Sid was fabulous. He answered my call immediately. He talked me through the steps of a broken outlet replacement to save me the cost. However I was too nervous to handle the older live wires so he came the same day and made the repair in ten minutes. He charged a great price. Sid was at the top of his game. I live in San Diego and own rental property in San Leandro. When our tenant called because the main breaker to the house was tripping I did a yelp search and read reviews on various Electrical Service Companies. Impressed by the 21 very positive 5 star reviews, I called and got him immediately. He had a small job to complete and would be over directly, and he was. Living 6 hours away I depend on professional craftsmen when a tenant has problems and Sid did not disappoint.

Sid said he would evaluate the problem and call me. He did all the checks, found some loose connections in a sub panel, which had been contributing to flickering lights. He checked and tightened those. Found a doubled up breaker, which he corrected by adding another breaker and moving the circuit. All these things were found and corrected on the way to solving the main breaker issue.

After doing full load testing and reviewing the conditions on the day the breaker failed repeatedly, we consulted and decided to replace the main breaker. Upon removing the breaker he found the problem, a hot spot next to the wire terminal. An old breaker, aluminum wiring and repeated remodeling had finally caught up to us. New breaker in, strip and re-coat wires, back in business.

I would highly recommend SJN Electric and Sid. He was on time, went the extra mile to find all the possible problems not just the one I called him for, and did it all very quickly. He worked with my tenants and they were delighted that he explained things to them. Sid has a well stocked truck, saving time on parts. Best of all his rates are very reasonable. I will use him again and you should too.

Sidney is utterly amazing. If I was able to give 10 stars, I would. Professional, timely, considerate and has excellent follow through. He has worked on a couple projects for me- electrical for sump pump and my dishwasher. Both work seamlessly. He responded to my texts almost immediately- I am not sure if the man sleeps- I work nights and I was surprised to get a text so quickly during sleeping hours. He even came by my house at 0700 before I had to take the minions to camp- which was exceedingly helpful and very much appreciated!! Thank you so much, Sidney! You are the bomb!!

Sid helped me get the power back on in a circuit of blown outlets. I called him up and described my problem, he offered some suggestions which I had already tried (flip the breakers switches, press the reset buttons, etc.), so we scheduled a visit. When he arrived he had a great attitude and was friendly and polite. We looked over the outlets and breaker box and he noticed right away what had blown the circuit. Fixed the whole thing without any tools. I was so glad to have power back on and glad it didn't cos an arm and a leg! I will call Sid when I need an electrician again!

Less than 2 hours after my call, Sid came out on Memorial Day morning to diagnose & repair an electrical issue that was cutting off power to our refrigerator & other parts of our house. He probably would have been there sooner but was dealing with a family emergency. We called 2 other electricians around the same time--one who hasn't yet called back & another who couldn't see us until the next morning. That's perfectly understandable since it was a holiday but we're so relieved that Sid made time to help us anyway. He was done quickly, his pricing was more than fair & at our request he stuck around for an informative consultation on some less urgent electrical work we've been thinking about. Definitely highly recommend SJN and expect we'll use them again.

Saw SJN's good reviews by fellow yelpers so I called about a fairly large electrical job and he arranged to come to my house to quote a job. First time we agreed he'd make it over sometime the next day but he couldn't say exactly when but he'd call ahead of time. I was OK with that since I was home most of the day anyway. He never showed and never called. I called him at the end of the day and he had some excuse about his truck - he should have called me to re-schedule but whatever. Anyway, he said lets re-arrange for the next day. I was hesitant because I had a busy day and he'd let me down once, but he said he wanted to make it happen so I said ok. He assured me he would be over between 10 - 12. Never showed, never called again. The following day he texts me as if nothing is up and says hey lets meet tomorrow at 1.00pm. At this point I figured he's probably just unreliable so said no thanks.

First bad review for SJN by the looks of it so perhaps this is out of character, the guy seems nice enough but missing appointments like that is just bad form.

Sidney or ""Sid"" came out to my house last week to repair wall socket which burned out a few weeks ago that caused a loss of power to an entire wall. Upon calling SJN he made sure he was able to make it out as quickly as possible the same day I made the call. In short when he arrived, he already had theories on what was going on and immediately got to work. He finally found that the wiring in our house was ancient and the wire had deteriorated and when the last person came through to install an extra outlet they had just shoved the wiring back in the wall without verifying that it was ok. It had been worn to a thread so when I ran the vacuum cleaner it just finally burned the wire away. He confidently repaired the problem and made sure the problem would never happen again. I told him I appreciate people that know what they are doing and get the job done quickly and efficiently and he is one of them. He was in and out under an hour and charged me reasonably. He even uses a Square so you can run your visa. That is true service! I recommend Sid if you ever need electrical fixed in your house.

Sid, is a great guy. Awhile back he did an amazing job on all the electrical work for a cottage we added to our property. We started to have some electrical issues in our main house recently and decided we needed to involve an electrician. I immediately thought of Sid and gave him a call. He was over in 20 minutes and discovered the problem was not really a problem but user error on our part. He quickly showed us what was wrong and didn't charge us for his time. We are very impressed with Sid and will always use him for any electrical needs we may have in the future. I highly recommend him to anyone!

Sid has worked on a few things in our old house and each time he has done beautiful work in record time!!!! He is always pleasant to work with and very witty!

Last time I saw him was a few months ago when he was working on some plugs in our bathroom. We asked him if it was possible to put a light fixture in the basement so that I wouldn't be doing laundry with the light of one dim bulb. He said, ""no problem"" cheerfully & by the time I had gone to the store & back, he had already finished the original job upstairs AND put in a really great, clean-looking light fixture in the basement! Everything was as clean as if no one had even been there. Amazing!

Today, on a Saturday late afternoon the day before Easter, half of the lights in the house suddenly went out! I called Sid because he's our trusted electrician & after ascertaining what potentially was wrong over the phone ( I went out to the breaker box and threw some switches for awhile) he came right over. He arrived within 20 minutes, tossed off some good-natured jokes & got right to it. Before 30 minutes had elapsed, he had figured out not only what was wrong, fixed it and also pointed out some old asbestos that he suggested we have professionally removed.
