Scott is a really good electrician. He does excellent work, fast, and he is a great guy. We had several other electricians highly ranked on Yelp quote on a large project at our home. Scott charged the same hourly rate as the others, but what made him a lot more economical was that he started with ""what do you want?"" Once he understood the ultimate objective, he presented us with a variety of possibilities and tradeoffs, until he found a solution that worked really well for us. Scott is a very clever guy and it shows, for example, in his troubleshooting methodology. Same hourly rate as the other guys, but he costs a lot less because he gets to the root cause of a problem much quicker. Whether or not you wind up going with Scott, you should at least have him quote your project. Hear his suggestions. You'll be happy you did.

Scott is a great guy to work with. He is reliable and always comes through for me in a pinch. From whole house re-wiring to troubleshooting smaller jobs and installing track lighting, he knows what he's doing and it really shows.

I hired him recently to fix a problem we were having with a circuit that kept popping. I called him up, and he was repairing it a couple days later. Great communication, good prices, and a quick repair!

We recently hired Scott to add bunch of recessed lights, replace exhaust fans and add a high ceiling fan (16 ft high). Knowledgeable and professional.. We are satisfied with his service. He showed up on time and finished the job in time.

His quote was reasonable , not too high or low, just perfect. I will surly hire him again if I have any electrical project.

I am following up on a review I wrote earlier. I was very mistaken when I wrote that there was no license for ""Scotts Electrical Service"". Scott sent me an email with a link to the license board and he does have a valid state license. We looked and looked when we were checking for a good electrician on the website and could not find his license. However his license is active, and I was mistaken. Please note that Scott sent me a very nice email, very nice and patient. Thank you very much. Please note that he does not have workers comp insurance and the license board verified this to me and said that as long as he does not have employees he can legally contract in CA. Once again I would like to thank Scott for his kind email. As a whole my wife and I are very overwhelmed by this remodeling process that we are going through and are very confused. Comp or no Comp, business licenses, active state licenses, electricians certificates, WOW! It's hard to pick good contractors and get accurate info.
Maybe we'll just sell the house and buy another one instead.

When we bought our new home, our real estate agent recommended Scott McManus and his team of licensed and bonded professionals. Scott and his team came in and had completely reinforced our 30 year old electrical system. They cleaned up our circuit breaker box, removed florescent lighting and replaced it with recessed (and even offered to move the florescent into the garage which has been a godsend!), pulled new wires to install exterior lighting, moved switches and outlets, and repaired a lot of weird electrical shortcuts the previous owners had left us with.

Scott's always been on time, easy to reach and he lets you know what he's doing and why it needs to be done. His prices are VERY reasonable and he keeps working until the job is done.

He lives in the Sacramento area so he works there but he also travels regularly to San Jose and around the whole Bay Area. Give Scott a call, you won't be disappointed!
