Recommended Customer Reviews

Glad I switched to Reliable, as technician Lawrence Overstreet found mold in the heating unit, which I suspected (but had not mentioned to him beforehand) due to recent health issues. My previous HVAC company had been doing regular annual maintenance checks and never found it. Lawrence was great- friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

Just had a new dual zoned system installed as a replacement for the 18 year old system that was here when we moved not long ago. Rob came out to give us an estimate, followed up as needed. The installers were George and Jesse, great guys and as far as I can tell did a great job. Very polite, did their work, cleaned up after themselves. Only wish is that communication for the appointment time and that they were on their way had been better from both the company office and the guys. Will be having them come back to cut extra return ducts needed, as the previous system didn't have enough return, and they were here for 8 hours getting it all out in. George took time to explain the new thermostats, compatible with wifi and able to be used with an app on our phones. They did a great job, did not try to sell us high priced mechanicals our house didn't need, and we used the 60 months 0% financing. Great experience.

We live out of state and own an investment property in Atlanta. When the circuits in the bathroom stopped working, we went on line and chose Reliable Heating and Air based on their claim that they provided good service and fair prices. It turned out to be the GFCI which is basically a socket. The tech said it would be $339. I asked how much the part was and the time to install. The part is $25 and it takes 20 minutes to install. We paid it because we don't have the option to wait for another repairman. In anyone's mind, is this a fair charge or is it an opportunity to fleece someone who is over a barrel? I wish I had read a review like this before calling them.

Used Reliable to have a system replaced from single floor to a dual system for 1st floor and basement. Went along with their recommendations on what will work, what we need, etc. Turns out they don't know what works with what and what is needed for make the system work efficiently and without whistling like a freight train while the blower is on. Yay.
Before updating our system we also agreed to the their maintenance program. They come out a couple time a year, make sure everything is clean and working. Well, that's great, when they aren't wasting your life away by canceling scheduled maintenance, making you rearrange your schedule and then, not only not showing up WITHIN A FOUR HOUR TIME FRAME, but also not even letting you know that they won't be there! We will be taking our business elsewhere. Beware!

I needed a complete system replacement so I got three estimates. One of them was Reliable. I called for an appointment and got one the following day. I was very impressed with the salesman. Prompt, knowledgable and informative. He explained everything in details and took his time answering every question. They offer Trane as their main brand which is to me is as good as any other major brand HVAC system such as Lennox and Carrier.
Even though I was sold on Trane and the workmanship of the company by the salesman, I didn't go with them due to price.
I could have possibly gone with them if the salesman followed up and either was willing to negotiate the price a little or at least convince me of the value in their price vs. others. That was the only step that he didn't do after the entail call. As sales person myself, i know that this is the biggest opportunity that sales people miss. Follow up.

Within two months, same problem, was charged over $200. I won't be using them again. The guy was in training & the other guy walked in & didn't speak. SMH

I had an emmergency repair and they came within 3 hours of me calling them on the same day. My technician (Quincy) quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I absolutely will use them again.

We had a major heating and air job done and after they placed a themostat on the wall over 7 feet tall we had them correct their mistake by placing it at a level we could read and reach. This meant repairing the drywall and repainting the wall. While we kept 10% until they finalized their work and waited and waited on them to show up to repair their work, they placed a lein on our property!!!! Really!!!! Currently the HVAC does not cool the building, they sold us a unit that was just too small, the room closest to the unit get so cold you have to layer the clothing and in the other rooms our team needs to show up in shorts in order to bear the heat. I would not recommend them to family, friends or other businesses.

Terrible. I recently renovated my house and wanted to reroute the duct system. Reliable checked the entire HVAC system and determined everything was in good shape. Original quote from Reliable was $700 for duct work.
They figured out after they began their work that the building code required a zoned system for a 2 story house, or two separate systems. Without asking they installed a $2800 zoned system. I would have chosen two separate units to ensure backup a/c if one unit went out. After some arguing we paid the bill for the zoned system they chose for me. Then after they got everything hooked up the system would not blow cold air. They determined the condenser had frozen and needed to be replaced. Another $2800.
The original system had a humidifier and I told them I wanted it to be reinstalled on the new system. When reliable finished their work they determined they could not reinstall the humidifier because of how they arranged the new ducts.
They forgot the UN at the beginning of Reliable Heating and Air. They could also use Reliably Bad Heating and Air or Liable Heating and Air or how about Lying Heating and Air?!! Home owners beware!

