On 9/2/22, I contacted Schmitt, Inc. regarding my issues with my A/C unit in the main floor and I explained to the dispatcher ""Audrey"" that I have a Taylor Morrison house, and that Schmitt Inc installed the A/C unit, Lennox, and that I have 10 years warranty on the unit. I explained to her that I really have a problem with the unit and I keep clearing the pipe, but it the unit keep stop working and I explained to her that since the unit is still under warranty, someone should come and inspect the unit itself, the problem is not coming from the pipe. I also explained to her that I clear the pipe and I pour a glass of vinegar in it on a monthly basis as I was told. She said ""you are doing what you suppose to do and you need someone to look at the unit itself. I told her ""this is under the warranty"" and she confirmed that it is under warranty and scheduled a technician for 9/6/22.
The technician ""O Rodriguez"" showed up on time and I explained to him what is going on. He kept telling me ""your problem is the pipe getting clogged and that unclogging the pipe is not under warranty, I kept telling him over and over that I do understand that and I do unclog the pipe myself and the water comes out very clear, nothing is clogging the pipe. He said ""do you want to buy a new unit?"" I really did not like his question, why is he telling me the problem is the pipe then asking me if I want to buy a new unit that does not make any sense. He did not touch the unit; he did not even try to remove the front panel to see if there is anything blocking the water inside pan within the unit itself. I really felt insulted that he kept arguing with me and did not inspect the unit itself, and I told him to go, he left.
In the morning of 9/7/22, I received an invoice for $109.00 which was a complete surprise to me. The dispatcher ""Audrey"" confirmed to me that the unit is under warranty, she did not tell me that there is a service call and the technician himself did not inform me that there is service call. I called Schmitt inc on 9/7/22, 9/8/22, 9/9/22, 9/12/22 (called twice), 9/13/22 ( called twice), 9/15/22 to talk to one of the managers to explain that I do not owe this $109.00 because that the dispatcher confirmed that the unit is under warranty or if they want to send another technician to check the unit itself and I will pay the $109.00, I never received a call back from anyone. Today 9/15/22, I called another A/C company to come and check the unit.

My daughters AC went out she called Schmitt on my recommendation, her system is a 2017 unit installed and serviced by Schmitt, she was told that she needed a whole new unit 7000 dollars this is a single mother of three dying of brain cancer and this company decided to try and rip her off, she sat in a hot house at 95 degree temperatures, she saved cut corners asked me, all to fix her house for her and her kids, Schmitt told her when she's pays they will order the unit, I spent 1500 on ac wall units to help as best they could but things we're terrible for her all because of a CON a flat out rip off a woman, rip off a sick person who is bed ridden with no use of her legs, We had another company come out after she couldn't take it anymore, they fixed the problem in less then an hour for 175.00, I am discussed by what I thought was a family true local company, and this is how you treated her, now here I am with no trust of you, my child who suffered for weeks with heat and humidity never once did she ask anything of you but to be honest like I told her you were. Unreal you let her down with shit that I thought was over, CON artist bullshit, well I hope you have a good laugh at my child expense, you will never have my business recommendation or my business again, every chance I get I will relay this story, I would have told you that my daughter won't use you either, but she died 9-2-22, I don't want you to feel bad, at least the wall units helped. You discuss me as I said.

I've been a customer for about 12 years, my husband and I retired from Army and moved to Florida, Schmidt was contracted to install two units in our new home. Over the last 12 years we've had several repairs. My concern is that several years ago when we're under warranty the tech did a patch job, he noted a leak in the coils, he choose to fill with coolant instead of addressing the leak...we were under warranty and would've gladly paid for labor because the part would have been free...now we're here today basically being told it would be cheaper to get a new unit, because we're no longer under warranty. I've called the company more 5 times in the last 2 weeks asking them to address the problem and I have not gotten a response. I feel very strongly about this issue and honestly I would like to resolve at the lowest level. If I do not here anything by weeks end, I have no choice but to elevate my concern.

