Founded in 2002, Reliable Power Systems? in Queens by Robert and Margie Biscardi. After building a thriving business in New York, the couple chose to relocate to create something new — a family.
Since then, Reliable Power Systems? has grown into South Florida's leading source for full-service electrical contracting. Committed to philanthropy, they contributes to fundraising for Cooley's Anemia research and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Owner Robert Biscardi has always had a deep passion for helping his community. In 1995, he joined a Firefighter with the New York City Fire Department. After 10 years of dedicated service, Robert looked for new ways to serve while also creating employment opportunities and a foundation for his future family. With this goal in mind, Robert stepped down from the fire department, and he and Margie devoted their time and energy to growing his electrical company, Sun Electric Works, Inc. (established in 2002).
Come 2006, the Biscardis decided to transfer their business to beautiful South Florida in pursuit of the well-known warmth and sunshine — giving new meaning to the company name! By 2009, they launched the full-service generator division, Reliable Power Systems, delivering another way for Robert to support the residents of South Florida by ensuring safe and effective emergency standby power and the assurance that comes with it.

I asked the company to install a stationary back-up generator and a propane tank. I signed an agreement with them in May and paid them a deposit of more than 4K. I was told the project will be completed in August. Then they disappeared. Multiple calls to Reliable were either ignored, or answered after long delays, or only after complaints were made. I tried to complain to the supervisor but was told that I would not be able to reach him directly, neither via phone nor via email. More than 5 months later, nothing even started. Will be requesting refund.

I needed service as my pavers in driveway next to Propane tank sunk. Renardo and Leonardo were excellent in fixing my problem. Well done and were very accommodating.

I posted here on 8/8/23 about how I couldn't get a return phone call from Reliable or MBM regarding the status my generator project and got two phone calls that day. Amazing! The woman from MBM said that the permits were being held up by the Palm Beach County Permit Department. She assured me that I would receive a call by 8/17 as to the status of my permits. The second call from Reliable that afternoon from Reliable said that I should be hearing from the installation department once the permits were secured. Well, 8/17 has come and gone. I called Reliable yesterday and spoke to the ""overflow"" person. She promised that someone would contact me right away. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. Think twice before contracting with this company. Check the BBB before making a decision to use (UN)Reliable.

I contracted with Reliable Power System to have services for my generator, good service, amazing experience!

We purchased a Generac generator from Reliable to provide power to our entire house. The cost was approximately $30,000. In four years, the generator has not worked properly. It cuts off power for no reason at all and requires repairs with every incident (at least four in last four years). When the power has failed (a rarer event then the generator knocking out our power), the generator did not go on. Reliable blames the manufacturer, Generac, but they always embrace Generac in their advertising. The technicians have generally been good and represent the company well. The problem is that our generator causes more worry than it cures and that is not why you buy a generator. This is an honest assessment. We have had other generators in other homes, most notably during hurricane Sandy when my generator in New Jersey ran non-stop for two straight weeks. That generator gave us peace of mind. we knew we could leave our home and if the power failed the generator would go on and if we weren't home, we didn't have to worry about the generator causing a power failure on its own. Losing air conditioning in a Florida home because a generator triggers a power failure is not a good thing!

