RBC is an excellent business for electrical needs. I needed an electrical panel upgrade for my home. I went on Angie's list and Yelp, and was referred to and spoke to about 10 different electrician companies. Seven out of 10 provided me outrageously high cost estimates. RBC gave me one of the three lowest quotes, while the other two presented as flaky and con artist-types. Ultimately, I went with RBC and do not regret it. Mike Wozab and his crew were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and provided top-notch service. Mike took the time to explain in great detail all the services and options involved, did not cut corners, and also used high-quality supplies. From inspection, to permitting, to project completion, RBC was reliable, thorough, and economical. I am extremely satisfied with their service and highly recommend Rock Bottom Construction for electric and general contracting upgrades.

Professional work from start to finish! Jeremy led a team to install a hot tub and swim spa, which involved excavation, placing units, coordinating with electrician, constructing decking, and securing permit and final approval. Jeremy was at the site nearly every day, communicated consistently and clearly, answered questions and lightly offered suggestions. The project was finished early and on budget. Thoroughly impressive!

My situation was a tough one to tackle. I wanted to implement a high powered solar system and unfortunately, that required me to upgrade my 100a electrical panel to a 200a panel. I thought it would be easy, but if you have SDGE, you are required to trench and upgrade your electrical power line coming from the city. I quickly realized this was going to be the biggest electrical project I'd done.

I found RBC through home advisor and Mike came to talk to me about the project. As soon as I told him about it, he made me aware of the entire process, all the checks involved, and how much digging was involved. It was a breath of fresh air knowing that Mike knew about the entire process and I didn't have to learn every single step myself. Many other electricians denied my project because of how big the project was. I was committed to getting solar, so we got started.

Mike worked with me and talked me through every step. His team was actually always ahead of schedule, but we unfortunately always had to wait for either the city or SDGE to come and sign off on each step. After 4 months of sign offs and constant construction in my area, we got our go ahead with ease solely because the RBC team knew everything to look for before it happened. I paid RBC half the money at the beginning, and then half the money at completion. Thankful they allowed me to do that for such a big project.

Lastly Mike gave me a great deal for doing some extra work that really fixed many things at my place. Things like fixing all the construction areas with new concrete, a full rework on my electrical panel, implement a new sub panel, etc. thankful for Mike and the RBC team to give me the experience I received from them for this monstrous job. I go to RBC for all of my electrical concerns and new asks from now on.

Rock Bottom construction did an excellent job on my home for electrical. They showed up early, completed the job and left the house spotless. Their price was lower than everyone else. I will be recommending this company to friends and family.

We had to fix some un-permitted electrical work from the previous owner after buying our house. Mike did a great job updating our breakers up to code and installing a ground line from the front of the house back to the electrical panel. He took care of fixing up the dry wall himself and got his stucco guy to patch around the panel.
We were also installing a hot tub and Jeremy's team was super efficient setting up the conduit the best way possible.
We definitely recommend Rock Bottom for any electrical work you need both inside and outside the house.

Hello everyone, I would like to take the time and write a review about Rock Bottom Construction Inc. Mike Wozab and his two professionals are the real deal, you can go on Home advisor and get many people. However, its really a joy to find a man of Quality and honesty, ,To keep your needs upfront. I spent alot of money upgrading my home, ,some 20 years worth.
I showed Mike my old Electrical panel that needed upgrading to 200amps and then to Install a Transfer Panel to operate a Gen, when the power goes out. You folks out there if you need upgrading call mike, 949 842 3085, email mjjrwozab@gmail.com. Hes one stop shopping for all your needs.

I'm going to preface this review by stating that I am an engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering. That means I research everything to death when I have a big home project. I also try to understand all aspects of the project, learn the lingo, and try to understand the relevant node (NEC in this case). It also means that I am particular about what I want done, how it gets done and can be seen as ""picky"" (ask my wife).

