Kevin Comerford and his family have been meeting the heating and air conditioning needs of Northern California homeowners since 1972.
In 1994, Kevin earned his degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
Upon finishing his degree, he returned to assist in his parents' heating and air conditioning business.
After running the business for 25 years, his parents sold it to a major corporation based in Dallas, TX.
After six years with that corporation, Kevin chose to exit the corporate world and create a family-oriented, client-focused business similar to his parents' in 1972.
This led him to establish Service Champions in 2002.
With these principles at the forefront, Kevin's business has expanded to over 200 team members and has been operating for 18 years.
Currently, Service Champions provides services to homeowners in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay), South Bay, and Sacramento.
Kevin resides in Pleasanton, CA, with his wife and three children.

The furnace heating cycle has been checked out thoroughly by Richard telling the customer about the current condition of certain components and their expected life span. The system has been operating to our satisfaction. He also mentioned I call in to schedule the cooling cycle inspection before May. We really appreciated what Richard did on the system and his advice.

I have worked with Service Champions for many years with great results. In 2022 I had their team provide an airflow assessment to provide better cooling in one of my rooms. A detailed plan was developed and implemented which included: minor ductwork changes; flow dampers; and fine tuning. The team and follow up was great and I now have good airflow to all areas of my home.

This week I worked with Service Champions for a complete replacement of my furnace and AC units. Our comfort advisor, Angelia, did a complete assessment and recommended a furnace and AC solution that worked within our home requirements and budget. She was very helpful in explaining the options with pros and cons with no pressure. She was pleasant and professional through the whole process from drawing up the contract to assuring a successful install.

The install was a great success! The install team of Edgar, Andres, and Jonathan were excellent. There were a few challenges, but the team worked through them to assure everything was operating perfectly and everything was up to code.

The complete team of Angelia, Edgar, Andres, and Jonathan are great assets to the Service Champions team.

Juan provided excellent diagnosis during the tuneup appointment. He was very thorough and was able to systematically diagnose a problem which I have been dealing with. I liked the way he approached the problem, and he was nice enough to explain everything he was doing. He did not rush through and he was very much interested in keeping me, the customer, happy. He came with Vinny who was also very nice to talk to. The workplace was cleaned up perfectly before they left. Great job!!!

My experience with Service Champions has been nothing short of a nightmare. I initially contacted them due to an issue with my HVAC unit, and things went downhill rapidly.
Positive aspects first: I was impressed with their quick response to my inquiry and the prompt arrival of the technician for an inspection. However, the initial positive impressions soon faded away.
The technician identified a failing motor and a mold issue, pressuring me into a complete unit replacement. The sales representative, Angelia, promised a smooth process, offering a discount if I took the next available slot. Little did I know that this decision would lead to a series of problems.
On the scheduled day, they failed to show up within the agreed time frame. Communication with their customer service was frustrating, and the lack of coordination was apparent. The installation crew was ill-prepared, instead of finishing the job they disconnected my ducts and left after two hours, leaving me without heat for 4 days. They were supposed to finish the job on the 22nd of December and instead they have only just completed work today on January 2nd. It took them 12 hours on the 23rd to install the unit which could not produce heat and only blew more cold air constantly into the house.
Multiple promises from the manager, Donny, fell through, and the lack of accountability was glaring. The installation process extended for days, leaving my family without heat during the holidays. My kids fell ill due to the delay, and the cleanup after their work was left to us.
Despite numerous tech visits and hours spent, the issues persisted. Only after multiple attempts did they manage to resolve the problem. The damage to my property, the lack of professionalism, and the constant miscommunication were extremely disappointing.
The company's claim of ""Worry-free or it's free"" is far from the truth. I have a screenshot of the message from the manager claiming that this is only on their trucks and not in the contract. Senior management displayed a lack of ownership, leadership, and customer service skills. The entire experience was a nightmare, and I would strongly advise others to steer clear of this company.

Edit:

The response that my job was set for the 23rd is a lie, they were meant to come on the 22nd and did not show up. Installing an air dampener on a new unit when the unit you replaced had it just shows how unorganised and Ill prepared this company is.

2020 service champions installed a furnace with coil for 10,100.00. Located in garage , easy access.
I wish I would have known as it hasn't worked properly. Hopefully the tech fixed it today. You can get a new one now 2023 for 7,800.00 installed. Quoted from A-1 Heating and Air. Same model quoted or like kind.. service champions is a rip off.

I thought Service Champions was good. They installed a new heating system for me and a new AC system. I recently called them out for Rat infestation under my House. They told me I need a whole new Vent system because the vents should be replaced. Note ...they put new Vent System in three years ago with my new AC. Estimate of $8000,65.00. I called another company for a second estimate. They said there were some Rat droppings and they had been there about three weeks. They Repaired the damaged vent, cleaned and sanitized the vents, found small holes and plugged them up and set traps....Cost $3000.00

I am a Senior Citizen and feel I was taken advantage of and I have been an ongoing Customer. They did not take care of my needs and I will never use them again nor will I will refer them to anyone
Now I wonder if i need new vents installed three years ago

Carlos arrived promptly at the scheduled time and worked efficiently to check all the vents, the entire furnace, replace our filter and check the water heater. Service Champions certainly lived up to their name. We've had them to come tune up our furnace/AC unit over the years. We had the full works done on a 40 year old house with the original furnace (that was somehow functioning by an unknown miracle) that was very close to going, an outdated AC, leaking ducts, and a water heater that we knew needed to be replaced at some point. We also had an attic that was not insulated at all, so you really felt it during the cold/hot peaks.

Ben was our sales rep and walked us through the process and options. Didn't try to hoodwink us on anything - and laid out that we probably didn't need to replace the ducts since they were all intact. But the house was in badly need of some work, and it was not going to be cheap regardless. I would say the only thing I didn't like was having to make a decision on the spot given the amount of money involved. Despite the fact you receive the final number upfront, it still adds a bit of stress and raises doubt in your mind. I'm happy that wasn't the case.

They are not cheap - let's be clear about that, but I stand by decision to go with them. It was white glove service from beginning to end. Furnace, water heater, and initial attic cleaning were all done in one day, attic was sealed/sanitized/and prepped for the insulation, and the AC unit was moved and installed. Within the span of less than a week the work was complete - really less because we had the weekend in between. The entire crew that came to our house was extremely friendly, efficient, professional, and any miscommunications were easily remedied. The team did their best to work around any inconvenience. Did I mention white glove service?

The process for arranging inspection by the state and city were easy. Both cleared the permits without any issue.

I showed my handyman the work a few weeks later, when he came to do some repairs on the exterior. He was very impressed with the workmanship and I trust him enough to have an 3rd party view in my best interest.
