I just had a complete re-wire of my entire house done by Simpson Electric. Our home had knob and tube wiring and the prior owner was an amateur electrician who had done some pretty gnarly stuff. It was a huge job and they were working for the better part of 3 weeks.

It included:
* removing my old knob and tube
* rebuilding and moving my original wiring panel with fuses into a 200 amp panel
* building a sub-panel in the home
* wiring cat 6 throughout the home
* interfacing with the city inspectors/permits
* interfacing with PGE to get a new drop-line

I couldn't have asked for a better team in Nic and Jessie.

Throughout the whole process, Nic was great with communication. He kept me informed at the right level. It wasn't too much information such that we was burying me in technical jargon and too many details, but he was also patient with any questions I had. He worked with me to design the best spot for our new sub-panel and took into consideration future renovation plans.

Before the process, I was worried about how disruptive the re-wire would be, and I was amazed. These guys worked extremely hard to ensure that they didn't make any unnecessary cuts to my internal sheet-rock. They also kept the whole house powered virtually the whole time.

I also really appreciated that Nic pointed out small hazards and things to check on as a home-owner. For example, he saw some issue with our gutters and pointed them out. The prior owner had a halogen bathroom light that had started to melt our ceiling and the wiring above the fixture. The prior owner had cut the garage sensors and we have little kids. These are little things, and some are obvious. With the new house and all the things we had to do to move in, it was easy to lose lots of these things in the shuffle. I really appreciate that Nic made a point to bring them to my attention.

This was a big job, and it wasn't cheap; but I couldn't have spent our money better. I feel much safer and much better knowing that we have a sound electrical system. If you are getting a major job done, like me, you should always get a few estimates. But in the end, I'm confident that you'll come to the same conclusion. Simpson Electric is the team you want to have do your work for you. If it's a small job, cut to the chase and call Nic today.

I had some minor light additions and fixture replacements and the team did outstanding work. They completed all the projects in less time than promised and left all work areas spotless. I highly recommend Nic of you need a highly qualified electrician.

""A job well done""! to Nic and his crew, after installing what Nic called the ""Trifecta"" of electrical jobs: Install new main service panel, inside distribution panel and hooked up an electric car charging station at the front porch ( with an extra 110 volt outlet ) all in one day! Nic and crew started work on time, did high quality work, passed the Burlingame city inspection with no problems and left the job site clean. Nic is very knowledgeable in his trade and the finale cost came in under his original estimate. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Nic again for electrical work and I would highly recommend him for electrical projects.

Nic is the real deal. He really knows how to deal with the very old electrical systems that most of the houses on the peninsula have. One quick anecdote to demonstrate the service that Nic provides... I called him on a Friday evening with a question. He came over to the house at 7 PM on a Friday and checked it out. Amazing service!

He was quick, friendly and efficient and his prices were amazing. I will never again struggle with electrical issues at my house myself. I highly recommend him!

I was recommended to Simpson Electric by our community email group. It was a great recommendation and we were extremely pleased with how our home ended up. Nic was able to solve some very complex problems with how to get recessed lighting in our ceiling that is over 18 feet high and has a narrow to non-existent crawl space. I had met with 2 other people, one was not licensed, and both were trying to charge more for the high ceiling. His experience and acumen are very impressive. He even asked if he could fix any other electrical issues I might have. He did a tour and noticed we had a poor job done by the prior owner in our room above our bed with 2 cans. He said, let me change those out for you and get them upgraded at the cost of only the parts. He threw it in as part of what we already agreed upon. His work was very neat and well done. Nic is a very honest, well experienced, licensed, and pleasant person to work with. His price is also fair for the value you receive. I would highly recommend Nic to anyone.
