We had purchased an Angie's List deal with recessed lighting for Gil's Electric. Well, they left a mess and it was VERY sloppy work. I looked on Yelp and saw they had very low ratings. My trust in Angie's List has gone down considerably. I should just trust Yelp.

We had an electrical outlet catch a small fire without tripping the breaker. We found out that the Zinsco electric panel, which was installed in the 1960s is known for malfunctioning. I didn't want Gil's Electric back here because of their sloppy work.

I saw SDS Electric and thought I would give them a try. Josh is great! He called me and came out to West LA to give us a written estimate for a bunch of work we wanted to do. It was line item so we can break down the projects for new lights in the kitchen and bathroom.

He gave us an estimate for a new electrical panel and confirmed the Zinsco were bad and well known to have issues. We got this for about $800 less than other electricians, including Gil's were quoting. He even dealt with the permit. They installed it and did a great job. Including cleaning everything up! They were very considerate about everything. The electrician was amazing!

We just had the inspection just now as I am typing this and passed. Josh came back to meet the electrician to make sure everything was fine.

I can't say enough great things about this company and the professionalism and expertise of each one of them. The building has 30 units and we want to change all of the panels for every unit so we are all safe. We believe we will be hiring SDS Electric for all of them.

I used SDS Electric for the first time on Tuesday based on Yelp reviews. Not only did they show up within an hour of my calling, they were in and out within 30 minutes and fixed the problem with a breaker on the electrical panel. Josh was very professional and I appreciated his explaining everything he did. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

These guys are great! I needed a couple of extra outlets around my home and these guys gave me a very reasonable quote. I had them come out last week and it only took'em about 5 hours to get the job done! I'm very pleased with the work done and I will definitely recommend them to anyone!

With football season starting and the best games of baseball still to be played, my husband and I decided to mount a TV outside under our patio. This required a socket to be installed so we can plug in the TV.

I called SDS based on reviews here and was not at all disappointed. You can call them at almost any hour. I called the night before my appointment to confirm -- it was about 9:30pm (I forgot to do it sooner) and someone answered!

I read some of the reviews that commented on them being late and/or not showing, so I called a few times to keep confirming we were on track for having the installation as planned. The window was 8:30 am - 9:30 am and they arrived about 9:15am. I think some of the issues with lateness may be that they have a large service area.

I was impressed that they didn't just connect this new outlet to existing wiring -- they built a stand alone (I""m sure I'm using the wrong words here) outlet so that it has its own power source. I guess that if it wasn't done this way, I may get flickering lights, etc. when the outdoor TV was in use and the lights inside are on.

The guys that came were very friendly and definitely knew what they were doing. I don't really know the cost of such things -- but electrical work seems like a highly technical skill that many people don't know how to handle (or would rather not take the risk). I felt like the price was fair. I didn't do any comparison however.

I will absolutely call them again.

Excellent, friendly, fast, professional service. SDS Electric (Josh) showed up first thing this morning to help us replace a blown breaker in our apartment. Josh was great to deal with. Reasonable pricing given the nature of our issue, the age of the breaker, and the fact that it was early on a weekend morning (6:45 am). I would use SDS again for future electrical needs.

This was my first time using this service and it will not be my last. I was able to get a quick appointment. Josh was very polite and came within the scheduled time frame. He was upfront about what I needed to do and what the cost would be. I would recommend this company to anywho.

Just had SDS Electric over to my apartment. What great service. The technician was super nice, totally professional, and very, very quick. He diagnosed the problem, replaced three old breakers, and replaced a shorted-out light switch -- all within a half hour. We'll definitely use this company again the next time we have any electrical issues. Great job.

We found SDS on yelp along with two other electricians. SDS (Josh) came out and gave us a written estimate. He was professional and gave the estimate on the spot without hesitation, which I liked and I liked him. After getting another estimate that was somewhat comparable, we decided to use SDS. I asked Josh when the soonest he could come out and he said he would come out Monday between 8:30 and 9:30am. So we blocked out our schedules for Monday and 10am comes around and no one has arrived. So I called him to ask and he said he forgot that it was a holiday and that they can come some other day. Obviously that wasn't the answer I was looking for.

So I called some other electricians and it turned out to be a good thing that he didn't show up because I got two other quotes that were less than half the price that Josh had quoted me for the exact same job for a savings of $450.

Of course this is not a review of SDS's competence as electricians because we never got that far, but I feel at least a courtesy call to tell me they weren't going to come out would have been appropriate.

SDS Electric is hands down the BEST! Very professional and they know what they are doing.

Vik, arrived this morning and got to work and started to deal with my old Zinsco Sylvania electrical panel. I need to have Vic on speed dial. Ha! =) I am a very happy camper. I will be recommending SDS Electric to everyone that I know.
