Recommended Customer Reviews

I want to highly recommend shield electric services for a great job. Amador came out to my house in Temecula on short notice and took care of several electrical problems that came up during an Inspection for the sale of my property. He was very professional and did a wonderful job in a short amount of time.

We needed help with lighting for our commercial building. Amador answered the phone promptly when we called and was able to do all repairs in a timely manner. We will definitely call Shield Electric again should the need arise.

I needed an electrician on a Sunday night to change out 4 light fixtures on very short notice. Amador responded in a few minutes to my call and agreed to make himself available.
His pricing was fair and reasonable and he arrived on-time with a positive attitude. The work was completed within an hour and everything cleaned up nicely. I would highly recommend Shield Electric Services and Amador!

I've never written a negative review as ratings can be so subjective, but since we chose Shield Electric for our new home construction based on high YELP ratings in early 2019, I feel it's only fair to future customers that we share our negative experience.
My wife and I hired Shield Electric and Amador Guerrero as our electrician, and later HVAC contractor, on our new construction home in the spring of 2019. Shield started the job strong. We were impressed with Amador's detailed quote, innovative ideas, and add-ons he'd ""throw in for free."" He also expressed his flexibility if we decided to change or add things during walkthroughs that he wanted to schedule with us. The quote was higher than the other two we received, (by about 14% and 20%) but we thought we'd get what we'd pay for. Unfortunately we got nowhere near what we paid for.
The job is still not completed 8 months after Amador's first assured deadline and advanced payments (per his request) to provide the materials and get the job finished. Paying the advances in good faith was obviously a mistake on my part, but I never imagined that Amador's work ethic, attention to detail, and customer service would go downhill so quickly once he was paid that money.
Amador's once prompt communication turned into radio silence. Deadlines were missed and there were no-shows on scheduled work days with no explanation or even a heads up unless I reached out first. I felt like I was pulling teeth anytime I'd call or email to check on the status of a given project, see when I'd be put on his schedule, or question why no one showed up for the entire week leading up to the date he told me he'd complete the job back in December 2019. Work we discussed in our walkthroughs wasn't completed (I wish we got those changes in writing). Work on our home was clearly on his back burner as any new service call took priority over our job (hence no-shows on our scheduled work days). We know this from what a member of his own crew shared with us.
I am a reasonable person, which may be why I kept giving Amador the benefit of the doubt long after others said I should find someone else to finish. I understand that unexpected things come up often with this type of work and in personal lives, but I do not understand any reasoning for dishonesty, false assurances, not communicating when no one would show on scheduled work days, missed deadlines for no other reason than he didn't have the materials to provide his crew, or throwing crew members under the bus when something went wrong. Every other contractor we hired for our new home finished on time or early, anticipating a January 2020 deadline. Amador single handedly delayed our move-in date by almost 5 months. I expect Amador will have a belittling rebuttal or excuse in response to this post, as we've come to expect. I've asked Amador repeatedly to fulfill his end of the contract, or refund me what I paid in advance with money or materials. It's been since April that I've heard from him. Clearly he's still working based on recent Yelp reviews.
Other crews have since worked to fulfill Shield Electric's end of the contract (not only finishing work, but fixing faulty and unsafe work done by Shield) and I am still seeking financial compensation from Amador for what I'm owed. Since he hasn't replied to my emails or texts since April, perhaps he'll respond to this review, or the complaint with the California State Licensing Board that I've filed.

After being in a bind with a rental house, Amador came out the next day and gave me a permanent solution at a reasonable price. He called to let me know status of progress more than once, that's the biggest battle with most contractors. I would reccomend him for all your electrcal needs

We had a problem with our kitchen outlets and called Shield and quickly a service visit was completed by Amador. Later he came to complete the service. He was on time, personable, polite and a great teacher of what went wrong with the outlets. I definitely will use them again and ask for Amador.

Do not fall for Amador's fabricated reply to my prior review. Amador asked for 50% upfront, which is against the state regulations. He then did less than 25% of the work and disappeared in the middle of one key task, (leaving me without lights, that used to work) without any explanation! So he still owes me for 1/2 of the deposit. He used an excuse of his wife's family having a serious emergency as to why he suddenly couldn't show up one day, and said he would get back to me later that same night with more information. I was very worried for him at first, and I patiently waited for him to get back to me. But after days of silence and then days more that he never responded to any of my texts or emails, I started to think maybe he was dead or fled the country. After 30 days of silence, ***and only after I gave him a bad review here***, did he finally speak up and respond to me, but that was only to blame his failure to complete his contracted work, on me and my house! Everything in his reply is fabricated - he has nothing backing up anything he said. But I do. And who could possibly think that quitting an unfinished job (without even telling me that he wasn't able to do the work) with hundreds of dollars he owed me in work (or a refund), with no word for 30 days, was professional behavior? I now know it was a scam, and that explains why he asked me for too much money upfront, and I foolishly trusted him. I have written proof of every single thing I am saying here. [Amador, if you want to start posting pictures, go ahead; I will be happy, in turn, to post our contract terms and all of your texts and let the public judge you by your own words]. Never in my long life have I had such a bad contractor experience like this. And I have already submitted full documentation to the California contractor licensing bureau, the BBB, and next will be the police consumer fraud division. He may have been good once, but he lost his company and crew and now is just a flaky one man show. And his address is a just PO box in Temecula. He has no crew and no office. Do not trust him unless you want to risk getting burned - or at least, make sure you don't give him more that the 10%, or $1,000, whichever is less, upfront, per the regulations!

I called Shield Electric, I own a home in Old Town Temecula, Ca. I had a problem with my outlet no longer working. The Furnace and Air Conditioner unit shut off. Company that installed it said it was not their fault, that my outlet needed a dedicated outlet just for that, ( did not inform me when they installed the new units). Amador said he would be out the next day to check it out. I was very happy with the price he quoted ( He gave me a great deal). We set a date and Amador came out to do the job himself. I was very pleased with the job he did. He also fixed a big hazard that I had with a 220volt outlet I was not aware of ( at no extra charge I might add). I would HIGHLY recommend this Company to anyone needing Electrical Service. I would definitely use them again for futures services.

Well we used them for our house renovation project and they almost got the job completely done. Once I paid for everything (we even paid for items I changed my mind on) then realized they didn't hook up our stove top igniter they became MIA. However
Vince did a great job on this project but the owner isn't that organized. If they didn't have Vince I would of never got this project done due to his low staff.
If you use this company I would recommend a professional documentation in writing with a timeline.
We appreciated their work they did it looks great. However I would appreciate a call back to let me know when they could finish the last piece to the job we paid for.

We had Sheild Electric come out to ""install"" an outlet for our forklift battery. Not only was the job done incorrectly, but it could have completely blown a transformer due to their negligence! We tried to give them a chance by having them come out and fix the problem, they failed to do so. After speaking with the owner Amador and informing him we had to have another company come and fix their problem because he was ignoring our calls, he gave me an attitude when we requested a partial refund. After agreeing to the refund, he has now ignored all phone calls and emails since. The only reason they received 1 star is that they do not have a negative rating as an option, please do not choose this company.
