Since 1972, Kevin Comerford and his family have been addressing the heating and air conditioning requirements of homeowners in Northern California.
Kevin completed his studies at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1994.
After graduation, he returned home to join his parents' air conditioning and heating business.
His parents sold the business to a $5 billion corporation in Dallas, TX, after 25 years of ownership.
After six years with that corporation, Kevin chose to exit the corporate world and create a family-oriented, client-focused business similar to his parents' in 1972.
This led him to establish Service Champions in 2002.
Guided by these values, Kevin's company has grown to include over 200 team members and has been in operation for 18 years.
Currently, Service Champions provides services to homeowners in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay), South Bay, and Sacramento.
Kevin resides in Pleasanton, CA, with his wife and three children.

Scheduled an appointment to see how much it would cost to install a new air conditioning system. Tech came on time and was very nice. Took measurements of each room and looked in our attic. Drew up a plan of what his company was going to do. In the end, he told us how much it would cost. His demeanor changed as he became as aggressive as a car salesman. We told him we would talk it over since we're on a budget and get back to him in a couple of days. He didn't let us keep the paper with the cost since the price would change because it was going to get busier later in the year. Very unprofessional. You can't expect my wife and I to make a decision on the spot with that amount of money they're charging us. We needed to talk in private. He gave us 10 mins to talk it over while he called someone else. He came back and gave us a cheaper rate. Why didn't you tell us that price in the first place? Disappointing experience.

This is a long overdue review. From Dec or Jan I think? Just found the business card laying in my desk.
Kao was very professional and seemed very knowlegable and well trained. Was careful not to make a mess and seemed to do a thorough job. Seemed to give me honest, articulate answers as well. I think he said he had studied at City College of SJ, which I've heard has a great reputation for many areas.
I was very happy with price, service, promptness, everything and would use again.

I am so irritated at this company! They were here and checked my AC and were supposed to give me one pound of freon which they never did. I signed up for a service plan with them which was my mistake. A month ago I contacted them to come out and service the heating system since this is part of their service plan that I signed up for. They were unable to set up an appointment that month so I made an appointment with them three days ago. The service guy was supposed to be here between 11 am and 1 pm. Nobody showed up. I called them and asked why nobody showed up and they told me that they were unable to confirm the appointment. I had asked them to not call me since I have almost no reception where I live and have to rely on email. They said that they had called me anyway and was not able to confirm the appointment and therefore did not send out anyone. They said that they left a voice mail. I never received a voicemail. I made another appointment for today between 11 am and 1 pm. Again, nobody showed up. I contacted them again and asked where the technician was. I was told that he will be here between 1:15 and 1:45 pm. He showed up at 2:15 pm. The one pound of free freon that I was promised when I first made an appointment is apparently a scam. I am so fed up with this company! I am going to warn people about doing business with this company.

I am pleased to say that we are at 5 stars and sooner than I thought we would be at this time. Hard work, great follow up and personal attention by Kevin himself have made my wife and I very happy that we decided to go with Service Champions. We now have our house and our condo on their Gold Plan which means we don't have to worry about anything for a very long time. Nothing worse than having to wait when your Heating or AC system has a problem. Both properties are up to par and we can relax knowing SC has our back. Nice to see companies like Service Champions live up to their promises and more! They take a good old fashioned ""Whatever it takes to make the customer happy"" approach which is so rare but definitely appreciated.

I highly recommend this company to service / maintain your home HVAC. I signed up in Nov 2013 and had my initial inspection. I was pleased with the service and signed up for the membership plan where I'm billed monthly/quarterly (can't remember which) but the price was reasonable. I just had my second service and was EXTREMELY pleased with Stephen D. He showed up on time, was friendly, personable and was able to understand and resolve an ongoing issue that the previous tech was unable to solve (replacing the filter wasn't the solution). Stephen is a valuable asset to the team!

I don't know whether or not negative reviews ever get posted, but here goes.My first experience with Service Champions a few years ago was outstanding - the purchase and installation of a new furnace. Based on this experience, i recommended Service Champions to a friend and helped purchase a new air conditioning system. She was also sold a new furnace in my absence, which I felt was not necessary. The representative did not provide an itemized contract showing the application of various discounts,for instance. Some details changed from the contract signing to the installation. At first, the installation of the new Rheem equipment seemed to go well. Then the followup inspections revealed serious problems which are continuing to this day. Today , virtually the entire day, the system is being dismantled and being worked on - a new system!! Minor issues like a $50, gift certificate as promised by the representative, were never provided weeks later (installation about 7 August).All in all, this has been a terrible experience and I would like to be contacted by Kevin Comerford to discuss what is going on ""in the field."" The Boss ought to know!!

Good Communication...from the 800 number to the service pro, they called when they said they would call. On Time...they showed up when they said they would. Professional...Dominick knows what he's talking about and took the time to show me the leak with the special Xray glasses. Our air conditioning/heater is one year's old. Our maintenance tech noticed the lack of cool air and suspected a leak. He was very clear about the process. 3 days later, service pro Dominick came out and injected the system with dye to confirm the leak, a few days later, he came back and confimed that the dye indicated one leak. It took him 6 hours to fix, like the maintenance tech said. And Dominick explained why. Very pleased with Service Champions service and would highly recommend them.

Had new A/C unit installed 5/28/14, hasn't worked properly ONE DAY since. Their techs have been out 1-2 times a week for past 2 months often at inconvenience to myself and my family. Their techs are friendly, but have taken forever to find the underlying problem. I am unhappy and dissatisfied, especially after sitting in a sweltering house for so long. Wrote a letter to the owner asking him to step in on my behalf without a response. Finally spoke to a manager today who may or may not step up. I may soon need to contact Michael Finney for his help with this one...

Really mad at these guys right now. Had one of their senior techs Phil come out to verify that my furnace was in need of replacement (apparently one of their operating procedures since you need two techs to verify; the last one could not do so independently).

Long story short, they drew up a big estimate to replace the full HVAC including duct work to the tune of $11K. I told him to put everything on paper and email it to me and I will review with the wife that night. Note: There was something initially about him that appeared to be disorganized (I'll leave the details out for now, more to follow).

That night our AC would not operate and the house was baking (we are in South San Jose). After I did numerous troubleshooting and vafter some extended frustration, we discovered that the tech failed to replace the furnance doors after the inspection, thus disabling our whole HVAC system! I put the doors back on to allow the switch to kick in and the system got back up.

Wrote an email to Phil and his manager conveying my thoughts regarding this, and that he failed to clean up after himself since he was more concerned about securing the contract with the hard-sell tactics then checking his work area. All I got back was a short ""Sorry about that."" response. That's it. Never heard from his manager.

Well, my $11K of business is going somewhere else. Their credibility is shot.
