Rip-off Alert

I hired Reliable Heating & Air to take care of our AC. The technician was a very nice man and tried his best. However, when I got the bill I saw a rip-off. They billed me $207 for a $10 contactor and $125 for a $6 capacitor. When I called them to ask about the basis for their spare part charges, she told me: ""our prices are our prices."" Beware of this business and their 2000% convenience fee on spare parts!

I purchased my unit from Reliable a few years ago for my rental unit so it is still under warranty. During one of the hot days in the past month, the HVAC went out. I contacted Reliable and they said the earliest the could get out was the next day which is why this wasn't a 5 star review. However, they did coordinate with my tenant to meet with him to remedy the problem. I have not had any report issues since.

Staff and technicians were very friendly and accommodating! Had a misunderstanding on my wants for getting my ducts inspected and cleaned but they handled it beautifully by rescheduling so they could do both. Crew was very efficient and answered all my questions! Woke up the morning after having my ducts cleaned and no stuffy nose! Would highly recommend Reliable Heating & Air to family and friends!

We always call Reliable for heating and air, plumbing and electrical. They are reliable, do quality work, are quick to respond when we call. We have used Reliable for years and recommend them highly to friends and family. I like the fact that the company is local and family oriented. They follow up on the service call and have great customer service. Highly recommend this company.

Let the buyer beware. We've used Reliable now for years and they have installed or replaced many of the items in our home (2 Heating units, one A/C unit, 2 water heaters). We have an AC unit in our basement that was tripping a circuit, so we called our trusted partner - Reliable Heating & Air - to inspect. They sent a technician who inspected the equipment, told us our compressor was bad and that it was not cost effective to repair it. He said we needed a new unit and he provided a quote for well over $3,000 to replace the system. We put off the purchase at the time as it was Fall and we were not going to use the AC for months. We recontacted Reliable again in the late Spring, and based on their prior tech recommendation, they provided a 2nd quote for $3,400, but they did not reinspect the equipment. We decided to get a 2nd opinion and the 2nd firm did a thorough review. Their findings? We needed to replace the $10 breaker at the breaker box that had gone bad and was tripping. Our AC unit was in perfect running condition. We had the breaker replaced and have had no further issue. So, we avoided spending $3,400 with Reliable and paid another firm $10 for a part, plus a small fee for their time. The experience left me wondering how many $1,000s we may have wasted with Reliable on other unnecessary equipment over the years. We won't be doing business with Reliable any longer.

Don't use Reliable Heating and Air. I paid for their maintenance program and just found out that my air filter in our main unit had not been replaced in a year and a half! The service technician changed his diagnosis twice when I had a cooling problem, so he didn't really have a clear idea about what was wrong. The communication between service technicians is very poor as well as communication among those in management. No one seemed to be able to give clear answers when speaking with the technicians, office personnel, and those in management. I stopped using them and never will again. I don't usually write reviews but felt compelled to write this one.

The customer service I received was shockingly poor. The technician misdiagnosed the problem. Then they wanted me to pay another $89 service fee just to get a PRICE to fix the same problem. Sounds like a scam to me. No thanks. I will gladly call someone else. Update: Yes, Lea Anne, I would love to contact you immediately.

Should be renamed unreliable due to the service we received. We tried to go with a well known company to diagnose an hvac issue. They schedule two appointments with us, both times failing to meet the schedule window and not calling until after the window - with no apologies. The second day I called the office and they said the technician had to wait on a customer who was not home for an install. Meanwhile, we've been waiting at home for two days for someone to come. Too bad, we are need of purchasing 2 new units and they lost out on our business.
