Called them for my furnaces for routine maintenance and replace a glow stick. On time, ok pricing, good service and very polite. Sort of normal I guess. But where they really shined was when my glow stick went out again they were super fast to respond and went above and beyond to be sure my furnaces were in good order. I was so happy they warranted their work and went out of their way to up date my components and wiring. They didn't have to. I didn't ask them to. They just did it. No extra bill. Customer service is not dead. Thank you so much.

This company is currently featuring a Buy a furnace, get an AC Unit free!!! Sales Rep came to my home, took a look at my furnace and said that the promotion ONLY apply to a $8,000 furnace!

Either the Sales Rep was trying to get over on me or this promo which is on the website is compromising their integrity as a company.
Who pays 8K for a furnace, especially in the current unrest of this country?

My wife and I have been Reliable Heating and Air customers for more than 22 years. We started with them when they were a small family operation. Over the years they have given us very good service (two complete HVAC replacements, installation of a ductless system and a central dehumidifier). They stand behind their products and their techs have always been knowledgeable and professional.

All of that said, however, Reliable has now become a big, bureaucratic corporation that has lost touch with their customer base. Their corporate communications are horrible (that is, when they communicate at all). They change major plan policies without informing their customers and then surprise them with new charges when the tech shows up to do routine maintenance. This is what happened to us yesterday. When I argued my case to someone in their office, they were unrelenting. I was furious, and I became more infuriated when this same person called me back later in the day and asked if I knew who from their company had scheduled our appointment. HUH? What is that all about? They apparently don't even know what's going on in their own company.

So, after two decades with Reliable HVAC, we are moving on. Because of what I feel are sketchy business practices, we will no longer be doing business with Reliable. I would have given just one star in this review, but because their tech reps are so good, I give them two stars. Buyer beware!

OVERCHARGE! Wanted Ecobee thermostat installed. Tech shows, never goes in attic to look at AC, reads instructions""... $314 plus the 89.95 just for coming out. I said no. He told me that it could be installed by the thermostat and to cut hole in the wall and drop the extender down in it. None of that matched the instructions. I refused service, called ecobee support myself and installed it in 30 minutes at the AC unit where it's supposed to be. Support said his way could have caused damage and he didn't understand the product. I called for just HALF my money back and no follow up. I cannot recommend and will not be using again. Couldn't even get a general quote for this simple thing and supposedly they have a list of what to charge. There's only two ways to install it. I've done both now. Don't pay, call around or do it yourself. #GIRLPOWER UPDATE: I received a call back and was sent a full refund.

I have a condo in Midtown and called Reliable to come out and take a look at my HVAC unit as it wasn't working. The first technician did not know the problem and left. The second technician came out but was not licensed. The third technician they sent refused to work on the system as he was not familiar.
I ended up having to go to another company who came out and took care of the issue that day!!
Reliable is now trying to charge me $165 for absolutely nothing. Making threats to put against my credit and refusing to remove the charge.
DO NOT use this company. They are unprofessional, uneducated and apparently not licensed.

We hired reliable heating and air in December 2017 to clean our ducts and address a black mold problem. We spent $2,500 and it was a complete rip off and we still have issues. They were sloppy and got whatever materials they used on our walls and ruined our carpet with it. On top of that, they didn't even address the mold issues and after it was all done and paid, told us we would have to call someone else even though that is exactly what we hired them for. They said they would credit us for the carpet and wall but we never received anything. I would never use this company again and would not recommend them - bad experience all around.

Starting to have issues with the standby generator Reliable installed. It failed yo start during a power failure this summer and again this winter. Called them and they diagnosed the issue as a bad battery (which they provided and installed). Was promised a replacement but that never materialized. I guess they have my money and feel like they don't have to service me as a customer anymore. No loyalty!

I normally do not leave reviews but my expereince with this company was so bad it prompted a review. I had called them to fix a leak in the toilet and subsequently the toilet was no longer functioning. The manager refuses to take responsibility and is inly concerned with more jobs to sell. Completely pathetic.

Since I have used them for years at my old house, I called them about installing a air filter system in my new house. The lady took my information and that someone would call me back. The next day I called to follow up and they had no record of my call. New lady said that she needed all of my information to put in their system so that they could track the status. Never heard back so I bought from another company. They must be too busy.

Our two HVAC systems were installed by Reliable and the systems have worked very well. I use them for the HVAC annual service and have been most pleased until the last two inspections. The last technician was still in training and installed the wrong air filter and had the flow direction reversed. The previous one was brand new and took 2.5 hours for what has usually been a one hour 1 hour job.
I suspect the sale of the company has affected their previous ""reliability"".
