We had our second charger installed at our new place this week, and we relied on Smart Charge again as we knew they would do it right. Clay Johnson and Rudy Ramos were fabulous! We had everything done and charging in about an hour, and it looks great to boot. We highly recommend SmartCharge so you get great products and you know they're installed well.

I got a Tesla wall charger installed in my garage, on the opposite side of the electric breaker panel. My wall charger was ordered directly by me through Tesla but it wasn't delivered on time. Smart charge offered to put their own tesla wall connector and then later take mine whenever it got delivered.

We didn't have to go that route as i got my delivery same day but i appreciated having that option.

Their process of providing estimate is good. It requires uploading photos of your site and then someone reviews it and gets back to you with more questions or clarifications

The installation was smooth and timely and professional. They know what they're doing and recommend you the best practices.

I used Smart Charge for the second time, for a new house with a detached garage. Overall it was a good experience, but I did have one complaint. The conduit was run outside the wall, exposed to the interior room (a garage, but still not ideal), rather than being run inside the wall. This was done without asking me. When I complained, they offered to re-do it, but I would have to pay a drywall company to repair it afterward. I decided that my investment in the charger was enough and I didn't want to deal with finding a drywall company, coordinating it all, the extra cost, etc. This could have been avoided by a better discussion up front about where cables were going to be placed and how the conduit would be run. I will point out that many people have found lower pricing through a regular electrician. But since the city of Austin will pay half for the install and the charger, it's worth it to pay more up front to get the rebate. I also support businesses that get into these new markets, and appreciate the risk they take on - having done it myself in the biodiesel world. I would use them again, but would be more prescriptive in my instructions.

I highly recommend Smart Charge America in Austin, Texas. This week I had a fantastic experience with their installation of a Tesla wall charger. The Initial communication to offer available installation times was simple and helpful. Josh, Travis & Karina arrived and immediately started determining whether the additional sub-panel included on the bid sent via Tesla was necessary. This analysis started without any prompting or questions from me! They evaluated my electrical system and determined my home already had plenty of capacity for my Model3 without expanding the panel. In my case everything was done in 90 minutes. Now I can charge overnight at over 40 miles per hour. Their expertise and integrity saved me significant dollars! This is the way to build a business and make me even more satisfied with buying an electric car. BTW, check out Austin Energy's GreenChoice program which prompts the development of more Texas wind power generation to cover the needs of your home and at minimal additional cost!

First of all, I will give Smart Charge credit for quick action...in the beginning. After having me send in photos to provide a series of quotes, the work started quickly. Unfortunately, it also quickly ran into problems. First of all, the original quote 'forgot' to include the proper permits to do electrical work on our home. Once reminded, our quote went up a couple of hundred dollars.

The installation of the charger was quick but then we encountered issues with passing the inspection to get the permit finalized. Smart Charge wasn't familiar with the inspection process in our area and thought they could just 're-educate' the inspector to get the inspection to pass although the inspector was adamant that our electrical panel was insufficient to run the charger as it was installed.

We ended up bringing in a second electrician who was able to upgrade our electrical box and worked to get BOTH our permits signed off.

I'm glad the process is finally complete and came in under 3 months if not under budget.

Smart Charge America came out today to install a Tesla outlet charger and sent out 2 hard working men, Travis and Clay. They were not only professional, but had excellent work ethic, and ensured everything was up to our standards. They didn't leave without making sure everything was working properly and we appreciate such great service. Sometimes great service like this by Travis and Clay are hard to come by. So, thank you both for your hard work and dedication. It doesn't go unnoticed!

Overcharges for work actually done by inflating the amount of wire required for the installation. After the work was done they left a mess in my garage. I spoke to a gentlemen claiming to be the VP of the company and all he would do is go over and over things that were not pertinent to the questions I asked. Clearly an attempt to dodge the fact they were up-charging the cost of installation.

Go elsewhere and get better service at a cheaper price.

I just had my Tesla wall charger installed in Austin, Texas and the two individuals (Josh and Josh) were professional, friendly and very efficient.
They worked well as a team and that made the installation quite easy.
I questioned how the install might go since my home and barn were built in 1907 and I was told over the phone that the electricians coming to my property would make it work and not to worry.
Josh and Josh arrived, listened to my questions and offered solutions and so I didn't worry.

I am one happy customer and my Tesla charges so so fast!

We recently had them install a Tesla wall charger in our garage and their company is one of the few in Austin listed specifically on the Tesla website. They were honest, professional and very efficient. Our car arrived earlier than planned and Mark was happy to move our appointment up to make sure it was ready by the time we brought the car back. They arrived on time, called 30 mins ahead and cleaned up any debris from their work area. We are happy we went with them and will highly recommend their work!
