Kevin Comerford and his family have been meeting the heating and air conditioning needs of Northern California homeowners since 1972.
Kevin graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1994.
After graduation, he returned home to join his parents' air conditioning and heating business.
His parents sold the business to a major corporation in Dallas, TX, after 25 years of ownership.
After six years with that company, Kevin opted to step away from the corporate scene and start a family-run, customer-focused business like his parents did in 1972.
Thus, he founded Service Champions in 2002.
With these principles at the forefront, Kevin's business has expanded to over 200 team members and has been operating for 18 years.
Currently, Service Champions provides services to homeowners in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay), South Bay, and Sacramento area.
Kevin resides in Pleasanton, CA, with his wife and three children.

Service Champions is my go to HVAC Company to keep my system running at peak performance. Joe King, my technician, performed a thorough and detailed cleaning service with pictures and ratings for my particular unit. Joe was professional and pleasant. He explained everything he found with my system and made the recommended additional services on the spot. Great Company with great Employees!!!!

I had our HV/AC system serviced by Service Champions in the spring and the tech gave our system a good check and found it to be in great shape. One month later the AC unit was turned on and it failed to work. Service Champions was called and they sent out a tech to analyze the problem. The tech opened the unit and tried to start it and saw a small blinking light and said that our compressor was shot and that we needed at least a new compressor (maybe more) but that we should probably buy a new unit. He never checked anything further even though it was explained to him that Service Champions had been out a month earlier and said the unit was fine. He said that he would have a ""senior tech"" come out the next day to check on his work and confirm that the compressor had indeed failed. The ""senior tech"" did come out the next day and asked where the AC unit was. He stepped out looked at the unit from a distance, came back in and started showing us HV/AC unit replacements, to the tune of $24,000. I called another HV/AC company and had them come out and take a look at the unit. They found it to be low on Freon because the caps were not put on correctly when the unit was first serviced in early spring and the Freon simply leaked out. In short order they added Freon and had the unit up and running in nothing flat. It has continued to run perfectly all summer long.
I am left with the feeling that the main concern with Service Champions is to sell you a new HV/AC system rather then work on servicing systems. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

Michael Jessip was great. He came out this summer and came back for my fall service of my heating unit. He remembered the last visit and was on top of it. Thank you Michael for a job well done!!!

Our Air-conditioning stopped working. Steve Mee the master technician did his Diagnostic testing and found out that we need a fan motor only. He replaced it and we got our A/C going right away. Honesty is the best policy and these guys know what they're doing. I fully recommend them!
Ask about the MVP. It's worth it.

These people were prompt but tried to sell me something i didnt need. I hired them for a maintenance check up and they tried to sell me a whole new ac unit and water heater! I had two other companies come out after their paid service call and those companies found and fixed things with no charge...didnt try to sell me a new unit. These people are scam artists. Do not call them!

I bought a $16k system 3 months ago. I didnt even need it at the time. Aside from the coolant no longer readily available, the system tself worked perfectly. It always ran cold but I wanted to have a tune-up done to ensure there were no issues with my new tenants. I decided to bite the bullet and do it early since I was quoted thousands of dollars in repairs by this company to keep it running in optimally. I should have known I made a mistake when they didn't pass the inspection for the city permit. In fact, I've still yet to receive it. Just last week my tenants expressed concern with the master bedrooms airflow being non existent and the room itself hot. Since the tenant works nights, having a cool room to sleep in during the day is an absolute necessity. I called right away and a tech came out the next day. He took pics of the attic and explained to my tenants that the reason for the issue was due to the one airflow for that side of the house branched to 3 different areas. He explained the same thing to me and said if more airflow was needed perhaps I should consider adding a separate airflow to that room and/or adding radiant barrier insulation to that side of the home as it evidently didn't have it. Now WHY would I need to add these things when my previous system worked to cool that room just fine?? I asked for our original salesman to call me, as I had questions as to WHY we would replace our system with something inferior to what we had or why these tweaks werent made from day 1 to ensure optimal performance of the system. It has been 3 business days since that request and I have had ZERO calls from them. I am so extremely disappointed especially since the ""adjustments "" Travis made had zero impact with regard to this issue. Seems this company went from 5 stars when I reached out to them, to now 4. Im really starting to dread my decision in choosing this company. Id consider looking elsewhere for your air service needs. Unfortunately, it seems like once they have your money they just want more and more.

First of all, they have really nice people working for them. They are always super helpful and personable, and I guess they have to be for the absolute highway robbery they try to charge. When the control board on my AC broke, their service tech told me that while I could replace the part, it was just throwing good money after bad, and I should replace the whole HVAC system. He ran the numbers, and with the ""discount"" and everything it came out to $22,000!!! I was shocked, but he had so many reasons why this was the price, and luckily he could get me in for financing, and I better do it soon because they were booked way out. I immediately got on the phone and called around. I had another company come out the next day who said it would be $11,000. Another came out who said he could do it for $10,500. Eventually, I had a guy come out who called the manufacturer on my system, realize that it was in perfect condition minus the control board, and only eight years old, and it could be fixed with a $500 part replacement and $100 labor charge.
$22,000 is just predatory. Run, don't walk from this company, and cancel your MVP service. Unless you really know your stuff around air conditioner and furnace repair, they will prey on your ignorance and take advantage of you.

Left work early to meet with a sales representative and they never showed up. When I called they guy tells me I never confirmed my appointment and then he went back through and said it actually looks like they never called you to confirm. Contractors at times can be a bit flaky and this was something that I wasn't expecting from them. They did offer to reschedule but when I gave him my available he countered with times I was at work so I told him to have a good night.

I am truly impressed with Clifford, the technician who came for my annual MPV service of my HVAC system. He arrived at the estimated time quoted, and spent 45 minutes-an hour thoroughly checking and lubricating all components as well as spraying around the unit for insects. Clifford was so accommodating and kind. Thanks for the quality service.

The service is great, however, be careful on signing up for the MVP service. Both the technician and the customer service rep assured me that even though the MVP is a yearly service, it is not automatically renewed, In other words, it's not automatically charged or deducted from my bank year after year.
WRONG!!! I noticed the other day that a charge for over $170 was deducted from my bank account. I called Service Champion, inquired the charge, told her that I wanted to cancel the MVP status, and even though she was very nice, I still have not received credit or the email confirming my cancellation.
They are quick to take your money, but not so much, when it comes to refunds. Not happy!!!
