Since 1972, Kevin Comerford and his family have been addressing the heating and air conditioning requirements of homeowners in Northern California. Kevin graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1994. Upon finishing his degree, he came back to work in the family-owned heating and air conditioning company. After 25 years, his parents transitioned the business to a major corporation based in Dallas, TX. After working for that company for six years, Kevin opted to leave the corporate sector and start a family-run, customer-focused business like his parents did in 1972. Thus, he founded Service Champions in 2002. With these core values, Kevin's business has flourished, now employing over 200 team members and operating for 18 years. Currently, Service Champions provides services to homeowners in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay), South Bay, and Sacramento.
Kevin makes his home in Pleasanton, CA, alongside his wife and three children.

John F.A few days ago my 24 yo single family house furnace decided it was done heating my home and the blower motor seized. Service Champions were one of the only HVAC companies who are open on the weekends. The others were either closed or 24 service call centers. Service Champion's technician came out on Saturday and explained all my options. We could have fixed the blower but most likely another part will fail soon because of the age of our Bryant furnace. No pressure but just experienced given by the technician to probably think of purchasing a new furnace. We decided to purchase a new furnace. Note: The technician now must call and schedule a ""Comfort Specialist"" aka Sales Representative to come out. Also, if you purchase a system from them, the service call charge will be credited to your bill. This is typically used by companies to help seal the sales deals. Otherwise, you just pay the for the service call on move on.
Anthony came out the next day to present all the heating options. It seems Service Champions only work with Lennox HVAC systems. No other brands were offered. If this is a turn off you might want to look for another company to work with. Anthony was friendly and informative. One negative is the contract you sign. Most are straight forward but Service Champions are a bit different to a certain degree. Instead of the model numbers of the equipments to be installed, they have a weird system. For example the furnaces are labeled Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Presidential !? Anthony presented a laminate card explaining each with then the model in correlation. I suggest you use your camera phone and take pictures of all the equipment so you know what you are agreeing to. I chose ""Gold"" which means at this time a Lennox SL280DFV . This also includes a new S40 Lennox smart thermostat. I also added a 2"" hospital grade filtering system.
It took a few days more to schedule installation but this was expected to some degree. You should plan on installation taking the whole day, that way you wouldn't be upset if it goes beyond the morning. My installation took approximately 6 hours. The technicians were wonderful and I was very impressed on how everything looked and quality of work. I researched Lennox and found they are one of the best HVAC companies out there plus Service Champions have a 15 year parts/labor warranty to back it up. I always get other bids too and there were cheaper alternatives but when you compare everything with their warranty, Service Champion was my choice.
We received excellent service from Andrew Shepherd several days ago. He measured our new air conditioner for a cover when not in use. We already received it today! He also answered several questions that we had regarding our furnace/AC system which we did not think to ask about when the units were installed. He was friendly, helpful, and informative. A good employee and a fine company!
i called them on Friday to fix my thermostat. they came on Sunday and after 1.5 hours assessment of my heater, he had to fix my thermostat but he didn't have it. he wanted to charge me $463. he said they need to order and come back later next week. on Monday, when I complained, they asked me to wait 48 hours to escalate issue to management. i decided to call someone else to fix my thermostat. other company showed up next day, fixed it in 30 min, and charged me only $200. more than 50% cheaper. i do not recommend them.
Absurdly high quotes for heat pump HVAC system. Over double the price of my other 2 quotes for same system. Total quote of $60k for 2 units. Around $40k of quote was for labor but they said they could complete the job in 1 day !!! Nice folks but they're obviously looking for folks that are bad at math or ludicrously rich.
Terrible service and no follow up. Do not do business with this company. I paid for an electrical box to be replaced and they did not finish the job. They will not return calls, and the job is not up to California code. They charged my credit and did not provide me with a receipt. Terrible company.

Yovanni did a thorough and professional job! Add to that, he's courteous and friendly. He took the time to listen to me which I appreciate. You'll be fortunate to get Yovanni as your technician. I am happy that I saw Service Champions' ad on TV. I almost didn't call because the last company I called after seeing their ad did the old bait and switch.
Service Champions inspected my heater and the ducts and changed the heater's filter for the exact price as advertised. Thomas D. was the technician that did the work. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything as he inspected and gave me a detailed written report. Thomas really seemed to love his job and his enthusiasm was uplifting. I plan on using this company to install insulation and perform electrical work in my home because of the excellent service and fair price.
Zoe M.I've been meaning to write this review for a while. There was a cold snap in February 2022, and of course that was the week my furnace decided to quit. Service Champions came in clutch! They were able to come out, give me a quote, and complete the removal and replacement of my new gas furnace within days. They had to do some extra wall work to get the furnace in/out, but they came back and fixed everything.
They offered easy zero interest financing. The team is great about reaching out and following up with servicing. And, everyone I've talked with has been super pleasant and helpful.
Don't be fooled by their advertisements for low price. They get you to accept their special and up sale you BIG time. $88 turns into $500.
