I purchased two hours worth of electric services from Kevin/ Shea Electric through Living Social. They came out and performed ONE hour of work. Now after several calls and emails, I can't get him to come back for the second hour. NEVER pay for any service in advance through Shea. You will simply spin your wheels in frustration. I'll be filing a dispute with my credit card company.

Concur with Scott E. and Shannon M.'s reviews...
We ordered a Bosch dual Microwave/Oven combo and asked Kevin for an estimate via his website, he then called me and then texted me his contact information. Sent the product information to the e-mail address provided and some general information about the project. During the phone call he said he'd schedule an appointment for an estimate...HE NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. We instead hired a guy out of Lake Elsinore to do the job, he put one hole in my ceiling to route wiring through my entire, home, top notch work.
Ray from A. Rayman Electric is the guy!!! Highly recommended.
Ray is busy doing solar installs so figured we'd give Mr. Shea one more try...
Contacted Mr. Shea again for two estimates, he was ""johnny on the spot"" calling me and keeping me updated on the appointment time. Upon arrival he told me how difficult it would be to install pendant lights in the kitchen even though the joists run parallel to where the wiring would be and the soffit above the new dimmer was hollow. If that is difficult for a licensed electrician I'm wondering if anything is easy for them. After the appointment he walked the job and shook my hand, looked me in the eye, and said he would have an estimate to me that night.
Come mid-afternoon the next day, still no estimate. Rather than call him and interrupt a possible electrical install I texted and asked if he wanted the job or should I find someone else? ( meaning he didn't send me an estimate like he told me he would. Therefore, we figured he didn't want the job). After him calling me ""dude"" and telling me how hard he worked yesterday and he'd have the estimate to me this weekend I informed him we would find another electrician that ""is true to his word."" An apology would be what a potential customer would expect.
We don't mind work and/or estimates being late, what we detest is someone whom doesn't let you know when they can't deliver what they said.
Seems over his head with the business aspect of contracting and unable to manage his time. With that being said, we recommend not giving him your time because he'll waste it.

I read the reviews, all I can say is, think, people! Kevin's a GREAT Electrician. I've gone through 4 licensed Electricians for house projects over the years and Kevin Shea is THE BEST. Wish I found him years ago. And, his prices are reasonable. Get a grip, people, he's a small Business, he HAS to juggle his schedule to survive. What are important are the quality of his work and the prices he charges. It's not reasonable to expect something for nothing, Kevin Shea is very, very good & his prices are great, period.

Professional, clean, efficient. I've had Kevin and his team do work on my place on 2 occasions and have been very happy with their work. 2 TV's mounted, attic fan switch install, chandelier, outlets for a wine fridge. these guys are great.

Both Kevin and Eric have been out to do work for us. Both guys are professional and pleasant, very knowledgeable. I make it a point to have basic supplies - switches, fixtures for example, already bought to try to save time.
They were able to complete the 2 different jobs needed, no problems. Would definitely call Shea Electric for any future electrical needs, they know what they are doing.

Kevin's a great guy. We had bought a livingsocial deal for recessed light installation. He was on time for our appointment and was able to finish it up with very little cutting of the ceiling drywall. He did a great job working around a restrictive framing inside the drywall.
Overall, very happy with the work he did. Would definitely take his help in any electrical work in the future.

Do not do business with this man. He is completely unreliable. We scheduled 3 different appointments with him, all of which he cancelled for different reasons. My husband took two half days off of work to wait for him; on both days he cancelled at the last minute.

BOTTOM LINE: He dragged out a fairly simple fan installation over a month. We agreed on a price, then the day before he was to do the work he emailed to renege on the agreement. DON'T DO BUSINESS HERE.
DETAILS: I had read online that he had flaked on others, but I wanted to give him a chance. My bad. I bought a deal for two hours work on LivingSocial ($250) from Shea Electric on Nov/12. Called the same day. Owner Kevin Shea asked me to call back. I did. He said he'd call me back. He didn't. Called again, told him what I needed done (each time I told him about the deal I bought). He said to email him the details of what I wanted done. I did. He emailed a time for an estimate. That was fine but I wanted him to call me first. He said to call him in the morning which I couldn't do. Finally got hold of him days later. Employee Erich came for the estimate Nov/18. He was great but had never installed a fan on a patio like mine. I listened while Erich called the owner to get a quote and explained precisely what it was I wanted. The quote seemed too high. I told him I would install the fans myself. Erich said if I did that it would be considerably less. I was happy. I talked to Kevin and he told me someone would come out to do it next week. Never heard back from him. Called him two weeks later (Dec 4). Phone tag. Once he remembered who I was, he apologized about not getting back to me. Still needed to write up an estimate. I told him he already gave me a verbal estimate but I couldn't find the exact amount. Said he'd send the estimate within the hour. Two days later I got it. It was the expensive price with all the work. I let him know that I had spoken with Erich and he said it would be quite a bit less if I put the fans in. Kevin said the estimate he gave didn't include the fans (even though the estimate explicitly says it does). He was emphatic that I would never have been told that. I told him that I felt like he was saying I was lying. Kevin said he was willing to knock it down $100. I was agreeable. He resent the estimate with $110 knocked off. I was happy. It was to be done on Dec 10. On Dec 9 I received an email saying he was not going to do business with me. I was completely baffled.
I now think he realized he wasn't going to make as much money as he wanted because I was using a living social coupon. Whatever...
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN.

Similar experience as Damon N. and Susan I. Very nice on the phone and good at emails. When it comes to the appointment, I wouldn't know. Kevin cancelled my appointment 2 hours prior to the appointment time. He said he would come the next day. I never heard back again.

I purchased an Angie's List deal for recessed lighting for a fantastic rate. Called Kevin for an appointment and he came on time. He allowed me to use the amount I paid for the recessed lighting for other projects I really needed. We set an appointment with a couple weeks in advance so I can get the time off. Less than 24-hours before my appointment, he cancels. What is unfortunate is that I was still forced to use my paid time off (PTO) and did not get the work I needed done. Come to find out his son was injured, which I understand why he did not come. What I did not appreciate is the fact I had to call him for a follow up appointment, which never happened. I reached out to him several times for a new appointment date and he never responded back to me. Instead of using Shea Electric, I returned my Angie's List deal for a full refund. Nice guy, but horrible customer service.