I waited YEARS to get a generator for my home (just in case) and I finally got it!
I had to go through city permits which took nearly 3 months and then the work began! I have no problem waiting for permits to go through. As long as i got my generator installed was my only concern.
I had workmen digging the yard for the 320 gallon propane tank to be buried and the slab set on the yard and the generator hooked into the electrical panel Reliable installed on my house. This later had to be moved because the exhaust from the generator was near my homes front door which scared me because of the carbon monoxide.
Here is where the one star came off: When the inspections on the work began I failed the inspections because 1. they left a bracket unsecured to my wall, I ALSO had to ASK for my soffits to be blocked off so that none of the carbon monoxide fumes would enter my home. When i asked, ""do a lot of customers ask for their soffits to be blocked?' the workman replied, ""we do this on every job I dont know why they didnt do it on yours."" WOW...ok. There was also some spaces where the soffit wasnt covered and those were supposed to be foam sealed and Reliable said foam sealing is not in their contract so they suggested caulking the spaces that were left open. I dont care as long as it passes the inspection. They did end up using the foam as per the citys request.
In their behalf all the mistakes were corrected and they even relocated the generator so that the exhaust didnt face my front door like it did the first time they put the generator on its slab. I feel a lot better and am very grateful they faced the exhaust away from my home. Even though the company didnt advise me to get a CO2 smoke detector (the electric guy who came to inspect from the city told me I had to have one of those) I did buy one and its up in my living room by the door so if any CO2 comers in it will alert me with a high pitched chirp.
It is now well over 4 months and my once a week phone calls have stopped from the company updating me on their work. I am wondering if this project will ever get finished! There were two hurricanes which thank goodness did not hit where I live otherwise I would have really been mad that this wasnt completed in a timely manner.
Now I feel this is just a waiting game to see if Reliable passes the inspections and then WHEN will they be at my house to show me the start up and how the generator operates. I am not that concerned but I feel a little out of the loop as I wait for the jobs completion.
I made a call to the company on Nov 14th to ask if someone was going to start up the generator to make sure it was working correctly and to show me how it works and to ask IF the inspections were all completed. WELL, Dave the project manager took the blame as he told me and was mad at being blamed for dropping the ball on my project. THEN i got a call from Sonya who told me they have me scheduled for monday the 21st. I said IF it goes to December it will be FIVE MONTHS from beginning to end on my project. I am just happy we did not lose power this year die to the two hurricanes that came or way. NOW who was at fault for burying my file and never finishing the job? I dont know I am just glad I called and started the ball that was left rolling again to get this job completed.
This has been a long journey! I am glad it is nearly completed.
The generator and its installation has finally passed all its inspections! I am so happy for that even if it took almost 5 months to get this all together! It was worth the wait! I am confident if we ever lose power my generator will work like a champ!

Eduardo was the electrician who came to our house initially to change one light switch. After replacing the switch something still wasn't right so he opened up another switch that also turned on the same light and saw a problem that the previous installer had created. Eduardo fixed it perfectly! He also made some good recommendations for putting in a better light.
He was on time. He cleaned up the dust he left. He was a super nice gent. I will ask for him when I need more electrical work done by Reliable.

good morning, I never write a review but after dealing with Reliable for about a year I thought it was time that that changed.
I've found this company to be the most professional I've dealt with since buying a home here three years ago. most of the time it takes tw to three different companies to preform a task to our satisfaction, but not with Reliable. From our salesperson to the office staff and to the men in the field I highly recommend them and hope this review gives you peace of mind when choosing them.
thanks,

I recently had the opportunity to work with Reliable Power Systems, an electrical company that specializes in generator installations. I have to say, I am really surprised that they are not rated higher. I had an amazing experience!
I was in need of a standby generator for my home, and I checked out quite a few companies before going with Reliable Power Systems. The experience I had with them was top-notch from start to finish. The technicians were all very professional and knowledgeable, and they made sure to explain the entire process to me as well as all the features of the unit. I also have nothing but nice things to say about the office team. I dealt with them quite a bit over the last few months and they were alqata very pleasant and efficient.
One thing that stood out to me was the attention to detail that the technicians displayed while they were doing the install. They took the time to make sure that everything was done right and that the generator was installed in a way that would both meet code requirements and ensure its longevity and reliability. They even took the time to answer the plethora of questions I had, which I really appreciated. I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed.
Overall, I am very happy with the results of my experience with Reliable Power Systems. Although the investment was definitely pricey, the price was competitive and I feel confident knowing that I have a reliable source of power for when the electricity goes out. In the end, I couldn't be happier with the job that the company did.
I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of a generator installation in Palm Beach County. Five stars.

Absolutely floored with how quickly they were able to arrive, install, and complete (a rather large) job. Easily, 9-10 guys showed up the day we agreed upon.
After installation, 3 additional appointments were made to carefully walk me through the system, fully explaining how it works, what to do in case of emergency, etc.
A 10/10 company that puts customer service first. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