I was replacing a 50yr old flush mount electrical box with a 100A main. I wanted to replace it with a 200A panel with a 50A inlet to allow for connection of a generator (for SCE PSPS's) and a 50A outlet in the garage for a future electric car, all with permits. I got quotes from several places and Rock Bottom (RBC) was the first to respond and come out to provide an estimate. We talked thru the options and Mike listened and made suggestions. Rather than a 50A outlet in the garage, he convinced me that for almost the same cost I could run a 100A sub-panel which would provide a lot more flexibility in the future. He provided a quote on the spot and then followed up in text. Since RBC is licensed for both electrical and general construction, he could also include the stucco restoration (minus the paint). This was an important differentiator from others who either had to sub out the stucco or I would have to find someone on my own. Mike also advised me to get my meter spot as soon as possible which I did and it really helped. Mike waited patiently as I gathered a few quotes, but in the end, RBC was the best option and we signed a contract on a Friday. Since he had the panel in stock, they started the work the following Monday - talk about fast turnaround!

Monday morning rolled around and they were there early to start the stucco demo and installation. Once I let them in, I went to work and my wife went elsewhere (since the AC would be off for the day). I got home around 4 and the work was still proceeding. Unfortunately, the scope of the work turned out be bigger than Mike originally thought, but there was never any pressure to change the terms of our contract as a result. His guys worked hard until almost 9pm to get our power back on. I felt bad because it was so hot on the west side of the house in the afternoon sun. I did what I could for them with battery powered fans, but I can only imagine it was miserable. Once they got most things hooked up I quickly ran around and made sure most things were working and they left for the night.

The next day they returned to do the last few hook ups (outside stuff which wasn't needed the first night) and grounding to the hot water heater. Unfortunately, some problems started arising then. When I got home I found that the pool pump wasn't working and a grounding wire for the solar wasn't reconnected. So back they came the next day and fixed those items.

Once I mapped out all the circuits while waiting for city inspection I also found that a circuit that used to be 20A was now on a 15A breaker, and unfortunately was one of the most used circuits in the house. Mike offered to fix it after inspection.

Inspection took a few days to get scheduled and once it came, unfortunately no one from RBC was present so the inspector couldn't complete the inspection and left a correction notice. Re-inspection was 2 days later and we passed with a couple corrections allowing stucco to happen the very next day. Mikes stucco guy showed up early the next morning as promised (though a specific start time was never communicated) and he had to work all day to get everything patched up. And per Mike's promise when we signed the contract, he also repaired some damaged stucco in my courtyard.

A couple days later Mike came by to install the generator inlet (needed to wait for the stucco to dry) and swap out the 15A circuit that used to be a 20A. Unfortunately, the circuit replacement wasn't done correctly and the correction items on the inspection weren't completed. Mike didn't have easy access to the right breaker, so I ended up ordering it on Amazon for him to install.

Final inspection happened and we passed, even without finishing the correction items (which is weird). Mike came by a couple days later to finish up, including installing the breaker I ordered, but I was out of town on business and I asked him to coordinate with my wife and provided her phone number. Mike gave a 2 day window to come and never contacted her, so she had to stick around waiting, not knowing when he'd show up (she had to open the garage for one of the correction items). But finally, everything was completed, exactly a month after the first day of work.

Overall, the work was high quality and the initial work was done very quickly, but the missed inspection, several mistakes and inconsistent proactive communication (though whenever I messaged Mike, he always messaged back quickly) make this a 4 star instead of 5 star review. But do remember, I'm picky.

Mike from RBC did a great job. He was knowledgeable and communicated well. His team was on time and worked efficiently. We added a sub-panel in the garage, and moved some breakers to the new box to add room in the main panel. They found the cause of the original breaker problem, and solved a few other problems while they were there.
I give them a strong recommendation.

Jeremy and his crew are fantastic. They showed up on time every day, did great work and have good prices. They recommend and did things as part of the job that I had not considered. They are the best! If you can, use them!
