At sixteen, I began by sweeping floors and tagging along with my father on jobs during a time when that was typical. I remember being on the roof of an Edison site in Corona at the age of ten, around 40 years ago, when fewer regulations allowed such things. Today, things are quite different; we have regulations for nearly everything.

For many years, I handled installations in commercial and residential environments, then shifted to service work, concentrating on larger refrigeration systems like wineries and packing facilities. I now spend my time exploring ways to offer you the finest products and service practices, enhancing our delivery to you, our clients.

Sanborn's in Redlands prides themselves on their years in business and service they provide. They have this ""5 Star Guarantee"" that looks good on paper but has a time limit window. When you fall outside that window, well, I guess you are just screwed.

I bought a Trane HVAC unit from them in 2018. It cost just under 14k. I pay for the yearly maintenance program, so they come out and service my HVAC twice a year.

My A/C stopped working on July 15th. They were able to come out on July 16th. They diagnosed the compressor failed. Do they have any in stock? NO. The part is under warranty. The whole unit is. Does the manufacturer have any in stock? Supposedly NO. The part was on backorder. Sanborn's came back out August 2nd to replace the compressor. Apparently, the part is faulty, and they now feel there is another problem part. Do they have that in stock? NO.

I guess since there is no money to be made for them when things go bad under warranty, there is no rush for service, no consideration that the temperature has been in the 90s, no consideration that I have pets who wear coats year-round, and the fact that I work from home.

They provided one portable A/C unit. It really doesn't help. My home is not the size of a closet. I went out and bought two more portable A/C units and four high-speed fans to try and keep my pets alive. My electric bill went up $300 with the use of those purchases to keep two rooms habitable.

They now claim they found one of the two parts needed. It will arrive Friday, and they can install Monday.

Again, they are supposedly a 24/7 company who takes pride in their service. I guess since there is no money to be made for them, as a so-called valued customer I can just wait.

Think twice before you buy an HVAC system from them. I am on day 20 with a useless 14k system that is just over 5 years old.

Jonathan was Friendly, polite and organized company. Thank you for the professional heating/cooling and water heater installation! Could not have expected better results. We received many quotes ranging from cheap to very expensive, however, Jonathan took the time necessary to explain how the system works to someone who had no clue and now I feel like I have a very good understanding on how my heating and cooling system operates and how to maintain it. Jonathan took care of my house and my mom's house, for new equipment. His system design is by far the best around!

My 94 year old mother is on an annual service plan with Sanborn's. Last week their tech came out to do the annual checkup and told her that the AC was not working. Tech gave her some mumbo-jumbo about what was wrong and said the parts would be covered under warranty (AC unit is only five years old) but the labor to fix it would be $4000.00.....are you kidding me??? Fortunately she called me to get some advise and I told her not to do anything till I could look into it. In the interim she called the owner of the company and told him she didn't have the money to fix it and he reduced the labor charge to $2400.00.

I called another local HVAC company and the tech that came out did a thorough inspection and said THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM!!!! That's right...nothing wrong. Now this was after Sanborn's sold her a new AC unit five years ago that she didn't need and convinced her to put the highly inflated price on payments. By the way...she has been doing business with these $%%#% since 1960's.

Bottom line...these guys are (in my opinion) unethical, immoral untrustworthy and should be avoided at all costs.

We were having our AC check up and the tech, Armando, did a great job. He thoroughly checks our systems and explain the outcome. He also had pointed out some issues and gave us possible fixes. Then he went above and beyond when he asked if there was anything else he could do. I explained I am having balance issues and needed to change a kitchen ceiling light. Without missing a beat, he changed it for me. Didn't expect that! Thank you Armando!!
The only issue I had was with the front office in that we had explained that we work (which is why we scheduled for the latest time (330pm-530pm). I got 3 calls trying to change the time to an earlier one. Guys, please listen to your customers. Some of us work during the day and can't just take off from work in a moment's notice.

Love these guys. Fixed what others claimed to fix and didn't. I've used them and other companies too much for my liking but if you need a job done right, call Sanborns.
I had a coil go bad and the staff went way out of their way to get it under warranty. Saved me thousands.
I got a quote just to fill my refrigerant from another company and it was as much as the whole labor and refrigerant cost from Sandborns.

Fan blades sheared off on my AC, called 8 different HVAC shops to purchase replacement blades. Every shop said they have blades but would not sell them to me, they had to do the repair in order to get the blades. 9th shop I call is Sanborns, I explain what I need and the Rep says, ""come on down and if we don't have them in stock, we will order for you ASAP.
I go down, hand over my blades to the Parts guy, he goes in back and comes out with the replacement blades. He happily said, ""we will sell you the blades or if you'd like, we can install them for you, we just appreciate your business"". Thank you Sanborns for such awesome customer service! Y'all just made a lifetime customer!

Sanborn's SAVED me during the recent brutal hot spell when my A/C unit died. The other company I contacted was more expensive and told me they couldn't install a new system for 10 days. Sanborn's got the job done two days after I approved the estimate. The technicians who did the work were pleasant, competent, and very tidy (they put down canvas drop cloths throughout the house). I would not recommend this company. They refused to fix an issue stemming from their installation. Be prepared to pay a minimum of $365 for after-hours service to clear a clogged condensate line.
