Interesting interactions with RCM Electric. My first encounter was in Santa Cruz - young, bearded electrician driving an RCM Electric branded van, honked his horn and gave me the finger multiple times for daring to pass him on a four-lane road while he was going 28-30 MPH in the right hand lane in at 35 MPH zone. He was on his smartphone when I passed.
Then, called and left three messages at RCM to discuss with a supervisor - it's been three days, and no response.
I'm guessing that they might be as professional on the job as off, so I won't be using or recommending their services to anyone.

Hi all,
I have to say that while initially I was pleased with their efforts, I am totally unsatisfied with their follow up. I had an issue with an attached house and they did some work for me.
After the storm this weekend the power went out on the issue I originally asked them to fix. After three days of calling them with no response I finally contacted someone else and found out the work they did for me blew up/shorted out during the recent storm.
So I am out $600 and have not heard from them after 3 days. I talked to the owner three days ago and he said someone would come out. Crickets from that time!

Rich and is amazing crew are total professionals. They arrive early, work their butts off and perform some amazing work.
Having been burned by contractors in the past, I so appreciate when a company does what they say they are going to do. They also do what ever it takes to get the job done.
RCM is my Electrician for all my projects from now on.
They have my highest recommendation possible.

I've had Rich do a number of electrical projects at our ranch in Paicines the past couple of years. He moved an outdoor light fixture, wired in some lights and ceiling fan in our vaulted ceiling, installed 220v in the garage for my plasma cutter, and wired in a transfer box and outlet at our service input for an emergency generator. His work is always first rate and his prices are fair. He shows up on time and explains all work, and is neat and clean, inside and outside the house. I will continue to use him for future projects and recommend him to people needing an outstanding electrician.

RCM Electric is the ONLY electrical company we use for our projects. Rich is very kind and very easy to talk to. He's honest and upfront with the estimated costs of materials and what labor will be involved in any project.
They strive to be very clean and careful in the house and if they do make a very minor mess or damage due to something unavoidable, they are very apologetic and quickly let you know about it. In fact, when there is a minor problem (wire became loose on one of our switches after they worked on it) and it was due to a slight oversight on their part, Rich was honest and admitted the oversight.
They are humble yet professional and their prices are very fair. They either show up on time or let you know right away when something comes up that results in a delay. These guys never leave you hanging.
Always going above and beyond to make you happy. Trustworthy and thoughtful. The latest project we had them do, Rich came up with great ideas to make stucco damage in the ceiling non-existent.
They are the only contractors I have saved on my cellphone.
Top notch. Highly recommended.

I absolutely, and strongly recommend Rich. I had a new garage outlet that wouldn't reset. I tried everything, so I called Rich. He gave me some suggestions over the phone, but when they didn't work I asked him to come out. As suspected the problem was very minor. The real story, though, is that Rich refused any kind of payment. He said he was on his way home anyway, so no big deal. Great guy!

I was looking to install some light fixtures and called RCM for a quote. Rich showed up on time for the appointment and gave a very reasonable price so I hired him. He did a great job installing my chandelier and track lighting both look great. He was very good about cleaning up after himself and was able to finish early so I paid less than the quote. He was also able to hook us up with a handyman to fix the hole in the ceiling from the old fixture. We're going to be changing some more light fixtures and I will definitely calling RCM Electric.

Rich is amazing. He was able to come fix an electric problem at a time convenient for me. He was thorough and able to solve the problem. I appreciate how he takes safety very seriously. He is also friendly and explained the electric problem and its solution in an understandable way. His rates were reasonable. I highly recommend Rich.

Since moving to the area, Rich has been the *only* electrician I'll work with. I had tried one or two prior to him, and found it very difficult getting an appointment, or found service to be sub-par. Once I found Rich through Service Magic, all of that changed.
He is fantastic *and* easy to work with. There's no BS with him, which is what I really appreciate. If something is broken, he'll tell you...if it's not, he's not going to give you a song and dance and try to convince you to fix something that isn't broken.
He knows his stuff, and certainly won't do you wrong.

We found Rich at RCM Electric through Yelp and having now hired him to help with several projects, we can't recommend him highly enough. Here are some of the things he helped us with:
- Swapping out an existing 6-meter electrical panel for new one capable of 220 amps per meter.
- Pulling new wire from the meter box, through underground conduit to a splice box at our new house.
- Installing breakers for two sub-panels and tracing and installing all of the inside outlets and breakers for our new house.
All of this work was done for a new 2800 sq ft house that was bought as a foreclosure mid-construction. There were a lot of mysteries to resolve and we found that Rich had the experience and insights to work through these mysteries, he worked very fast and he priced his jobs very reasonably.
Unlike other contractors we've hired in the past or had bid on jobs, Rich of RCM Electric is very down to earth, very fair and very fast. He doesn't waste any time and is very cost conscious for his clients.
