Recommended Customer Reviews

I bought a new HVAC system last week. The reasons I bought from Reliable are they offered me a really good deal on a very expensive Trane system AND let me finance it on my Lowe's card for 18 months at 0%. I got quotes from four companies, and, while they weren't the cheapest, they gave me the best overall deal.
I'm overly critical of people selling things to me because I'm in sales. I wasn't very impressed with their pre-sales efforts; one visit to my house and no follow-up at all on the proposal. Of course, then I found out my rep's mother just passed away, so he's out on bereavement leave. Anyway, now that it's all done, I have to say I was impressed with how the project was handled.
They removed my entire HVAC system, including about 80% of my ductwork, then replaced everything and had it up and running before they left. That said, it took between 4-6 guys almost 12 hours to get it done. But, it works the way they said it would, it's the quietest system I've ever seen and it's the first step into home automation for me.
Based upon some of the other reviews I've seen, I'll keep my fingers crossed about the service and update this review as necessary.

We used Reliable for electrical service. We were having issues with our lights dimming and then coming back up intermittently. Billy, our electrician, came out and checked out the box. Turns out we're having fluctuations in our electrical service. He installed a home surge guard (which we'd been talking about getting anyhow) and the problem seems fixed. He was very professional and pleasant. I would definitely use them again!

Had a new 3 Ton unit and furnace installed two days ago by Reliable, and it has not worked since the technicians left my house on Saturday. I have Multiple Sclerosis, this means I cannot tolerate heat of any kind. When exposed to heat, I am unable to walk without assistance for several hours. After several calls to Reliable they put us on the schedule for a service manager today (Monday) at 2pm. We decided to call at 1:30 to make sure the manager was en route, only to be informed that it would be a few more hours before they could be here. When we insisted on a specific time, we were again told ""a few more hours."" So, now we are watching the temperature rise outside and inside while I attempt to cool off by using a cooling vest, and multiple ice packs.

We have been a customer of Reliable Heating and Air for many years. But over the past 10 years or so this just isn't the same company it once was and is not very reliable or customer focused anymore. They installed a new AC Unit at our house (no longer under warranty) that they have no record of ever installing. Last night our AC unit started blowing warm air indicating an issue that could be minor i.e. needs Freon or something else. Called Reliable to ask for a service call and was told they would be out next Wednesday, six days from now. Explained that we had been a very long term customer hoping for some courtesy and received a snippy response, southern hospitality at its best! I was saddened to see all of the one star reviews for this company but clearly understand why. Fortunately we found an AC Company that was able to provide next day service and we will no longer be utilizing Reliable Heating & Air for our annual HVAC PM and repair services. Being that they are booked for service calls so far into the future I am sure that they won't miss my business or recommendations that are shared within my Sub-Division.

Today, Reliable Heating and Air lost a customer. On June 23 I made an appointment with an online representative and provided my name, email address, phone number, and address to pay them for a 1 year maintenance plan and to come out and service my unit and they said they were not available until July 29, but I decided to give them a try and wait a month. My Trane unit was installed by CoolRay but I wanted to use a certified Trane dealer. Today, July 28 I had not heard from them to confirm my appointment so I called them and they said my name, phone number, or address was ""not in their system"" and ""there was nothing they could do"". They never apologized or even offered to make it right, instead the operator hung up on me! I called CoolRay and they were very polite and helpful and now they are coming next week to service my unit. I have heard horrible things about Reliable and now I know they are true!

The GOOD - The BAD & The UGLY! 2 1/2 years ago Reliable came out and evaluated our home for issues and provided an estimate which incuded a new unit and extra duct work and returns as well. The sales associate and installers were wonderful. We then signed up for the annual service plan after having a capacitor go out on another unit. This is when things turned sour for us. They charged $159 + the $89 service fee for a $8 capacitor (I know because we purchased one and installed it ourselves a year later)! I realize there are lots of costs associated with running a large business but that was a serious ripoff! Oh and did I mention that was with a discount for signing up for the annual service agreement. Service technicians never really made sure all units were free of dust/dirt. Definitely not worth what we paid for the service agreement. Then wanting to correct some duct issues on an older unit went online and asked for same salesperson and made appt. Then they to send someone different. Just aggravating that they don't listen to the customer! Cancelled appt. and will go with another company. Tired of these companies that get so big they think they can take advantage of their customers instead of doing what got them to where they are.

UN-Reliable DEFINITELY. RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM USING THIS COMPANY. I had troubles with Reliable some years back and should NEVER have signed on with them again. I got the special year package recently- bought a year HVAC service with 24 hour emergency included. Reliable was out at my house to check my air conditioner just a few weeks ago and proclaimed it in great shape. Last Sunday, July 19, 2015 I got a call from my house sitter that the air was off and that she had called them and told them the info about being on the service plan and they told her THEY COULD NOT GET OUT UNTIL JULY 27TH!!!!! When I called them myself and asked if they had any extra emergency service to get someone out there earlier, the phone dispatch young man said, ""We don't accept bribery, Ma'am"". WHAT? I paid for 24 hour emergency and was just asking about extra service? This in Atlanta's high 90's heat, and with my three cats panting and in distress. I am on vacation in upper Canada with no internet service. We had to get help from friends and the house sitter looking for someone to go out there- we finally found Coolray and they did $700 of repair on things THEY SAID RELIABLE SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT IN THE INSPECTION I PAID FOR!!!!!! UN RELIABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE.

Awful! Not ""Reliable"" at all. Purchased 2 units less than 2 years also with a 2 year warranty that included 24 hour emergency service. Unit was serviced just 2 months ago by them. Unit went out tonight and called to have them come out. Soonest they would come out is 9 days from now and told us to call the office on Monday. The 2 ""customer service"" reps...if you can call them that, were awful and had an attitude when we called. Like we were inconveniencing them for expecting them to fulfill their maintenance warranty and 24 hour emergency service guarantee. Non Committal on when they could come out and that they would not schedule anything sooner than 9 days from when we called. Middle of July in Georgia, units less than 2 years old with a maintenance warranty and they can't come out for 9 days. They were paid $17,000 when the units were purchased less than 2 years ago. Definately a company that forgets about their customers and their promises once they get paid! They say they are always open, but they sure as heck are not always standing by their ""Reliable"" name and commitments. If they aren't out here tomorrow...next step is filing a complaint with BBB! Just awful! If you are considering using them, I would run as fast as you can to another company!!

Absolutely disgusted with inept work and poor customer service from this putrid ""business"". 1 day after (Un)Reliable installed a $5000+ system, it broke down. 90+ degrees outside & they wouldn't come out to fix it that day. Another day went by & they came out to ""fix"" it again. And then it broke down again. Days later & still nothing from these awful people. I'm going to have to report them to the GA construction industry licensing board, but no one else should have to deal with this garbage. If you are thinking about doing business with them, do yourself a favor and DON'T.

2 year old unit has broken down both summers. Most recent was tonight. I was told it would take over a week for someone to come out. Meanwhile my 2 kids have to sleep in 80 degree heat. I won't be buying my next unit from ""Reliable""
