Company Overview

We offer installation, service, and upkeep of generators for commercial and properties. In 2009, we launched to deliver complete generator installations. We spun off from the trusted local electrical contractor Jacks Electric and have been expanding since then. Serving New Orleans for 2006, we employ a fully licensed electrician, gas fitter, commercial generator contractor, and solar installer. I possess a BA from Harvard University.

One of Ready Power's technicians just worked in the rain to get my generator back up and running right before this hurricane hits! This fellow was a pro, didn't use ANY street language in our conversations, cleaned up after his work and kept me informed throughout the entire process. From the initial phone call to request service, the text confirmations for scheduling and arrival times, and the actual work getting done it's been a 1st class experience! I'm a contractor and I know what good service is! Thank you Ready Power and thank you Zack!

We're having so much trouble getting our generator repaired even though it was supposedly repaired in February, 2024. Its still not working & it's very frustrating how difficult it is to speak with someone!! Lots of voice mails and sometimes 2 days before we hear anything. It's frustrating but we're going to give it one more try. So far 2 $175 service fee visits ... on top of yearly servicing done in January. Fingers crossed that it actually gets repaired ... before hurricane season!

Ready Power was highly recommended as a reliable Generator Installation and Maintenance company when I was researching companies. I didn't want an AC company who did generators on the side. I wanted a company who's only business was installing and maintaining generator. Ready Power kept coming to the top of list. Here's the reality: In October 2022 I signed an agreement and had to put 50% down ($9,300) They did not begin work until March 2, 2023, at which time I had pay another $7,500 before they could start. As of today, April 19, 2023 I am still waiting for this job to be complete!
While I appreciate that after every step of installation, gas, electric, and parish, must come out to ensure that everything is up to code, this is a ridiculous about of time for this work. The work they have done is excellent, and I'm very pleased with that part. The gas and electric guys assured me that this company does exemplary work and they review their work a lot, but 2-3 weeks go by in between scheduled work. Now they will not return my many calls asking when this job will be complete. I still have a giant muddy hole in my yard where they have buried the necessary power and gas lines. But I bet they'll be quick to demand final payment!! It doesn't make me feel confident that Ready Power is the company that I will want to sign a maintenance agreement with. How much longer will this job take??? Bottom line is, the work completed would earn five stars, but they lose on lack of communication and delay of completing the work. Customer Service is sorely lacking.

Terrible Communication, but good work (when you can get them).

TL,DR.

I recently bought a house in New Orleans that had a generator, and I hired Ready Power to maintain it. The generator is on top of my garage roof, so it is difficult for me to access it. I opted for a maintenance contract with twice yearly service calls. I was also promised that as a maintenance plan customer, I would have priority for any problems that required additional service calls.

During Hurricane Ida, the generator housing blew open, water got inside, and the generator failed. Ready Power was able to dispatch a technician the day after the storm, who diagnosed the problem and ordered repair parts. For the next 6 weeks my wife and I called Ready Power repeatedly, just to try to get an idea of when the parts were expected. We left at least 6 messages on their answering system over the course of that 6 week period, but we never got a return call. Finally, I was able to call and speak to a person in the office, who told me the parts had just come in ""a couple of days ago,"" and scheduled a repair appointment later that week at 11:00. The day before the appointment, Ready Power called me and told me the tech would be here at 3:00 pm. I told her at that time that I had been scheduled at 11:00 am, but I accepted the afternoon appointment. I called back 5 minutes later after I realized I had another engagement at that time. Of course, no one answered the phone and I had to leave a message.

The technician did finally come and repair the generator. He also found that one of the defective parts that he had ordered was working, so he didn't replace that, which saved about 40% off the cost of the repair.

Mr Alexander in my opinion over stated the installation
Charge to install a generator whereas he quoted a price of 12-14 thousand dollars that's right 12-14
THOUSAND DOLLARS which is not true.
