We recently bought a new house and needed some electrical work done including installing a Tesla charger, adding recessed lights, upgrading our electrical panel, rewiring knob and tube wires, and adding in ethernet wiring. I did some Yelp bidding and Victor was pretty responsive and came out to our place for an estimate. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about code requirements and pointing out some things we should update and what things seemed fine to leave alone. After chatting with some other electricians Victor's rates seemed reasonable so we went with him.

Victor and his team were prompt to work with us and fit us in between various projects. It still did take a few weeks to finish everything between waiting around for permit and PG&E inspections. However Reliable Electric coordinated all the logistics for those matters and would update us as things got scheduled.

Our original scope of work was upgrading the panel, installing the Tesla charger, and adding recessed lights. Since we didn't have a big attic or a crawl space, they had to open up some of our walls to do the work. That's when we discovered that there were still knob and tube wiring in some parts of our house (was built in 1953). He recommended rewiring since that would work better with our new lighting and it would make things safer. While we had the walls open we decided to run some ethernet cables to different rooms for convenience.

We discovered a breaker not working during the first week after we moved in but Victor was quick to come out and replaced it free of charge. He also did a few other gratis things for us like securing the outside wiring around the house and replacing some old switch boxes. A few months after moving in, some of the outlets in our house stopped working. Victor came out in a timely manner to look at the issue. He was thorough in testing out the breakers and the problematic outlets. Turns out it was a loose neutral wire in another outlet. It was promptly fixed and everything seems to be working again.

Since this was our first home purchase and contractor project, here are some things I learned:

-Reliable Electric does not patch walls. Since they had to open the walls for rewiring, we had to also find someone to do drywall patching. For future projects I will ask contractors what are some items that their scope of work will not cover.

-While it was easy to coordinate with Reliable Electric directly, it may still be beneficial to work with a general contractor if you have a bigger project. We were doing other updates around the house (painting, flooring) and I felt like I had a second job coordinating everyone.

-For future projects I will research and buy the materials myself to save on some costs.

We've been in our new house for a few months now and are enjoying our updated electrical work!

Lovely family run business. The quality of the work is excellent the pricing is competitive. Victor installed recessed lighting throughout my home and put in a NEMA plug for EV charging. I am really happy with the work. They kept me updated and kept the house clean.

We are so glad to find Reliable Electric!!
We needed to replace a bathroom fan and a kitchen garbage disposal at our rental house. I needed to find someone who is willing to work with the tenants, and to handle both electrical and pluming works.

When we looked at R.E. website, we saw that R.E. can do more than electrical work! And the manager, Victor, was very responsive in communication, so, we decided to go with the company. Thanks, to Victor and the team, they installed both a fan and a garbage disposal, perfectly.
A big BONUS point was that they patched up walls (typically, we have to hire a handy man, separately, to fix any gaps)

We appreciate that they drove from SJ to Oakland, and the team was willing to work with the tenants directly & successfully.

Their price estimate is quite reasonable. Most importantly, they did a great work! We'll definitely use the service again!

Victor and his crew are top notch and a pleasure to work with!

We hired Reliable Electric to replace & upgrade our main panel, add a new subpanel in the garage, and install a Tesla charger. They also helped with obtaining permits and coordinating with PG&E, and guided us thru additional details needed to ensure a safe, complete system. The work was performed quickly, and we're so happy with how it turned out! Looking forward to having a modern system that is ready for our future electric vehicle!

Overall Reliable Electric was fantastic to work with, has reasonable pricing, and provides high quality work. Would highly recommend others give Victor a call!

We had Victor from Reliable Electric run a new 220v-30A circuit with a disconnect for new heat pump water heater. Communication prior to selecting them was responsive and post-install communication was also prompt. They resolved a post-install issue promptly with the circuit when the plumber turned on the new water heater. Pricing was reasonable from a nice, prompt, and responsive contractor. I would definitely consider hiring them again.

I hired R.E. for a project that replaced 5 existing outlets' aluminum wires with new copper wires. The old aluminum wires remained inside the wall. The price Victor quoted me is very reasonable and lower than the quotes from other sources.

There was a minor problem after the the project was done, I called him, Victor came back the second day morning and fixed it. So, his service is very satisfactory to me.

Because of the quality on the first project, so I planned to hire him on my second project which is to create a new outlet for 4-hole EV charging (no 220V panel to be installed). However, for just one new outlet, his quote is more than 50% of the first project. I could not get it and tried to nego and cut down the cost. Because of the distance he charged me was 50 ft of copper, which is much longer than the distance I measured. I communicated with him and he confirmed that that's the minimum distance he needs to charge for a project. This is my point of view: Vitor should state to the customer who paid for the materials that, for any unused cooper wire, the customers can get to keep it.

I am struggling in giving R.E. between 4 or 5 stars. Because of the second project quote issue and I still find myself hard to fathom why the cost of only 1 new outlet could be 50% more than 5 existing outlets, so I decide to land on 4 starts. BUT I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT HIS QUALITY OF WORK IS REALLY GREAT ON THE FIRST PROJECT AND ENCOURAGE OTHER CUSTOMERS TO USE R.E.

We hired Victor to install three new outlets and to help us figure out if some old switches still worked and for what. He de-energized old wires that were not being used, and he also fixed an outdoor light that had never worked since installing it new a year ago. In sum, he helped us clean up a lingering mess of electrical issues. Victor is professional and affordable. He was able to quickly and accurately provide a bid. We also appreciated his communication, letting us know when he was going to arrive, etc. Would gladly use him again.
