I would never do business with Solarator Electric.

I had a 14kw Generac generator installed by Solarator Electric in 2012. The generator has worked flawlessly each time we've had a power outage in our neighborhood. Darryl from Solarator Electric is a master electrician that is an expert in the installation and maintenance of backup generators. I would not hesitate to call him back if I needed a replacement in the future.

Installed a 14-50 240V outlet for an electric car charger. Done right the first time. Very professional. I rate the highly.

Always on time, very courteous, very attentive, willing to make changes, coming up with new ideas to make things simpler for us! Class act!! Brandon and Jay are great guys who love what they do!!!

Timely, fair pricing, friendly and easy to work with! I've had them out numerous times to troubleshoot and install things both at home and work and have never been disappointed.

Extremely disappointed-paid $330 for 5 minutes of diagnosing my breaker trip-basically they put old lightbulbs back in my ceiling fan-took 5 minutes. Just a warning to you-I don't know if anyone who would think that kind of money was worth that!

Hired them to drill a hole through the brick on my house to run a cable. This is the end result. Damaged property, no compensation, and no solution to fix my home. Do not use them.

All the power in my garage died over the weekend, so that's the opener, the deep freezer, the beer fridge and the sprinkler panel and water softner. Naturally this all happened Sunday morning in the middle of Texas only annual rainstorm so I wasn't optimistic about getting it fixed quickly. I called three different electrical companies and Solarator was the first to return my call. Darryl promised me he'd get somebody out there ""this morning"" (it was only 8:00AM when I called) and indeed he did. The technician was thorough and professional and found and fixed my issue in about ten minutes (loose wire in an outlet, something I wouldn't have been able to fix on my own) along with answering all my questions. Electricians aren't cheap and I thought the price was reasonable ($75 for the service call and $150 for an hour's work) especially with such a quick response time on a rainy Sunday morning. I was pleased with the service and will call them again if I need to, along with recommending them to y'all, my Yelp pals!

I had a few simple jobs that I needed help with. I called them up and they scheduled me for the very next day. I got a call from the electrician confirming the time and I got an email re-confirming my 4pm appointment.
4pm comes...and goes.
430pm comes...and goes.
445pm I call the dispatcher who apologized and said they'd contact him right away to find out where he is and would call me back very soon.
6pm comes...and goes.
The next business day has also come and gone. Not one call returned.
And now I've come...and gone.
