In the past two years, I have obtained quotes and had work done by a number of electricians at my home and at rental property. I have had problems with several jobs performed. Then finally, I called Ron Dorris Electric. Dave diagnosed the main panel at my home which was replaced last year during a remodel and determined that there were code violations and serious issues concerning safety. He fully explained every issue and prepared a quote to completely replace the panel as needed to ensure our code compliance and safety. It took three days to complete the job because of the scope of work, seriousness of the issues and to work with PGE and the city as required. I have complete confidence in the work Dave performed. The new panel and sub panel should serve us for as long as we are in this home and beyond. He explained the job clearly, provided quality materials and did outstanding work. The price was fair and reasonable. Anytime I need an electrician in the future, it will be Ron Dorris Electric, and I would be happy if it were Dave. Thank you so much.

I have had Ron Dorris Electric do three jobs for me at my home in Oakmont. Two were minor, a new ballast and switch for my kitchen fluorescent fixture; and a photocell circuit to operate my porch lamp.

The third job was major: Tear out the 43-year-old main electric panel where the juice comes into the house and all the circuit breakers, plus install a second ground spike and bond everything together to the now-two grounds, bonding the gas pipes and all the water pipes as well as the new main electric panel.

I asked for Dave to do the work because he had done the kitchen work and he did a fine job and is a nice guy. He did a great job on the big panel/breakers project, put in high-quality Cutler-Hammer components with a huge solid copper bus, and upped the main breakers from 100 to 125 amps after PG&E had inspected and approved that.

Dave did the job on time and the bill was exactly as quoted.

He did such a good job, I had him back a 3rd time to do the photocell project.

These guys do a great job, they are honest, and they are reliable. I trust Dave so much I gave him a key to my place and had him do the job while I was out of town.

Had a problem with an outlet and circuit breaker last night. Called Ron Dorris last night and left a message that we needed their help and that I was only going to be home until a certain time. This morning shortly after 8am the office called and said they would have someone out to help us within the hour. Justin arrived and took care of everything and made some suggestions of what should be done in the future regarding our wiring. He wrote up and estimate so we know exactly what needs to be done and what the cost is. We have used this company for years and will continue to do so. Their customer service is excellent....and always has been.....

Great staff, excellent workmanship.

We had an electrician we used from a different source which did some major work for us. The work was poorly done and not up to 'code."" We contacted Ron Dorris and the electrician gave us a thorough cost estimate, and we knew exactly what we were getting. The work was high quality and perfectly done. The electricians were experienced and knowledgeable and if we have any questions, we could call back and they were there to see what needed to be done.

here is my tale, a classic contractor story. made appointment 2 days prior. called to confirm morning of, confirmed. adjusted my schedule...raced home to be here on time only to have these classic schnooks cancel. The lie- ""oh our guy is at a job he cant leave"" well dip sticks who does your scheduling? what's the point of making appointment if your not going to honor it.? People don't waste your time with theses clowns- I can only imagine what there work is like if they cant even keep an appointment...lame Ron...lame.

Back in 2010 I hired Ron Dorris Electric and Solar to install a solar electric system on the roof of my home, and to replace an antiquated main breaker panel at the same time. His crew were reliable and on time, cleaned up after themselves and did a stellar job. Pricing was very competitive, and I'm pleased to say that everything continues to function flawlessly over 3 years later. And thanks to the solar, my PG&E bill is in the negative at least half the year! An honest and high integrity contractor, and one that I can recommend without hesitation.
