After the hurricane, I contacted Bates and talked to two managers to set them up to connect large portable generator. I bought the parts and drove straight from Milwaukee to Fort Myers. Regardless of their promises, they did NOT keep their word. They didn't call back or answer any of my numerous emails. They completely ignored us and couldn't keep their word.

Now today, the exact same thing happened. I thought I'd try them one more time. We set up an appointment for today and agreed with their emergency rates. They promised that they'd show up - but again didn't keep their promise. At 5:15 I called their office and checked with the office staff. She promised to check with the tech and call me back. She failed to keep her word.

Nobody showed up or called us, just like two weeks ago. This firm has proven a lack of character, integrity and does not have the ability to keep their word.

Don't waste your time. You have been warned.

This has been the most disappointing situation for me in quite some time. Our residential community in Estero, Florida, needed some new lighting around our community pool. I called and left voice messages on March 8 and March 17 but no one called me back. I went on their website and filled out a scheduling form outlining what we needed. After several days without response, I called the Bates number on their website and was told they had no record of my completed scheduling form.

This was the fourth time I have contacted them for a job and I am no further along than the very first day. If a company cannot handle the simple electronics of voice mail and website scheduling I don't believe they have the expertise to put new lights up in Estero, Florida

Hired the company to hang a lamp on a 22' ceiling in a Naples FL condo. They quoted me 2 guys an hour each at $165 per hour for a total of $330. Fine. We follow their confirmation system with them contacting us 3 separate times to confirm. We did. The afternoon before the 8am installation, the company calls to hold us up for way more money than the quote or they won't show.

Made appointment for them to come out and give us an estimate for a whole house generator. They never showed up. Guess they don't need the business.
