Total rip off. Christian charges the moon and does shoddy work. I have pictures and reports from reputable electricians. Will be reporting him to the cslb. They should take away his license.

DANGEROUS! DO NOT USE! Originally, they'd helped my parents, although I'd thought their prices were high, the work seemed acceptable so we gave them a shot. They never came out when they said, always with some excuses for why they had to move our appointments, and their prices were very high. We had them do some work in our garage, extending an existing line and outlet. When the line went out, they couldn't be bothered to come out and get it back up and running. They kept promising to come, but never did. Eventually, they stopped returning our calls. I guess it was one too many lies even for them. When we brought in another electrician to get our power back up, we found out that Rivas had run the line to the wrong breaker, using a much lower amperage than required which had caused the problem and worse. The system was overloaded, and some of the components were charred because of Rivas' work. We'd nearly had an electrical fire at the breaker panel that could have taken down not just the system but our entire house. We learned that our electrical panel was out of date (verified by three other electricians as soon as they saw it), overburdened, and in desperate need of replacement. Rivas had been in that panel repeatedly, but never said a thing about it. They failed at every turn.

It was our good fortune to be referred to Rivas Electric. Our house needed so much electrical work done and we knew that it was going to be a difficult job that could only be done by knowledgeable people.
Mr. Juan Rivas came to us and from the initial contact we could tell that he knew his work. He was very honest with us as far as what was needed for our best interest and safety.
We have been very impressed with the electrical work performed by Rivas Electric. The staff was punctual, reliable, efficient, respectful and pleasant.
SOME of the work done was: replaced breakers on mail panel, installed LED can lights, replaced receptacles, GFCI and switches and in the attic did troubleshoot all wires and circuits.
They did a fantastic job, we are extremely satisfied with Rivas Electric that we will be using them again to do the outside part of our house.
We highly recommend Rivas Electric, we appreciate their commitment to honesty and integrity in their business practices.

About a year past, I had the privilege of hiring Juan Rivas to fix a long old electric malfunction -- spliced and misfiring electrical connection in my kitchen. I and my wife spotted his black and gold van on 210 Eastbound. My wife encouraged me to give him a chance when we ran out of credible choices. I'm a somewhat peculiar individual. He ( with his son) were punctual, courteous, respectful and incredibly professional. He fixed the wiring connections and was able to foresee a potential future mishap or problems concerning my aging receptacles which he replaced with better parts than the original throughout my entire house in the later weeks. His labor charges are reasonable and very fair like a God fearing person. I never had any complaints about his work. His work is incredibly quality, dilligent, painstaking with genuine parts and pieces. Securing an appointment with Rivas Electric might be a little prolonged and frustrating, but the wait is undeniably worthwhile. I'm difficult to please because I unrealistically expect 100% from services I paid for, but Rivas Electric did not disappoint. I will hire him one thousand times over. That's how much confidence I have in his work ethics, tenet and professional integrity. You can take that to the bank!
