These guys are great. We were unaware, but had a SMUD issue that Jeff pointed out (another electrician failed to do so and could have cost us our brand new TV). He was super helpful....VERY reasonable and I would recommend them to anyone. We will for sure be calling them back to have some audio/ wiring work done in the future. In all honesty....look no further if you need an electrician...these are your guys!

Shields was great today! The electrician came out bright and early at 8 to troubleshoot a couple problems with a sensor light in front and rolling door and light in the back. He was done and things were working by 9:15 although he did mention I should get a professional to look more into the rolling door problem because the electrical was fine. I guess the price was OK because I don't really know what to compare it to. However, it wasn't what I would consider overly priced. I'm just happy things are working finally after going so long without them.

I had a rental property where some of the bedrooms lost power. After spending a few days replacing the GFI switches and breakers the rental still had no power and the tenants and myself were getting frustrated about the power problem and I realized I needed an electrician for this complex problem.

I needed a electrician ASAP so I went to the yellow pages first but then decide to use Yelp. Jeff Shields of Shields Electric had the highest rating with numerous five start reviews under the electrician section so without hesitation I called him. He was able to come out the same day I called and had power returned to my rental in less than 3 hours.

Three things stand out with Shields Electric:

1) Promptness and Quick return of my calls - I needed an electrician right away and Jeff was able to come out the same day, he also called when he said he was going to call
2) Knowledgeable - Jeff explained to me what he was doing while actually doing the work to make sure I understood what was going on, he did the detective work to figure out that a short in the bedroom plug was causing power failure
3) Courteous and Professional - explained to me his prices and the work he was going to do clearly before I committed to any work, good communication and a cool guy overall

I'd recommend him to anyone who has electrical issues.

Installed a new ceiling fan. The fan didn't work and suddenly the AC didn't either! At a loss, and the girlfriend giving me the stink eye for breaking the AC, I called in on a Saturday just hoping someone might be there. Jeff Shields not only answered the phone but was thorough, courteous, and professional. I explained my situation (which he let me do, I've noticed that many professional folks like to tl;dr a bit to much) and asked great questions. Based on his questions I was able to solve my problem. I am definitely recommending Shields to my friends.

All of the reviews here are right on. Jeff with Shields Electric is great. I own The Animal Den Pet Resort and I was in need of some new breakers and plugs/outlets. He came out the DAY I called him for an estimate and they started the next day on the job. I should mention that his staff is top notch. They came during our business hours and as always we are busy busy busy. His staff was considerate by trying to not be in our way and they were totally polite. They cleaned up after themselves...A+ in my book! I will call them back for sure if I ever more electrical work done. Thanks Jeff!

I called Jeff because our renters said one of the breakers was not working correctly. He called our renter to make an appt. and went over that very afternoon and fixed the problem. He is courteous and very professional. He is our new electrician!

All the good reviews here are correct.

Two noncontiguous electrical outlets in my kitchen mysteriously went pfft. I began brooding about the terrible trouble I may be in. I read the Yelp reviews for electricians and called Shields to set up an appointment.
Next morning, Nathan arrives, diagnoses the problem almost immediately, and 20 minutes later he has everything working again-- it's like magic.

I needed help with electricity problems in my kitchen and they came out on an hour's notice and had it resolved in another hour. Great value.

What a refreshing experience! I called Shields Electric to install a chandelier. Shields was able to come out right away and install it perfectly. Nathan and Jeff made sure I was really happy with the positioning, they left my home clean and in order and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Shields!
