Our expertise lies in modern lighting setups, light art, LED cove lighting, and commercial lighting solutions. We design electrical systems for commercial construction, such as tenant improvements, and work alongside general contractors. Our installations extend to residential houses, condos, and apartments as well. We dedicate a substantial amount of our time to service and repair for commercial and residential clients.

We handle landscape lighting, security lighting, light poles, and temporary power for new builds and trade shows, offering on-site maintenance as necessary. If needed, we can assign an electrician to manage your temporary power requirements daily.

I am Robert Dickens, and I have been in the electrical field since 1992. After graduating from the ABC apprenticeship program in 1997, I have held positions as both a journeyman and foreman. I hold a C-10 license and carry general liability insurance.

I truly enjoy what I do. At Rob's Electrical Services, we are dedicated to fulfilling your electrical requirements with a track record of success. We are available Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM for emergencies, scheduled maintenance, and repairs.

OK, you asked for a review so here it is Rob!

I am tired of someone who keeps bugging me for a review. I prefer writing only good reviews when I see a company or person who deserves one. I will not even bother getting into the details as to why I rated this place 2 stars. All I can say is I will not be using them again. I used them twice. First time was ok. Second time, Rob was very pushy to get me to hire him. He called me 3 times the morning of when they came out. I was not even fully awake and in a bad mood because I felt his sales pressure pitch. I just wanted to get this over with. I was not going to use him because I wanted both a microwave and a ceiling fan replaced.

I told him I only want to hire one person to do both and I simply called him to see if he knew of someone that installed microwaves and that is when he mentioned they could do both for me, but installing a microwave was not something they normally do.

Well, two months after they installed the ceiling fan, it stopped spinning. So I called him to just ask him a question what could be reasons. He was not very helpful at this point. I was not even blaming his work. I was damned if I was going to hire him again. I instead found me a Very Good Handyman in my area who did not talk to me as if I was dumb. I do not like being mislead and pressured in hiring and that is what I felt.

The lighting jobs, the ceiling fan installation & the refrigerator electrical wiring repair performed by Rob & his crew have been done well, quickly & fairly priced. I also have to commend Rob on his excellent communication regarding calling me re: anticipated ETA as the jobs got closer in so I didn't have to wait around for a long window of time. It shows respect for me & my time. When assessing the projects, Rob gave easy to understand explanations of what the jobs would entail, provided options of how to do the jobs depending on how much money I wanted to spend and his recommendations. I went on Home Advisors to put in a request to rewire my entire house, add new outlets, and put recess/can lights in 2 bedrooms and a living room. Rob, the owner, contacted me immediately to set up an appointment. Since, I had to work during the weekday, I usually only can be at the house on the weekend. Rob explained he does not have weekend appointments, because he wants to spend time with his family. Understandable. Therefore, I arranged my work schedule and had him come out at 9am on a Wednesday.

Rob calls me at 7:30am on the day of our appointment and said he was in my area and wanted to come now. I informed him there was someone in the house right now, I have a tenant living at the house, so that would not be possible. I have already made arrangement with my tenant to be out of the house by 9am. Rob then said, ""So I have to figure out something to do for the next hour and a half?""

At the appointed time, I was at the house and showed him what I wanted done. I told him what my budget was and when I needed the work done. He did not bring any tools to measure the room or check the outlets. He just had a notepad to take notes on what I wanted done. After walking through the house he sent me a proposal with the price which met my budget and my timeline. Therefore, I decided to hire him. I had other electricians come out and they were booked solid and could not meet my timeline. Rob came out on Wednesday and said he can start the job on Friday. I hired him because he was ready to go and I also checked his reviews on the referral website and there were many positive reviews (now I question whether they avoid posting negative reviews) and he had a good rating with the BBB.

Things start going downhill when he came out after I accepted his bid. We were trying to figured out where the new recessed lights should be place in the living room. He was very short with me and kept saying, ""I don't want to do this twice."" When I questioned some of the light placement, he started getting annoyed and again said, ""I do not want to do this twice,"" I wanted to avoid having shadows on the perimeter of the room and asked his advice on best placement to avoid shadows. He started getting annoyed and rude with his responses.

I felt like I was asking him to do me a favor by talking through the light replacement. I was hoping to rely on his advisement, since this is what he does, to help me get the right lighting placement. My living room and dining room are combed. So I suggested a separate switch for the dinning room, so if I am not using the dining room, I can leave the lights off. He said that would $100 more to add a new switch. When I questioned that charge, he said, ""This is not a charity.""

After a few more rude comments, I just had enough and I decided not to hire him. I asked him to leave. He started saying how he has already scheduled his crew and tried to change my mind. I felt, if you are this rude to me before you start my project, I can only imagine how you would treat me if there are any problems that might come up along the way or after the job is done.

After he left, he emailed me to apologize and said he can be nice. His assistant/office manager also called and offered her apology. She offered to take off $100 from the bid, if I go forward with the job. I told her, ""No, thank you."" I didn't give them one star, because he and his assistant/office manager did apologized. However, I work hard for my money and I want someone who will appreciate the business. Rob acted like he was doing me a favor by taking the job. So I went with another electrician.

This was a typical fan install job anyone could have done, since I'm flipping the house I saved myself some time to have it sub'd out. Drywall guy showed up to patch the hole, told him twice it was not even close to matching the texture after he finished. My three year old son could have sprayed texture on the ceiling better. Called Rob and he said no worries and he'd personally take care of it! He showed up apparently in a bad mood on Monday, three days later from the fan install on the previous Friday , I showed him the spot and he asked me ""what should we should do""? Duh! YOU FIX IT !! He stomped off like a my three year old and was now acting like it was an inconvenience to even be here. He proceeded to engaged in more antagonistic hostile conversation insulting my house (in the middle of it being painted and tile being put on the wall) and said ""we'll just see how that looks when your done""! Several other rude comments later I told him to leave as he never even stated to do the repair. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL ! ! Give someone else your hard earned money without getting a hard time about it !!

for our house remodel, we hired Robert to do a complete rewire and service panel upgrade. we found Rob's electrical services through Homewyse.com and after interviewing several electrical contractors, decided to hire Robert. His prices are great and he delivered as promised on time and within budget. We got to work with his crew which included Don (Foreman) and Aaron. they were all super knowledgeable and easy to work with. Throughout the process, Robert always communicated very well with us and showed up when he said they would. The team was always prompt and polite. Our scope of work included whole house rewiring, new outlets, new switches, LED can lights, AC, fire sprinkler and bell wiring, and service panel relocation. Robert helped to coordinate with SDGE to comply with required building codes. Robert provided very good input, but was also willing to work with us when we wanted specific brands of LED lights and dimmer switches. Robert has a type A personality and made sure things were done the right way. Robert and team were great and I will definitely call Robert back for any future work.
