Our home was experiencing an unusual power loss issue, and Ricky was able to come over during his lunch break as an emergency call. After another electrician was unable to inspect the main panel due to a PG&E seal, Ricky carefully examined the panel and quickly identified the problem. He made several phone calls to his supplier to ensure I could get the faulty circuit breaker replaced as soon as possible. Since our house is newly built, the builder's electrician replaced the part for free, but I truly appreciate Ricky's help in inspecting the issue. Thanks to him, we were able to hold the builder accountable for their responsibility.

One of my house electricity line broke due to excessive hair dryer. I called Sherman Electric, Ricky quickly responded to me and set up an appt. He arrived on time and thru our conversation during his debugging, I realize he's very experienced and knowledgeable about house electrical wiring. He quickly found the location of the burnt wire and fix it in a short time. He also gave me some general advise on electricity specs.

His hourly rate was very reasonable. His communications with me were professional and prompt. I was still at work, so my 18 year old son was the one at home. After he resolved the issue, he left, but came back about 15 minutes later when my son called me to say the problem had recurred. I was able to get home before he left again and Ricky walked me through what the issue was and why it had recurred. Turns out we need to have our tankless water heater serviced. ? I'm sure he spent more than an hour on my issue (which ended up not being an electrical issue after all), and he was able to return the same day on very short notice, but he only charged me for an hour of his time. I'm glad I hired him and would not hesitate to recommend him.

I highly recommend Sherman Electric for outstanding expertise and service. Ricky quickly figured out the source of our electrical problem which was affecting many of our kitchen outlets and appliances (shorted out old aluminum ground wire in our original Zinsco exterior panel which caused fluctuating voltage surges).

Ricky is very experienced and knowledgeable, able to do the work of multiple electricians by himself, and able to quickly troubleshoot problems that would leave other electricians struggling for many hours. Due to his expertise and efficiency he was able to do some major work on my commercial property at a fraction of the cost of other electricians. I would strongly recommend Ricky for any type of electrical work, but especially those that might require technical expertise or with problems that might be difficult to diagnose.

I agree with Barb C. I was impressed with the online reviews for Sherman Electric. I had a somewhat urgent/critical need to have an upstairs (failing) bathroom ceiling fan replaced, but figured that I would also have the downstairs bathroom fan replaced at the same time. Just as with Barb C., Ricky came out in a timely manner, indicated that he would get back to me ""right away"" with an estimate so that the work could begin ASAP. I did not hear back from Ricky with an estimate. I waited about a week and a half, then politely texted him asking when the estimate and work could begin...but heard nothing back. I tried this again about a week and a half later...still, I heard nothing back. Finally, about two weeks after that, I sent Ricky a polite text saying that, ""I guess I won't be hearing back from you. It would have been nice to have heard back, with either yay or nay, about the job."" (He knew that I felt this was an urgently needed repair.) I am at a loss to understand how someone keeps a business going with this kind of lack of consideration toward a potential customer who -- in this case -- was in urgent need of having the work done! The good news: After that, I found a different electrician who gave me an immediate quote, arranged a date for the work, came out on time on that date, and did a great job replacing both of the bathroom ceiling fans. So I guess I can thank Ricky for the fact that I have now found a great electrician...just not Ricky from Sherman Electric!

Just spoke to Ricky, and he has to be one of the most professional, polite, and honest contractors I have had the pleasure of speaking to; in fact, he explained why I didn't actually need the service for which I was calling! I really appreciate his style and honesty. I will certainly call him when I actually do need help!
