My pool equipment suddenly stopped working last weekend and I found that the GFCI breaker had tripped. I tried resetting it a few times but it kept on tripping.

I began troubleshooting the issue and testing different segments of the circuit, finally fearing the worst, that the underground feeder line had been chewed up by a chipmunk and would have to be replaced. That was an expensive proposition.

Thinking that the wiring was in underground conduit, I attempted to pull new wires through, but quickly discovered that it was direct buried in the ground without conduit... But not before I cut some of the UF to help pull it. I ended up damaging the cable at both ends and made it too short.

I began looking for electricians who work on pool hookups and found Shockley. I left a message on Saturday July 3rd, and Christian called me back within 5 minutes. After listening to the explainable of the problem, he stated it was an extremely small chance that the UF cable was damaged.

After coming out to look at the issue and provide a few estimate, Christian and his crew (3 additional guys) came out and got me back up and running by fixing the mess I made and were able to determine it was a faulty GFCI breaker causing the problem.

They did a great job cleaning things up afterwards as well.

Next time I'm calling Shockley Electric before I make a mess of things!

I called and left a message and they responded shortly thereafter and were able to come out the very next day. As with any home repair/issues, it's always scary and something you want to address immediately.

Christian and his team were incredibly courteous, respectful, honest and extremely reasonably priced.

All of the previous reviews here on Yelp are accurate. I called and texted Christian for a job estimate involving 2 ceiling fans and 3 pendant light replacements. He gave me an estimate (which he stuck to). Because he is busy, we could not get on his schedule for two weeks. In the meantime I contacted another company that provided me a free estimate upon arrival to do the job, and they were much higher (and only sent one man for the job).
Christian arrived with another electrician, and they did an excellent job of hanging the ceiling fans and lights. They were professional, prompt/on time and helpful. Christian was always responsive to my calls or texts. If you are looking for a decent and good electrician, he's the one for you. He's worth waiting for.
