Got up the other morning and saw that the GFCI outlet in my kitchen had switched off. It wouldn't reset, either. My first thought was that the outlet had gone bad, so I went to Home Depot and bought another one. Once I pulled the old one out of the wall, I immediately saw that the wires were burned and melted. That's not good, and I wasn't comfortable trying to do more with it at that point. I jumped on Yelp and looked for an electrician. Saw the multiple positive reviews for Shield Electric, so I gave them a call. Amador answered and told me that he could have someone out later that afternoon, within about 2 hours. Efrain arrived a couple of hours later and jumped right into it. He determined that the problem was likely a loose connection. It was fortunate that I had bought a new GFCI, as he had installed his last one on his previous job. He cut out the burned wires, spliced in some new wire, and was done in less than an hour. When he was done, he told me that Amador would call later to handle the billing. That was something different that I've never experienced before, but when Amador called and told me that the bill was just the $75 he had quoted me for the service call, I was happy to pay it.
I can handle some DIY things, but I also know what I don't know and when to call for help. Now I have someone I can call for electrical help when I need it. I'll keep Shield Electric's number at the ready for the next emergency.

What you're looking for in an electrician is someone who is accountable. We had Shield out to do some minor work on our back patio and when we had questions, they answered promptly and even came back to make an adjustment, free of charge. In a world of pretenders, Shield is the real-deal!

Needed a lot of electrical work at home for my family. Shield Electric's Amador did more than just return my message, he came by same day, got an understanding on what I wanted. To save me money, he provided some suggestions to give me what I still wanted. I was in contact with other businesses, but he was the only one that wanted to come by.

I was quoted online from other businesses, Amador's price was hard to say no. He was transparent in what I am paying for. Also took care of me due to being Military. It's not easy shopping around for the great price and still want quality work.

Couple days later, Shield Electric's Efrain was at my door ready to start. He was quiet and busy. Always showed up on time, didn't see him take lunch for each full work day nor take any breaks, he even asked to stay late if needed. When something didn't make sense, he spoke with me as well as his company. His quality of work was very good and I trusted him around my house.

Some last min changes was requested by me and when we came to a situation where I changed my mind, Amador was great about it, Efrain was on it.

Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of work I received. My garage is now bright with extra outlets, living room no longer has the ugly ceiling fan which now has recessed LED lights that are dimmable. My loft has an outlet for hanging a TV with lighting. My Master bedroom now has an outlet for hanging a TV and my weird light switch for the closet is in the closet where it belongs. I am very pleased with all the work I ordered for a really really great price!

Thanks Shield Electric. If I am unable to handle my own handiwork, I will call again. If any of my buddies need some work done, I'll also refer them to you.

I've been dealing with a non-functioning outlet for a couple years. I've had electricians come out, unable to find the cause and tell me that it's a gfi plug somewhere in my home that needs to be reset. We have 2 gfi plugs in my home and they've been reset several times to no avail. Their response has always been there must be a 3rd outlet, you need to find it. I've also had electricians diagnose it as a gfi over the phone, who never even came to the house. Finally, tired of this outlet and needing some other electrical services done, I called Shield Electric. They sent 2 young men out, Vince and Paul, who initially didn't instill much confidence in me, due to their youthful appearance. I mistakenly equated youth with inexperience. They arrived on time. Were very courteous and located the problem within minutes. They completed all of the different projects that I needed in a timely manner for a reasonable cost. I will call Shield again for any electrical issues.

Thank you Shield Electric for doing an amazing job at my house. Shield Electric did many projects for my home. They installed 6 fans, ran my video cable and did some custom work in my living room and bedroom. I am very happy with the work they did. They were all very nice and worked super clean.