This company is perhaps one of the most disorganized and unprofessional I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I typically don't review businesses outside of the restaurant industry, but I am making an exception here because of how horrible our experience with Reliable Heating & Air was.
First off, we have been renting a home for the last three years (I work from home and so I am here for most of the time) and several months ago the owner of the house had Reliable Heating & Air install a brand new high-end unit (during which they broke a lamp and never told us). This summer, however, the unit malfunctioned and stopped working. Being that the system is under warranty with Reliable, the owner naturally called them to come out and repair the system.
The first tech to arrive (I don't remember his name) was prompt and friendly. His assessment was that there was ""gunk"" in the evaporation coil and that he would need to run the heat for 15 minutes to ""activate"" an oil he applied that would clear it out. The house got up to almost 100 degrees during this process. He set the air conditioner to 80 and said when it gets down to 80 we could then drop it another 2 degrees and wait 48 hours for the system to return to normal functioning. He indicated they would check up on us in two days. That night, the house never dropped more than two degrees and that was only because the sun had gone down. Clearly, whatever was done did not work and the assessment was incorrect.
We call back in the morning and explain that the repair yesterday did not work. Customer service tried to tell us that we still needed to wait 48 hours for the system to cycle through the cleaning, but I explained that we could not even follow what the technician has suggested since the temperature was not coming down to even 80 degrees. After a little back and forth she finally says she can get someone out there to look at it before the initial two day wait period.
The second technician arrives. His name is Kevin. How this man was hired by this company is beyond me. He should have no interaction with the public whatsoever. He comes into our home and while I try to explain what has been going on, he proceeds to cuts me off, says he knows what the problem is, and just wants to see the unit. So we comply, and show him where the unit is. About five minutes later, he states that the system needs a replacement part and that it will take about two days to arrive.
At this point we have been without air conditioning and living in a 90-100 degree house for three days, and he's telling us it will be at least another two days before the situation resolves. Naturally we asked him what is wrong. He won't tell us. He rather explains that because we are not the owners of the house, he is not at liberty to talk about the problem. He tells us it's the company policy. So, we become a bit agitated because the owner of the house relies upon us for information as to what has been done. We are the ones that have to be home to receive the technician. We are the ones paying for the property. We are the ones that are suffering through the extreme heat of this problem. And we are the ones who are invested in wanting to know if they finally diagnosed the problem correctly [this time]. Kevin now begins to argue with my wife about why this policy of Reliable Heating & Air is a good one, despite the fact that we are entirely at their mercy and are paying for property that is not working. Wanting the assurance that we will get a proper resolution this time, I asked him to wait for me to get the owner on the phone so that we can get the matter resolved since he will not talk with us. Kevin refuses and walks out the door. I have the owner on the phone and I tell him to please wait to speak with her and he says to me, that he knows her number, she knows what the problem is (she didn't) and that he didn't need to speak with her. While I am telling all of this to the owner, he proceeds to call MY number, leaves a message that explains the whole problem that he wouldn't share with us because my number is the one he thinks belongs to the owner of the house and tells what he thinks is her voicemail that ""her tenants are upset about company policy.""
Overall, Kevin was a rude, discourteous, unprofessional individual who has no business working in a customer service environment. They did eventually send Dave with some window units, only after our getting extremely upset. Dave was very friendly and should be teaching Kevin how to do his job. Finally, when the whole situation got repaired three days later, they turned off our water heater without turning it back on and did not wish to share with me what was done because I was not the owner. I was without hot water and was afraid to turn on the gas without knowing if they turned off the water to the heater unit. After arguing again, they did finally tell me. They are unbelievably unprofessional. and disrespectful.AVOID AT ALL COST!
