In 1977, Master Electrician Billy Don Shirley launched our company in Lockhart, Texas, Shirley Electric has been a reliable presence in the community for 35 years. After Billy Don's retirement in 1999, his son, Master Electrician James Bliss, assumed ownership. James has continued the legacy of service that his father built.
James, the son of founder Billy Don, has been in the electrical field since he was 16. Following his father's retirement in 1999, James became the owner of the company.

Had James come out and finish up wiring our shop. Did an excellent job, gave us helpful recommendations, and completed the job quickly. Very happy and satisfied with his work

We had an electrical issue out at the pole for power to our house which turned out to be more than just a bad breaker. Jim was courteous and fixed us right up even working with the Bluebonnet serviceman directly to tag team the various parts of the job to get it done. Great service, affordable price and excellent work! I would recommend Shirley Electric without hesitation.

I am a Realtor and spoke to Jim about having him inspect the electrical on a home my clients were purchasing and initial inspection turned out so issues. He was fast to respond and agreed to go out quickly. Place was on the outskirts so I was very pleased. I sent copy of inspection and Jim went out as planned. I then heard nothing for most of the day after his visit. He finally called me back and gave me a verbal (limited) detail on his visit. He indicated he would follow up with an invoice and detail by the next day. Nothing came and I have been unable to get a response via text or phone since. 5 days later, I find out from home owner, Jim was there 15 min, said he didn't even know why he was there, and left. I am not sure why he didn't talk to me about any of this and why he didn't just call me back and say everything looked good. I still would have paid him for his time, but since he never responded to me so I could get info and pay him, he wasted his time and created an upset customer. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone else.

We were having problems with some of the circuits in our home. I called Shirley Electric and spoke with Jim. He came the same day at the time he said he'd be here. The problem was diagnosed to be a malfunctioning main circuit breaker, which was replaced in short order at a reasonable price.
