Smart Choice Electric Service recently assisted me in upgrading the service at my 45 year townhouse to meet current city code.

When I called for an estimate they responded quickly (within 24 hours), came to the property to inspected; evaluated what was needed for the upgrades and provided a detailed estimate including quality materials they used to complete the job.

Ruben Murillo is the project manager woh provided the service. He is very professional, communicated well, set understandable expectations through out the process and is reliable to his word. The work was completed efficiently; everything was vacuumed and cleaned up - all trash removed from the site when the job was completed. The new electric breakers clearly labeled; Ruben made sure I know how to open the panel check the breakers, how operate mechanicals safety cutoffs that were installed and gave me a detailed understanding of the circuits in the home.

Smart Choice Electric Service was recommended to me by word of mouth referral and because of my experience, I will recommend this company to others.

I called the number listed on Yelp and there was no answer on the other end of the line.

I tried again thinking that it sounded odd. They must use some online phone forwarding system.

To my surprise a few moments later when I was on the phone with a company that actually answers their phones, I get six consecutive calls from a different number 832-228-3409.

After getting things set up with the more professional company, I realize that the person had texted me ""f@$% you.""

When I called them back the guy said that someone had been calling his number and ""messing with him.""

Not sure who you have representing your company at that number but he would not be representing me.

Had a bit of a miscommunication initially but Ruben came and saved the day! Last week, we moved into a new home and needed two flush mount chandeliers installed in our master closet. Ruben met with my husband, gave a quote, and installed them within 30 minutes! He was kind and courteous and apologized for the miscommunication. I highly recommend him and SmartChoice to anyone needing electrical repairs and/or help!

Unfortunately cannot recommend Smart Choice. They came to our home to install two ceiling fans contracted through our home warranty company. We were working from home inside the house and gave instructions to let him get to work and then went back to our business and said just holler if he needed anything.

Both fans were installed fine however when he finished and was heading out the door we noticed they drilled remote holders for the fan into the wall, which we were not asked if we wanted them or where they would even go. We did not plan to mount the remote, and you would think you would be asked in your own home before someone mounts something on the wall for you without even inquiring about it. To make matters worse both remotes were installed completely off centered/random and one you can clearly see another hole that was drilled and not even attempted to cover.

When I called about this all I got was a ""oh he tried to center them, sorry..."" and now we get to spend more time and money to remove, cover, and repaint the holes. You shouldn't have to watch your service provides like a hawk while they work nor should they do anything they weren't asked or instructed to do without checking.

I chose this company because all of their electricians are Covid-19 vaccinated and they adhere to CDC guidelines and protocols when providing services in your home or business. I was able to modernize my home at a fair and reasonable price in comparison to other quotes I received and I am very happy with how everything turned out!

I am giving a proper 5 stars to Smart Choice electric. They were very good on coming to my home to develop a quote and they were able to amend that quote even after they sent it to me because I had to change a few things after I considered the cost. They were terrific at explaining the work and helping me prioritize which work would be of the most value to my needs. They showed up promptly on time for all quotes and service jobs, they asked lots of questions during execution to ensure that they were delivering what I wanted, the quality and finish of the work is terrific. They even helped me out with a few other things as well. Very good, very reasonable prices, excellent on time service, excellent quality and finish, and excellent pre and post sale service. I am personally thrilled with every aspect of the job. I hired them to replace a Pacific Electric breaker, install a whole house surge protector, add a few circuits, add a few outlets, and run some data wires. If that is the kind of work you need then you should call Smart Choice.

I really appreciate that they were able to come out the very next day. The gentleman that showed up was very professional and knowledgeable. Turns out it wasn't an electrical problem however he took the time to show me and explain to me that it was a hot water heater issue. Great customer service. Will be using in the future.

Fast, prompt, and a good price. Needed electrical outlets moved in a new commercial spot and a light switch installed along with adding a neutral wire.

They don't quote over the phone but come out and give a free estimate. They promptly came out and gave me a good estimate. I hired them for the job. The following day they came and knocked it out in under four hours. They cleaned up well and left no remains.

They returned the following day to pick up a check. I wanted a switch changed out which they did complimentary (very nice of them)

This company is all about customer service and getting the job done right. Price was market and pretty competitive. Will keep them in my Rolodex forever. Very satisfied with their work!

I've been using Smart Choice (Atlai) for electrical work on my primary residence and my rental properties for 4 or 5 years. If I had to guess, I would say he's done about 20 or more jobs for me. I can't say enough good things about his service. He is reliable, fair-priced and always guarantees his work. He's very quick to swing by and give me a quote and it's never a bait and switch. Always reasonable, always fair. And, on top of the great service, he's a very nice guy. Strongly recommended.
