Recommended Customer Reviews

The electrician went above and beyond what was expected. He was on time, efficient, and very knowledgeable. He took care of the problem quickly. Can't recommend them highly enough. Very satisfied customer in Taylor Texas.

One local electrician failed to return calls and emails, then another one failed to show up at the least minute. But no worries, because Sierra Electrical Services came to our rescue. Polished, professional and best of all, they responded promptly to our request for sane-day installation of numerous lighting fixtures, two of which required a scaffold for a twenty foot ceiling. Thank you, Xavier, and thank you, Renee. Finally we know where to turn when we need really good and well qualified electricians.

They are also known as Mr. Sparky..
I called them and told them my problem.. I was told they have trucks all over town including south Austin.. He was supposed to be here @ 4pm.. He calls me at 4 pm and he is at 183 and Balcones.. A good hour drive in the traffic..He said he could give me a price over the phone before I driver down south..
He said I can tell you it will cost $688.. for the breaker and labor.. No hourly fee, just $688..
I at the point felt I was fixing to be ripped off..
I called another guy and he was there in 30 minutes.. It took him exactly 8 minutes to replace the breaker.. The breaker was $7..He only wanted $50 !!! I tipped him another $20..
Saved $618..!!
Use them at your own risk..

i will never use this company!!! one of their drivers almost caused a wreck on i35!!! driving like a bat out of hell!!! i was in the far right lane, moving along with traffic and this van flew past me like i was standing still!!! no regard for the company and no regard for the other lives on the road this morning @ 7:20 am. on 9/11/15. kinda morbid, trying to take out more lives on this day of remembrance!!! way to go!!!

I had a stellar experience with this company and did not experience any of the things that the one-star yelpers mentioned in their comments. One yelper mentioned looking at the BBB website. While this company is not accredited with the BBB, they have had ZERO complaints with the BBB in the last 3 years.
My Home Warranty had Sierra Electric (Mister Sparky) come to my home to address an electrical issue. Rene came to my home at 315pm (window I was given for a technician to arrive was between 3-5). He was in uniform, clean cut and very professional. He was extremely thorough in trying to find the problem and very informative (in layman's terms). Because of the nature of the problem, he was unable to locate where the ""break"" in the electrical current was coming from. He informed me of all of the possible solutions and that he would have to contact my Home Warranty to approve the additional work and come back. I received a call from the scheduler at Sierra by the next business day informing me that the Home Warranty approved more time to find the problem and scheduled another window of time that the same technician would return (3-5). Again, Rene was at my house at 315 and he brought a Master Technician with him in order to expedite locating our electrical problem. Within an hour, they were able to locate and fix the problem, which it was discovered that another electrician from another company that had just performed work in our home had created the problem. I am so thankful for these guys at Sierra Electric and I WILL have them back to my house for any electrical issues/needs that I may have in the future.

On two occasions we have had electrical issues in our home. Both times our warranty company sent out Sierra. Both times the service was great.
The first occasion our wired smoke alarms were malfunctioning, as well as our upstairs furnace. The tech discovered that for some odd reason our smoke alarms and furnace were wired to the same circuit. They were able to fix the problem and got us approved for new smoke detectors from our warranty company which they came back a day later and installed.
The second occasions our power went out. The tech showed me our breaker box, and that the main breaker and several others has completely burned out. With no power, a fridge full of food going to spoil, and no AC in the middle of May with an 18 month old child in the house, the tech had his scheduler clear his day so he could take the time needed to replace and rewire the breaker panel so we did not have to go another day without power. He even had his boss, the master electrician, come out to assist him.
My wife and I are very happy with our two experiences with Sierra. I don't recall the name of the tech that came out both times, but he was super friendly and knowledgeable.

I had a good experience with Sierra's tech Gerzain Mendoza.
Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, etc. I'd be happy to have Gerzain out again if we have any electrical issues in the future.
Sierra came to me through my AHS home warranty and I also hired them for a 2nd electrical job that wasn't covered by the warranty.

The Issue: we occasionally have problems with humming coming through some electrical equipment in the living room when we plug in other things in the bedroom. This happened again when we plugged in new satellite boxes. This indicates that there is an ungrounded wire somewhere in our electrical system. I called American Home Shield, and they assigned this excuse for an electrical company to us. The assignment? Check the electrical system.
""The Experience:"" The initial appointment scheduling itself was a bit odd. I was informed of the time and date they would arrive. When I said that wouldn't work, the scheduler seemed annoyed, as if I were inconveniencing them.
Then guy from Sierra -- I don't want to insult actual electricians by referring to him as one -- showed up and claimed that Direct TV caused the problem (they don't do any wiring or anything that would affect the wiring) and that the policy didn't cover stereos (no, we weren't trying to do an end around to get AHS to fix speakers. My husband wouldn't allow anyone he hadn't known for decades near his stereo system). Since we had experienced humming and power surges in other parts of the house and since we plug the satellite receiver into the wall just like we plug every other electrical appliance into the wall, it was clear the guy from Sierra couldn't understand what we were saying or didn't know what to do or didn't care or D, all of the above.
When asked to run a diagnostic to at least check for a problem, he refused since, as he said, he was getting money from AHS no matter what. He called their authorization department and told them we wanted him to fix a stereo speaker that DirectTv had damaged, none of which was true. I had to call AHS and explain what actually happened. They assigned Sun-Tech Electric.
""The Resolution:"" Sun-Tech did what Serra refused to do -- address, find and fix the problem. Heath at Sun-Tech was professional and efficient. If you use AHS, tell them you won't accept Sierra as a vendor and to send Sun-Tech instead.

How many electricians does it take to fix a bathroom fan?
Four: One to diagnose the problem. One to forget to order the part. One to show up, but leave the part in the office. And the last one to arrive an hour late to finally fix it.
If you love calling companies to follow up on the status of your repair, look no further, Sierra Electric is the choice for you.

Thanks Mark for figuring out how to get my treadmill to run without throwing out every braker in the house. Awesome job and quick service. He was on time and very professional.
