I think it's always worth your while to do as much homework as you can about the condition of your home - there's only so much you can see without breaking open a wall. So if you know that your house is old and the studs are weirdly situated, or there's a ghost that trips the breaker whenever the dryer is on at the same time as the stove, or that the floor is uneven because the previous owners think it's your problem now - tell him. He'll be better at his job because of it. Sal is an awesome handyman and a better guy. Unlike some other contractors, Sal will provide you with an estimate broken down by line item and will let you know what's involved in your project so you're not surprised. As long as things break in our home, we'll be calling Sal.

I called to get an estimate and he couldn't answer me so I texted him. He answered and we agreed on meeting up on a Thursday at 5pm. I found out about a conflict and I let him know about 10am that I wouldn't be off work till 6 and if it was still ok. He said yes it's fine, so I sent my address. 6 pm came around and I went to the location I need the work done and he never showed up, nor called or picked up. I waited 30min. Called and went straight to voice mail. Text him and left him vm. Never did he call back or text me to let me know anything..I was very disappointed in how poorly his communication was. Not sure about his work... never got to see anything...

Guy sent me a text and flaked on me 10 minutes before I was supposed to meet him at Home Depot. I woke up at 7:30 in the morning for a scheduled 8am meet time. Major let down. Does he do good work? I'm not sure. Is he unreliable? I can answer yes to that one. Book him at your own risk but just know you might end up being blown off at the last minute and left by yourself.
