I recently had a situation at one of our income properties. The tenant informed me that they had 4 outlets that were not working. I have a fair amount of experience with troubleshooting electrical shorts and open circuits but I could not find what was causing the outage. I called one electrical contractor and got no reply at all, then I found Shamrock after doing some searching on Yelp.

Mike returned my call promptly and agreed to meet me at the house that afternoon. He called me 20 minutes before the appointment to confirm and he arrived as scheduled. He went to work quickly and using all sorts of troubleshooting skills found my open neutral which was causing all the problems. He cleaned up after doing the work and gave me a written invoice which was fairly priced. He did not try to upsell me or charge me for any extra work (that didn't need to be done).

I was really impressed with Mike's communication, his work, and his pricing. I will use Shamrock Electric on future projects and I would recommend them to others.

Called Shamrock Electric based on recommendation from a neighbor. He showed up, gave a bid, and finished the job the next day. I needed a 240V outlet added, although the job ended up being a little more complicated because my fuse panel was already full. I love it when a professional knows what to do, shows confidence, tells you what is going to happen, and just does it. Great work, highly professional, competitive costs.

WOW! Don't bother calling! I called two weeks ago and asked to receive bids to install a 3-phase circuit at two different locations for my company. According to them they went out and saw the work that needed to be done. After calling 4 to 5 times to try and get the bid he told me ""I am super busy and don't need to concern myself with smaller projects"" then rudely hung up on me! I have never been treated so poorly by a company. Not only is that the worst customer service but they lied about even going out to the locations.

Wow. Just called to try to set up an appointment to fix an exterior light and replace another and got this response ""I can't help you with that."" Umm , you're an electrician and you can't fix and replace a light? That's pretty bad.

So i used this company before and they were great...i call last week to get an estimate on installing a plug so we can charge our new electrical car and some others small items we needed done and no on called. We called back again and no on called us. We sent a message on their website no one called us. So today i call and got a human on the phone who sounded hung over and told me there to swamped and i should go else where.....WOW...i am loyal customer who would have waited, if an appointment was made but this is how it is ok....never again! Ill find someone new.

We bought a mid century home with a circuit breaker that was known for causing fires. We spent one day with six appointments for local electricians to give us bids for a new 200 amp breaker box and a direct run line to a second circuit breaker. The prices ranged from $1500-$9600. Two companies said they could do the job today and bypass a city permit or contact our electric company and get them to disconnect our live wires and box.

Shamrock Electric was the fourth to show up and only would do the job with permits. Mike Clancy gave us a bid for right under $3000.00. After the sixth appointment showed up I decided to go with Shamrock. Called Mike and he began the permit process.

He always showed up on time. This in itself was worth five stars. The work was done in steps because of the permit process and our local electric company sending out crews to do their thing with the outside wiring and meter.

The work was done clean and Shamrock was able to install the new circuit box without demolition of our siding that we estimated saved us another grand in stucco and wood siding work and painting. This again was worth five stars.

We just had a new A/C unit installed by a local company and discovered our old home did not have grounded plugs in the attic. Again, we called Shamrock and they came to install on time. All is now perfect and Mike even fixed wiring that the A/C company did off code.

So, if you are looking for an electrician that works with permits this company is a perfect choice. Or just go with the really expensive folks that will charge you $9600.00 plus what you will have to pay for stucco and painting work, since they did not offer this service or know of anyone. And eventually have SDG&E stop by and fine you for messing with their meter. I cannot believe others offered this service.

Mike upgraded my electrical panel from a 100amp to 200amp panel. I think it was a fair deal and he took the time to explain certain aspects of the project which I really appreciated. Good job Mike and thank you for the information.

All of the ballasts and bulbs are going out in our office, so I had the Admin Assistant call to make an appointment with Shamrock Electric to solve the problem. The electrician on the phone agreed to stop by between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. 3:30 p.m. comes around, and the electrician is nowhere in sight. So, I had the Admin Assistant call to ask where the electrician was, since he was over an hour late. The electrician told the Admin Assistant that he was too busy, and had taken another job, and informed the Admin Assistant that the other electrician was on another job and told us to find someone else.

Extremely unprofessional, unorganized, and can't even manage to keep appointments! Pathetic excuse for an electrical company.

The reason why I'm giving 1 star, is because you cannot give less than one star, and because the electrician told us to find someone else. So glad we did not let them touch our office!

We used Shamrock Electric for our kitchen remodel. Don't make the mistake we did! Of all the contractors we used for this project, Mike was the only one that was a problem. Sloppy work and very difficult to understand what he was talking about half the time. We were glad when the project was completed. About two weeks after the job was done we pulled out the living room sofa on the other side of the wall where the kitchen electrical was done and we discovered they had drilled right through the wall and INTO THE BACK OF OUR SOFA! It was ruined! Ripped a foot and half long section of the sofa. We wrote to him about it and sent pictures but he never responded.

Mike from Shamrock was very prompt, honest and helpful. He came out to our little office with only24 hours notice, hooked up our electrical whip and even helped put reassemble the modular furniture when he was done! His price was fair and his demeanor was very pleasant. He came to work and got the job done. I will call him the next time an electrician is needed.