I've been trying to get a supervisor to call me back for three weeks! Started when my maintenance company spotted corrosion on the coil in my AC unit. The unit is under warranty and c
Schmitt installed it. A Schmitt tech came out and said there wasn't a problem and tried to tell my husband that he was t changing our filters (which we do religiously)- he then said there was no problem and left (without switching the system back on). My maintenance company sent out the owner who showed us the corrosion. After several calls Back to Schmitt I finally got through to someone in the office, Audrey. First she protested by saying her tech was their senior tech. Then she shot back, Well did you register the unit (yes!), then she said the maintenance company could replace the part. She was extremely defensive rather than listening. Eventually she took my info, I emailed her, she wrote back, then after no one ever got back to me, I called again. Audrey answered and asked ""Well who did you talk to?"", when I said Audrey she said she never got my email. I told her she did because she wrote back to me. It is exhausting dealing with this company! Still waiting for the boss to call me back.

Terrible customer service. They installed ourAC units in our new built home. Two years later we have a major mold issue from faulty installation and cannot get a supervisor to even return a call. Other homes in our neighborhood have the same issue and Schmitt won't take any responsibility. My next step is contacting the news, BBB and an attorney. Stay far away from this family owned business of 50 years.

i am writing this review only because after asking for the owners' contact information, I was denied. Hopefully leadership will read this and be made aware of the type of people representing them.
All I wanted was to have my A/C unit, which they installed, serviced. I called and spoke with someone each Monday, for 3 separate weeks, and was promised each time that someone would contact me. Clearly, it never happened. Finally, on call number 4, I asked why no one had contacted me and was told they needed to talk to the owner. Whaat? I am the owner, and if that was an issue, why didn't someone contact me after call number 1, 2 or 3 about this? Apparently this question was difficult to answer and the person i was speaking with became combative, actually telling me to ""listen to her.""
So, yes, after weeks of waiting for a call and to PAY these people for something, I became frustrated and asked for the owner's name, which again, was refused. I was told that my complaint would be conveyed to the owner. My confidence with that was about as good as my confidence that someone would call me to set a service appointment.
To me, whatever the issue is with receiving and relaying service requests is such a poor representation of the company (What is that saying about first impressions?) and has caused me to me wonder about the overall integrity of this company. But, maybe they are just so successful that they don't need my business and don't care what impression their people give. No matter.....I found a company who would honor the warranty and was happy to book my request... on the first call! How about that!?
All said, good luck to Schmitt.....I fear they are going to need it.

I left Schmitt after I became suspicious of being ripped off. Our electric bill was rising over the past 3 years. Within the last 3 years it started failing to cool down the house completely. Keep in mind I had paid the enormous price of $350 for their annual maintenance contract each year since I owned the house (2013) for 2 visits per year. The contract covered end to end testing and cleaning. Never did they check the outside heat pump condenser coil to see if debris was preventing air flow. Never did they tell me that there was a refrigerant leak in the evaporator coil. They pretended to do work and left but I could not prove it. The straw that broke my camels back was calling them 4 months ago about the house not cooling properly during the day. They came out on my second maintenance contract call to troubleshoot. They said there was no leak and everything looked great. But the refrigerant charge was a bit low. So they added 3 lbs of refrigerant. The charge did not last 2 weeks. I then called them back. They tried to find a leak and said it was the refrigerant valved outside on the heat pump that was leaking. They replaced that and recharged the system. For that it cost me $170 for 30 minutes. It did not last 1 week. So I called them back requesting a more experienced mechanic to troubleshoot and find the problem. They never called me back so I call them again. They finally talked to me and I requested the more experience mechanic again at which time they hung up on me, so to speak. I was transferred somewhere and put on hold for a long time. I smelled a rat and decided to take the group recommendation to call Mosley. Mosley found the leak within 5 minutes on-sight in the evaporator coil, a known defect as determined by a class action lawsuit. They did what Schmitt could not or would not do after years of visits.

One brand new AC coil leaked multiple time under 5 years! Google the legal settlement for the AC they will install it for you and they installs garbage for you.
